WELCOME TO THE CARD FARMLAND PORTAL

The CARD Farmland Portal, hosted by the Center for Agricultural and Rural
Development (CARD) at Iowa State University, is an online resource designed to
provide detailed insights and analysis on farmland value and ownership trends.
Explore detailed insights from the annual Iowa State University Land Value
Surveys and use interactive maps and graphs to analyze how land values evolved
over time. Whether you're a farmer, researcher, or an agricultural professional,
our platform equips you with the insights and tools you need to navigate and
understand Iowa’s farmland market.

Iowa’s farmland market is shaped by a variety of factors, including interest
rates, crop yields, and regional land use patterns. With our interactive tools,
you can compare land values across different counties and districts, gaining
insights into the key drivers of land price changes over time. Stay informed by
exploring the latest data and predictions for Iowa’s farmland values.

By far the largest asset in most farm portfolios is land. Unlike stocks, bonds,
commodities, and equipment, however, land sales are few and far between. The
value of that particular asset at a given time can be conjecture. This is why
land surveys are so necessary. Farmers , appraisers, lenders, and managers
cannot make equity and debt decisions without an unbiased and research-based
understanding of land values.
