CONNECT. RESTORE. RECLAIM.

Healing the Interconnected Legacies of Individual, Ancestral, and Collective
Trauma

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTORS

Thomas Hübl, PhD, is a renowned teacher, author, and international facilitator
whose lifelong work integrates the core insights of the great wisdom traditions
and mysticism with the discoveries of science. Since the early 2000s, he has
been leading large-scale events and courses that focus on the healing and
integration of trauma. He has been teaching workshops and presenting training
for Harvard Medical School since 2019. In 2022, he received a PhD in Wisdom
Studies from Ubiquity University.

His non-profit organization, The Pocket Project, works to support the healing of
collective trauma throughout the world. He is the author of Healing Collective
Trauma: A Process for Integrating Our Intergenerational and Cultural Wounds and
the forthcoming book Attuned: Practicing Interdependence to Heal Our Trauma—and
Our World.

“A GREAT DEAL OF HUMAN SUFFERING EXISTS BECAUSE OF THE DENIAL OF THE PAST AND AN
INABILITY TO ACKNOWLEDGE AND INTEGRATE IT. BUT WHEN THE DECISION IS MADE TO
FINALLY LOOK AT IT AND FEEL THE PAST, EVERYTHING SHIFTS.”

Richard C. Schwartz, PhD, is the originator of the Internal Family Systems Model
(IFS) of therapy, a highly effective, evidence-based therapeutic framework
grounded in systems thinking. IFS was developed in response to clients’
descriptions of various parts within themselves as a way to “de-pathologize” the
multi-part personality. It is applicable and versatile for a myriad of contexts.

His IFS Institute offers progressive levels of training for both professionals
and the general public, including an IFS Certification process. Throughout the
world, the IFS model has helped countless people facilitate personal growth and
deepen an embodied experience of Self to help improve the lives of clients,
patients, and therapists.

He is currently on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and has published five
books, most recently No Bad Parts: Healing Trauma and Restoring Wholeness with
the Internal Family Systems Model.

“OUR PARTS CAN SOMETIMES BE DISRUPTIVE OR HARMFUL, BUT ONCE THEY’RE UNBURDENED,
THEY RETURN TO THEIR ESSENTIAL GOODNESS. WHEN WE LEARN TO LOVE ALL OUR PARTS, WE
CAN LEARN TO LOVE ALL PEOPLE—AND THAT WILL CONTRIBUTE TO HEALING THE WORLD.”

“When we look at recent events that are individually and collectively stressful,
it’s clear we need an inner practice that doesn’t take us out of life, but helps
us come deeper into life.”

“Our parts can sometimes be disruptive or harmful, but once they’re unburdened,
they return to their essential goodness. When we learn to love all our parts, we
can learn to love all people—and that will contribute to healing the world.”

— THOMAS HÜBL

— DR. RICHARD SCHWARTZ

The problem is, as we cope with immediate symptoms such as stress, anxiety,
numbness, or indifference, our suffering further disconnects and isolates us
from knowing the nature of our true selves in relationship with others.

The truth is, your trauma is shaped by more than just the individual experience.

There are unseen and unintegrated layers of trauma that develop outside of
us––shared past and present experiences become deeply entangled with how we
respond to any crisis both individually and collectively.

TRANSFORM TRAUMA. RESTORE BROKEN CONNECTIONS. HELP YOURSELF AND THE WORLD HEAL.

ALL TOO OFTEN, PEOPLE TEND TO PERCEIVE TRAUMA (AND HEALING) ONLY AS A PERSONAL
ISSUE, OR AN INDIVIDUAL EFFORT.

CURRENT APPROACHES THAT FOCUS ONLY ON INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCES LIMIT OUR ABILITY
TO FULLY ADDRESS THE LEGACIES OF OUR PAST.

When we focus only on our own trauma, we cannot see how other types of
trauma––ancestral, cultural, social, and spiritual–– influence and contribute to
our present pain and suffering.

But when we step back to consider how our individual, ancestral, and collective
parts are interconnected––we have a much more complete and coherent picture. And
with awareness comes healing.

As we illuminate the inner Self, we empower our other parts to integrate the
entire fragmented system, release the pain of trauma, and amplify healing for us
all.

ENROLL NOW

WHAT IF YOU COULD DRAW FROM THE INSIGHTS OF TWO VISIONARY TEACHERS AND THEIR
COMPLEMENTARY METHODS AND PRACTICES?

BECAUSE TRAUMA IS AT THE ROOT OF SUFFERING, WE NEED A BROADER, MORE
SOPHISTICATED LENS TO EXAMINE ALL THE TANGLED (OR UNSEEN) PARTS THAT CREATED IT.

In this course, Dr. Richard Schwartz and Thomas Hübl will explore how their
complementary principles and processes expand our capacities and competencies
for healing.

They will identify the ways in which we have grown disconnected—individually and
collectively—and discuss new pathways that promote more effective growth and
resilience.

Together, we will discover how to open our hearts with love, compassion, and
curiosity, so that we may honor and restore our innate wholeness and resilience.

IN THIS COURSE, YOU’LL LEARN POWERFUL, MULTIDIMENSIONAL APPROACHES TO TRAUMA
HEALING:

Discover how underlying dynamics of individual, ancestral, and collective trauma
disconnect us from ourselves and others, further blocking our ability to process
and resolve trauma.

Open our hearts and minds to awaken and reconnect to the natural healing
presence within us all, so we can begin to honor all of our
experiences—individual, generational, collective, and spiritual.

Hear stories of healing and hope that demonstrate how we can uncover and release
beliefs, patterns, and emotions that no longer serve us—so we can reclaim our
inner resilience and experience greater growth and healing.

Expand our curiosity and awareness so we can learn how to amplify our developing
self-awareness to benefit healing in the world.

Explore how complementary approaches, tools, and strategies can foster
compassion, restore broken connections, and support powerful transformations.

Integrate new practices and principles into your personal and professional
life—helping you (and your clients) resolve unhealed wounds and legacy burdens
from the past.

HEALING THE INTERCONNECTED LEGACIES OF INDIVIDUAL, ANCESTRAL, AND COLLECTIVE
TRAUMA

CONNECT. RESTORE. RECLAIM.

An all new, 6-session online course where two visionary teachers lead a LIVE
exploration of new pathways to trauma healing.

HERE’S WHAT’S IN THE TRAINING CURRICULUM

All classes meet online—LIVE— for two hours. Don’t worry if you can’t join us
live each time. All sessions are recorded.

SESSION 1: Tuesday, April 25, 2023

9-11am Los Angeles / 12-2pm New York / 6-8pm Berlin
The recording is available by enrolling now

RECLAIMING THE SELF: DECONSTRUCTING INDIVIDUAL TRAUMA

In this first session, we’ll explore the two approaches originated by Thomas
Hübl and Dr. Schwartz (Internal Family Systems)—with a focus on how individual
trauma is interconnected to both intergenerational and collective (including
racial, social, and cultural) traumas.

 * How individual and attachment trauma “shows up” in relation to the family of
   parts.
 * Why individual trauma cannot be separated from the legacies of shared past
   and present traumas.
 * How to recognize which parts of your experiences are your own—and which parts
of your experiences are embedded in the wider context of family, community,
   and society.

 * How to approach trauma work from a place of curiosity, compassion, and
connectedness rather than negativity, judgment, or protection.

Live Session with Teaching + Process Work

SESSION 2: Tuesday, May 9, 2023

12-2pm Los Angeles / 3-5pm New York / 9-11pm Berlin

BREAKING THE CYCLE: ANCESTRAL HEALING

In this session, we'll expand our understanding of trauma to encompass ancestral
or legacy burdens that are passed down through the generations—either explicitly
or implicitly.

We’ll use current examples of conflict in the world to explore the parallels
between political and internal polarizations that inhibit healing and keep
families and cultures stuck in the past.

 * How intergenerational trauma is transmitted—and why the legacy burdens of the
past disconnect us from the Self and inhibit individual healing.
 * Discover why collective healing (with large groups) can serve as a way
forward to address conflict, unburden the past, and release beliefs and
emotions that no longer serve us.
 * Learn methods and practices that help you begin to break the cycle, expand
awareness, and allow us to be more compassionate and curious as we heal.

Live Session with Teaching + Process Work

SESSION 3: Wednesday, May 24, 2023

9-11am Los Angeles / 12-2pm New York / 6-8pm Berlin

COLLECTIVE TRAUMA WORK AND HEALING

In this session, we further broaden our understanding of trauma and healing with
an exploration of how collective trauma affects us culturally and
individually—to shape the perspectives and filters through which we see the
world.

 * Learn how unresolved trauma ripples negative energy beyond the individual,
thus overwhelming relationships, communities, cultures, and global societies.
 * Explore the unique opportunity to integrate our unresolved individual,
intergenerational, and cultural wounds through collective healing.
 * Explore why trauma from the past feels like it’s actively happening “in the
now” so you can begin to reconcile the burdens and negative energy of all the
   parts.
 * Explore changing perceptions of the inner world to begin changing perceptions
of the “outer world”—and how a group can become the instrument to accelerate
   healing.

Live Session with Teaching + Process Work

SESSION 4: Tuesday, June 6, 2023

9-11am Los Angeles / 12-2pm New York / 6-8pm Berlin

BURDENS OF OPPRESSION: CULTURAL AND RACIAL TRAUMA

In this session, our special guest speaker—Fatimah Finney—will guide the
discussion to help us better understand how we can honor the unique experiences
of diverse communities, raise awareness, and better respond to the range of
experiences of individuals and cultures with different histories, beliefs, and
backgrounds.

 * Using current and historical examples, we’ll explore the origins of racial
trauma–– and how individual racism is connected to larger systemic issues.
 * Uncover why our own unconscious or implicit beliefs and biases can affect
specific populations and people of other cultures.
 * Learn why racism and racial trauma continue to persist in many societies
   today.
 * Learn practices that help us (individually and collectively) develop an
intersectional lens toward racial equity and social responsibility.

Live Session with Teaching + Process Work

FEATURING FATIMAH FINNEY, LMHC

SESSION 5: Sunday, June 25, 2023

9-11am Los Angeles / 12-2pm New York / 6-8pm Berlin

In this session, we’ll explore how the multidimensional legacies of trauma
disrupt our connection to our own spirituality—and why we often question beliefs
and ideas about ourselves and what is good, meaningful, or worthwhile.

 * Why spiritual trauma is often a consequence of other types of trauma––and how
we can cultivate safe spaces for spiritual opening and growth.

 * Identify ways that ancestral or collective experiences cause us to disconnect
from our own spiritual values and inner compass.

 * Practices and strategies that allow us to reconcile our past and present
experiences to set a new path toward spiritual healing and transformation.

 * We’ll examine why trauma and loss are intertwined with spiritual trauma––and
how the use of spiritual practices, rituals, and meditation exercises helps
us reconcile our inner and outer world.

Live Session with Teaching + Process Work

THE SPIRITUAL DIMENSION OF TRAUMA HEALING

SESSION 6: Wednesday, June 28 2023

9-11am Los Angeles / 12-2pm New York / 6-8pm Berlin

INTEGRATION AND PRACTICES OF COLLECTIVE HEALING WORK

In this final session, we focus on simple ways to process trauma safely and
precisely— so you can learn how to feel, sense, and work with the energies of
trauma in a more systematic and practical way to help yourself and others in a
journey of healing and growth.

 * Learn how to develop greater presence to create safety and positive energy
   flow in the therapeutic relationship.

 * Strengthen and support yourself as you work with others.

 * Gain an in-depth understanding of how energy flows between individuals and
the collective to support transformation and resilience.

 * Improve your capacity to work with trauma individually and collectively so
that you can help yourself and others integrate individual,
   intergenerational, and cultural wounds.
