TUITION FEE Tuition fee in 2 components, payable annually and term wise has to be paid every year for every child. For example, a Jr KG child will have to pay Rs 172,000 per annum as per the current fee structure. REFUND OF FEE Fee paid at the time of taking admission can't be refunded even if the child doesn't attend school after taking admission. Mid Year Admission A child joining in October need to pay the fee only from that month i.e., proportionally to the amount of time spent by the child in the school in the academic year and not from the beginning of the year except the Annual Academic Fee which is paid in full. However, for a child joining in June/July you will be paying the full year fee as the child will be studying for the full academic year. For more clarity please check against the table below: Joining date Proportion of Fee Upto June 30th Full Upto July 31st 90% Upto Aug 31st 80% Upto Sep 30th 70% Upto Oct 31st 60% Upto Nov 30th 50% Upto Dec 31st 40% Upto Jan 31st 30% Upto Feb 28th 20% Upto Mar 31st 10% Mid Year Withdrawal Transfers are the reality of career life today and Manthan wishes to make the exit as smooth as the admission process. Parents have to give a 60-day notice for withdrawal and fee is proportionally collected till the end of the notice period or the exit of the child, whichever is the later date. Fee Hikes Manthan is committed to run the schools with very high ethical standards and intends to revise the fee only to meet its expenses on account of pay hikes to teachers and other expenses. From the last 7 years, it is observed that this is 10%. There will be no sharp increase in the fee that causes immense hardship to parents budgets. However pl note that in the year when your child moves to Class 1 or 6 or 9 your fee will go up by about 20 to 25% because of the fee slab change effect along with the fee hike of 10%. Fee slabs differ for pre-primary, primary, middle, high school as the expenses incurred on account of having experienced teachers, learning resources, labs, etc go up significantly in the higher grades. 11th and 12th grades are in a completely different league with respect to expenses, however, we kept the fee very low compared to all other schools offering A levels. Exam Fee Fee payable to any external agencies conducting exams like CIE, CBSE, Asset, Checkpoint, etc are not included in the above fee. Each of these agencies publish their fee every year before the exam and CIE fee is subject to pound rupee exchange rate too. These will be intimated separately depending on the communication from the agencies. Students from grades 3 to 10 take Asset every year, the exam fee is about Rs 500. Children of grades 5 and 8 take Checkpoint which is conducted by Cambridge and its expensive but compulsory for all children, anywhere between Rs 5 to 10 thousand. Children in 8, 9 & 10 take the board exams conducted by CBSE and CIE. While CBSE exam fee is very nominal in hundreds CIE exam fee is very expensive, it could be close to a lakh. Method of Payment Fee is to be paid only through direct online transfer or through depositing of cheques/cash in the designated branches of HDFC bank and only against an invoice provided by the school. Why is international or any good education expensive compared to conventional CBSE school fee? The key expenses in school are incurred in one, salaries to teachers, two, building infrastructure and three, facilities like library & labs, power & internet and educational aids. CBSE specifies very basic requirements which conventional schools follow for the number of teachers (1.5 teachers for every section of 40 children) and built up area (25 sft per child) and a basic library and combined laboratory. In any good educational institution the building infra, teaching infra and teaching aids provided are a few times more than what is mandated to enable better quality education. Teacher-student ratio is one of the key parameters of quality education. Manthan Tellapur has 200 teachers and 1,30,000 sft of building area; satisfying norms of CBSE one can actually teach about 5,000 children today whereas we are providing for maximum capacity of 2000 children given the allocation of rooms for various activities like art, craft, music, dance, drama, research, clinic, server room, staff rooms (2) libraries (2), computer labs (2), science labs (3), etc and the self-imposed restriction of 25 children to a classroom. So to provide quality education 3 times more teachers and infra is used in our school which makes it expensive than conventional schools. The expenses incurred in providing resources for research, learning material, technology in each classroom and for each teacher, stationery, teaching aids, labs, library, craft, clinic, sports, celebrations like annual days, training for teachers, international board affiliation expenses etc add up further to the ongoing costs. Also, conventional schools have one or two people in the leadership roles like Prinicipals whereas to deliver an international education which requires more mentoring and monitoring given its all new to everyone we have six to seven members in the leadership team to mentor teachers, counsel parents and guide students. There is a direct correlation between quality and cost which should be evaluated before taking a call on admission. In general for parents earning about a lakh pm this should be feasible, of course, it depends on the priorities. When we were children our education was a priority for our parents over everything else, they didn't have EMIs to worry like us. * For more information pl speak to school admissions team.
