The practice consists of a male and female GP supported by a nurse and two receptionists. We cater to patients of all ages and provide continuity of care throughout all stages of life. Kindly state the reason for your visit eg: vaccinations, cervical check etc. If you are unable to keep your appointment please inform us as soon as possible. Consultation times are 9 am -12 noon and 2.30 pm – 5.30 pm. Each appointment is 15 minutes. Should you require an extended consultation for multiple medical issues please state at the time of booking. HOW TO ORDER YOUR PRESCRIPTION Ballybrack Medical Centre now operates a policy of accepting prescription requests in written form. The easiest way to do this is on our website to simply complete the form. Alternatively you may pick up or print a prescription request form and post or drop it in to us. GETTING YOUR TEST RESULTS Most results will be available 5-7 days after the test takes place. We recommend you sign up for texting consent (available at reception) in order for us to let you know if your result is normal or if you require to follow up. OUT OF HOURS If you need medical advice from 6pm to 8am Monday to Friday or at any time (24 Hours) during weekends and Bank Holidays please call EDOC Cooperative on 01 223 4500. This service is based in the Outpatients Department of St Michael’s Hospital in Dun Laoghaire and provided by local GPs on a rota. An appointment is required. If you have a medical emergency call 999 or 112. PRESCRIBING POLICY Some medications require a 6 or 12 monthly review or blood tests. In such cases you will be required to make an appointment. In conjunction with best practice guidelines we actively discourage prescribing benzodiazepines or sleeping tablets on an ongoing basis.
