HOW TO RECOVERY OUTLOOK MAIL DATA

The Outlook repair tool helps fix many errors detected in MS Outlook:

 * The file outlook.pst is not a personal folders file.
 * Errors have been detected in the file outlook.pst. Quit Outlook and all
mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox repair tool (Scanpst.exe)
to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more information about the
   Inbox repair tool, see Help.
 * The Inbox Repair Tool doesn't recognize the file outlook.pst. No information
   can be recovered.
 * An unexpected error prevented access to this file. Use ScanDisk to check the
disk for errors, and then try using the Inbox Repair tool again.
 * Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe) hangs endlessly and doesn't perform the
   repair.
 * The PST file fixed by Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst) is empty or doesn't contain
   the desired items.

This Microsoft Office Outlook PST recovery tool is like a data rescue for lost
mailboxes. How to recover pst file Outlook? Just select damaged file on first
page of MS Outlook recovery tool and press Next button. Later software reads,
analyze and show data from the customer's file.

WHAT VERSION OF PST FILE WILL BE AFTER RECOVERING?

Recovery Toolbox for Outlook uses Microsoft Outlook for creation of new PST
files. The new version of the PST file with recovered data will be equal to the
Microsoft Outlook version installed on the computer.

Recovery Toolbox for Outlook can repair corrupted PST files after the incorrect
recovery of ScanPST.exe. Recovery Toolbox for Outlook can repair and convert OST
files if ScanOST.exe recovery hasn't been successful.

HOW TO RESTORE OUTLOOK

To restore letters, contacts, meetings, reminders, and other things from the
damaged Personal Storage - Personal Store Folder - of Outlook, you can use the
last backup or return to the previous stable copy of the PST file, or try to use
Recovery Toolbox for Outlook. With a very high probability, Recovery Toolbox for
Outlook can restore an array of data from .pst files to their original state
before they were damaged. To test this statement, it is necessary to:

 1. Download, install, and run the DEMO version of Recovery Toolbox for Outlook.
 2. Select a damaged .pst file.
 3. Run the analysis of the damaged PST file.
 4. Review the contents of the .pst file on the preview page.
 5. Select a folder on the disk for exporting recovered letters, contacts,
    appointments, reminders, and other data.
 6. Choose a saving method like a .pst file
 7. Save recovered objects - saving up to 5 objects per folder is available in
    the DEMO version.

HOW TO FIX OUTLOOK

If you need to fix an Outlook file that is corrupted for any reason, then the
full version of Recovery Toolbox for Outlook will allow you to do this in a few
simple steps. Outlook PST file repair occurs by copying the corrected data from
the damaged .pst file to a new PST file on disk. The tool doesn’t fix or modify
the existing PST file. All recovered data transfers to a new PST file with
preservation of the folder structure and properties of all objects.

WHY IS THE SIZE OF A CONVERTED PST FILE SMALLER THAN THE SIZE OF THE ORIGINAL
OST FILE?

Answer:

Our engineers have analyzed the content of OST (source) and PST (destination)
files. The analysis revealed the types of data that are not carried over to the
PST file after OST file conversion:

 1. old versions of messages, contacts, files and other objects
 2. removed objects
 3. blocks of data from earlier versions of messages, contacts, files and other
objects. It is impossible to use these blocks to fully recreate the original
object, which is why they can be treated as junk.

In other words, when you remove or modify a message, contact, reminder or
meeting, the object is only marked as removed, but is not removed physically and
remains in the OST file. The new version of the object is written to a newly
allocated space, but the old version remains in the OST file as well.

If Outlook is in active use, the size of the OST file can grow quite
significantly, while the actual size of data in the file remains the same.

In order to optimize disk space consumption and remove old elements, you need to
configure the AutoArchive feature in Microsoft Outlook.

> Note: it is recommended to backtrack the changed options after the export of
> the recovered data in Microsoft Excel has been completed.
> * search for and reading of old versions of documents is used by attackers
>    for stealing users’ confidential information;
> * search for and reading of deleted and old versions of documents is used by
>    police authorities to collect compromising information (Forensic Mode);
> * Recovery Toolbox for Outlook enables the user to search for data deleted
> from an OST/PST file and save it to the disk.

HOW DO YOU CONVERT A LARGE OST FILE (OVER 4 GB) TO A MICROSOFT OUTLOOK PST FILE?

Answer:

When converting large OST files (4 GB and above), you will have to use a 64-bit
computer system. All program components required for converting OST to PST must
be 64-bit. These include:

 1. Microsoft Outlook 64-bit
 2. Microsoft Windows 64-bit
 3. Recovery Toolbox for Outlook versions 4.0 and above

This allows you to bypass the limitations on the RAM that can be used by each
component and convert OST files of virtually any size.

Converting huge OST files to PST files

Once all necessary components have been installed, run Recovery Toolbox for
Outlook and perform the following actions:

 1. choose the OST file you need to convert on the program's first screen
 2. choose Convert on next page of Conversion Wizard
 3. choose the emails, contacts, and other information you want to transfer from
the OST to the PST file
 4. choose the option to save as a PST file
 5. type or select a folder to use to save the data on the disk

The process of reading the OST file and then exporting it to PST takes a
significant amount of time. The time it takes to convert OST to PST depends on
your computer's performance, particularly the speed of your disk subsystem.

> Note: When you install Microsoft Office or Microsoft Outlook, the 32-bit
> version is installed by default. To install Microsoft Outlook 64-bit, read the
> following article: How to Install Microsoft Outlook 64-bit?

HOW TO REPAIR A LARGE PST FILE WITH MICROSOFT OUTLOOK DATA?

Answer:

To recover a very large Microsoft Outlook PST file (more than 4 GB), you'll need
to have Recovery Toolbox for Outlook installed on your computer, as well as the
following:

 1. Microsoft Outlook 64-bit
 2. Microsoft Windows 64-bit

If this software is installed, Recovery Toolbox for Outlook won't be limited to
the size of operating data that 32-bit systems have. The program will be able to
completely restore and save the data in a new PST file when working with the
64-bit versions of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Windows. If Microsoft Outlook
32-bit is installed on the computer, Recovery Toolbox for Outlook will encounter
a limitation due to the amount of RAM that can be used in the restoration of
data.

If you have the installation disc or distribution kit, you can install Microsoft
Outlook 64-bit along with the 32-bit version of Microsoft Outlook. You'll find
instructions for the installation of Microsoft Outlook 64-bit here:
https://outlook.recoverytoolbox.com/faq-install-microsoft-outlook-64.html.

WHEN I IMPORT DATA INTO OUTLOOK, I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE: THIS PERSONAL FOLDERS
FILE (PST) IS ALREADY IN USE WITH THIS PROFILE. HOW TO FIX THIS ERROR?

Answer:

This error occurs:

 * when Microsoft Outlook tries to open several Personal Store Folders that use
   one PST file
 * or if the Personal Store Folder is registered in Microsoft Outlook, but the
original PST file does not exist on the disk or if the path to it is
   incorrect

To solve the problem, you should:

 1. Close Recovery Toolbox for Outlook and Microsoft Outlook
 2. Restart the computer
 3. Start Microsoft Outlook. Ignore the message This Personal Folders file (pst)
is already in use with this profile while restarting Microsoft Outlook.
 4. Close all PST files Personal Store Folders being used, except for the main
Personal Store Folder in the left panel of Microsoft Outlook. To do it, you
should right-click the Personal Store Folder item and select the Close
Personal Store Folder item in the context menu.
 5. Close Microsoft Outlook
 6. Open Microsoft Outlook again. If the error message This Personal Folders
file (pst) is already in use with this profile appears again, the path to
the main Personal Store Folder is incorrect or the PST does not exist on the
disk. To fix this error, you should:
    * Find the source PST files on the disk. The best way to do it is to use the
Microsoft Windows search feature (click Start | Search | For Files and
Folders...), select All files and folders (for Windows XP) and then search
for *.pst files on the computer.
    * Set the correct path to the file and its name in the properties of the
main Personal Store Folder (right-click the Personal Store Folder item and
select the Properties item in the context menu).

I'M TRYING TO RECOVER A MICROSOFT OUTLOOK DATA FILE. YOUR TOOL INITIALLY FINDS
40,456 OBJECTS, BUT THE RECOVERED PST FILE CONTAINS 40,337 OBJECTS ACCORDING TO
THE PROGRAM REPORT. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MISSING 119 OBJECTS?

Answer:

Microsoft Outlook data files contain main objects ( messages, contacts, notes,
reminders, attached files and others) and service objects that are not shown to
the user. While writing the recovered data to the new .pst file, the program
does not write some service objects because there is no need to do it.

WHENEVER I TRY TO IMPORT THAT RECOVERED DATA, I GET A MESSAGE SAYING THE PST
FILE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THIS VERSION

Answer:

You performed the recovery operation at another computer or where another
version of Outlook is installed. Our software uses Outlook components to compile
the structure of a new PST file(s). So the recovered PST file is compatible with
the version of Outlook that is installed on the system where the PST file was
recovered.

CAN YOUR SOFTWARE RECOVER OLD OUTLOOK FILES THAT WERE ON AN OLD HARD DRIVE THAT
CRASHED?

Answer:

Cases differ. Our software requires that the damaged file is fully readable so
if you can copy the file to a normal, not crashed hard drive, our software will
probably help you. Please download our software and try it for free. If it can
help in your case, you can purchase it to disable the trial limitations.

WHEN RECOVERING DELETED OBJECTS FROM A PST FILE USING RECOVERY TOOLBOX FOR
OUTLOOK, SOME EMAILS END UP LACKING SOME OF THEIR CONTENT. THAT IS, EMAILS HAVE
FROM, TO, AND SUBJECT FIELDS, BUT NO EMAIL BODY AND/OR ATTACHMENTS

Answer:

Every object saved by Outlook to a file is stored in several blocks of up to 512
bytes. When a message is deleted, these blocks are not deleted and remain in the
file. However, when new emails are sent or received, these blocks may be
overwritten. As a result, the deleted email can be recovered only partially, for
example:

 * if there is a subject, the message body or attachments may be lost;
 * if the subject is lost but the body is there, the email will be restored
   without From and To fields;
 * if the message subject and body have been overwritten, the attachment will be
   saved as a standalone file;
 * and so forth.

Recovery Toolbox for Outlook does everything possible to recover deleted data.
If an object's data blocks are overwritten by Outlook, the object will be
recovered only partially.

HOW TO REPAIR EXCHANGE SERVER MAILBOXES?

Answer:

Repairing mailboxes after the corruption of the Exchange Server database file.

If the Exchange Server database file gets damaged, the server will still have
*.edb files with users' emails. There will also be .ost files on users'
computers containing the personal data of each user.

OST files can be quickly and easily converted to PST files using Recovery
Toolbox for Outlook.

You can try recovering .edb files using Recovery Toolbox for Exchange Server.
This tool converts individual mailboxes to .pst files.

We recommend trying both recovery methods to recover as much data as possible.

HOW TO CONVERT OST TO PST FILE?

Answer:

This OST-to-PST converter is an easy-to-use tool that operates like a wizard.
With it, you can convert an .ost file to the .pst file format in a few simple
steps. No special know-how is needed in order to use the Recovery Toolbox for
Outlook OST-to-PST converter.

Microsoft doesn't currently offer a special Outlook OST-to-PST converter. All
OST2PST converters have been designed by ISVs. Recovery Toolbox for Outlook,
however, has a demo mode that lets you convert five objects per folder.

WHAT VERSIONS AND TYPES OF .OST FILES CAN BE CONVERTED TO .PST FILES?

Answer:

Recovery Toolbox for Outlook can read *.ost files any versions of Microsoft
Exchange Server, any version of Microsoft Outlook (32- or 64-bit, ANSI or
UNICODE). Software can read and convert *.ost files with any size of file.

WHY SIZE OF RESULT PST FILE SMALLER THAN SIZE OF SOURCE .OST FILE IN SEVERAL
TIMES?

Answer:

The size of the converted .pst file shows the actual size of information stored
in the ost file. If you do not make archives and do not start Cleanup Tool
regularly for the original Offline Storage Folders, then the .ost file size is
only growing. As a result, only 5-10% of the file can be used for a real user's
data.

WHAT VERSION OF PST FILE WILL BE AFTER OST2PST CONVERSION?

Answer:

For the use of OST-to-PST conversion on a computer running Microsoft Outlook,
the .pst file version will be the same as that installed in Microsoft Outlook.
If the computer has Microsoft Outlook 2007 or higher installed, the size of the
resulting .pst file can exceed 2Gb. If you use MS Outlook 98-2003, the size of
the resulting file will be limited to 2Gb. In this case, Recovery Toolbox for
Outlook will create several .pst files in which to store all the data from the
source .ost file.

HOW EXPORT DATA FROM .OST FILE TO OTHER EMAIL CLIENT SOFTWARE

Answer:

Recovery Toolbox for Outlook exports messages, contacts, appointments and other
data from *.ost files as MSG files. The software converts and saves all data
from .ost files to the .msg file format. Later, the user can drag and drop or
import the saved *.msg files in any of the popular client software programs,
including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Live, The Bat, Eudora, Incredimail, Mozilla
Thunderbird, etc.

HOW DO YOU IMPORT .OST FILES IN OUTLOOK?

Answer:

Microsoft Outlook has no function with which to import data from *.ost files. To
open an *.ost file in Outlook, the Exchange Server and Windows Domain Controller
must be working and available for user authentication in both of the respective
services. Only after that is it possible to transfer the contents of an .ost
file that is open in Outlook to a .pst file that is also open in Outlook.

If the Exchange Server or Windows Domain Controller isn't accessible or doesn't
work, or if the user can't be authenticated, access to the data will be denied
and Outlook won't open the .ost file.

HOW DO YOU IMPORT DATA FROM AN .OST FILE IN OUTLOOK WHEN THE EXCHANGE SERVER OR
WINDOWS DOMAIN CONTROLLER ISN'T ACCESSIBLE?

Answer:

The original .ost file must be converted to a pst file using Recovery Toolbox
for Outlook and then opened in Outlook. Conversion from OST to PST using
Recovery Toolbox for Outlook doesn't require the availability of Exchange Server
or Windows Domain Controller.

Conclusion

If you’d like to update to Microsoft Outlook 2019 and you have already an older
version of Outlook, for example, 2016/2013/2010/2007, and the like, I would
advise the following:

 1. Make a backup copy of Outlook data files (files of .pst and/or .ost format)
 2. Remove Microsoft Office completely
 3. Make a new clean install of Microsoft Outlook to another folder. For this
purpose, use the option of advanced installation and enter the installation
    path.
 4. Open the list of Outlook data files and add a previously saved PST file of
    the previous application version.

CUSTOMER'S REVIEWS AND RATINGS:

Susan Clark 10-08-2022

I hired a tech from my local Wired office who tells me that the files were
probably damaged during a M/S update. He says he "has never seen this problem
before", uninstalled the entire Office suite after trying all other options and
the problem persisted. Since I ceded control of my computer to him, I am not
sure how he proceeded from there but he did eventually fix it. Thankfully, his
costs are reasonable.

One Outlook PST file repeatedly asked for password but didn't accept the
password that I typed. I hadn't forgotten the pw and I absolutely know that I
was typing it correctly. I tried the MS pst repair tool and some other free
tools and then some that do a "teaser" recovery of a few items per folder. This
tool recovered the content of the pst. The downside is that it didn't actually
recreate the pst, it just recovered the content. The folders were recovered but
not the folder structure, nor were the calendar entries recovered correctly
particularly those with recurrences. To be honest, I am just grateful to have
all the data back available to me and there appears to be nothing missing. Thank
you for an excellent 99% product.

Carl Barringer 07-26-2022

I reformatted my computer. The .PST did not get backed up in my incremental
backup since Microsoft does not change the modified date of it unless you
disconnect from Outlook. I used the recovery tool to get a .OST from the backup
and convert it to a .PST - just what I needed!

Rodrigo 06-26-2022

Value software to convert ost to pst.

JIMENEZFDJ 06-09-2022

Hi, I lost SENT ITEMS folder from my Outlook 2016 Inbox, it appears that I did
something wrong with my mobile Outlook Client (Android) that made this happen,
so synchronization ocurred with my Godaddy e-mail hosting and SENT ITEMS were
fully deleted from my Outlook Laptop Client. I tried to recover these emails
from my Laptop computer, but recovery was only partial, some of them were
successfully recovered, others not... I recovered only about 20% of the emails.
Thanks...!!!

Gerardo Ramirez 06-09-2022

We decided to license Recovery Toolbox software for converting .OST to .PST
files from some officers who have retired from Microsoft 365 licensing.
Additionally, it allowed us to recover PST files that could not be opened and
used from Outlook. Very good tool!!

kiran 05-22-2022

Taking to long for PST conversion. Still Pending. More than 12 hrs.

David Kenyon 04-26-2022

No recovery needed, just converting an old Hosted Exchange domain mailbox from
OST to PST to move into the customers new domain O365 setup. Worked perfectly
and was really fast. Took about 30 mins for a 15GB OST file to convert to PST.

Noize 01-10-2022

Easy to convert 5.6Gb Exchange Server .OST file. Thanks!

Tiana Acosta 04-27-2021

I was allowed to take a corporate large pst file and fix it at home on my pc. I
thought it would take 2 days since the file size is 48 GB !! But the program
fixed the inaccessible file in less than 3 hours.

Makaila Hughes 04-13-2021

I tried to fix errors in the file by use SСANPST.exe, but it didn't help.
Recovery Toolbox for Outlook was able to get letters and contacts from the pst
file.

Santiago Marks 04-04-2021

Thanks for helping to repair corrupted Outlook 2003 .pst file.

Jamie Carroll 03-22-2021

Fine. I was able to wait for the complete synchronization of the .OST file, and
then converted it to .PST. The file size came out approximately 34GB. Everything
went fine, I was able to retrieve all my letters.

Lynn Phillips 03-16-2021

Cingulum Yutah 02-08-2021

God, what a program! Converted .ost to .pst, and also got offline access to the
account. Super!

Joe Beam, PhD 02-08-2021

I haven't used Outlook for several years. There was an attachment to an old
Outlook email that I needed to find and retrieve. That's what I used your
software for.

Trace Oakley 01-20-2021

I cant open the .pst file even after repairing, Outlook said "outlook.pst is not
an Outlook data file". If you have the same problem, write to the support, they
sent me step-by-step instructions, after which everything started and everything
works

Thymiaterion 01-13-2021

I downloaded the program, installed and repaired the .pst file. But without an
Outlook client, the fixed file won't opening. I will supplement the review when
I look at the contents of the file at work.

Zakai Xzavier 12-28-2020

After system restore (Windows 7), I had to deal with troubleshooting the missing
Outlook messages. I had a .PST file, but the fallback system caused emails to be
deleted. It took less than a minute to fix the .pst file (online), the service
recovered the deleted messages.

Luka Luca 12-22-2020

My address book became complete again, I fixed the damaged file and got my
contacts and letters back.

Mary Arjun 12-15-2020

The goal is to restoring MS Outlook contact history, and as a result, both
contacts and deleted messages were undeleted. Twice happy!

Ostensory 12-07-2020

The program repaired all information about my tasks from a corrupted Outlook
2007 .pst file. Now I can export all data to Outlook 2019.

Gus Griffin 08-11-2020

I bought Recovery Toolbox for Outlook to recover mail, but I cannot find the
.pst file. I called support, they told me to download their free utility "Mail
Undelete Recovery Toolbox Free", which eventually helped me restore the folder
with lost letters and contacts. I am very grateful for the help, they said that
the money will be returned within 10 days. thks

Pichiciego 08-04-2020

Damn such a stupid mistake, while restoring, I somehow unchecked the "Outbox"
letters. As a result, in Outlook, I saw only the contents of the Inbox messages.
Only after a second "thorough" recovery, I was able to recover all the contents
of the mail correctly. P.S if you see the letter, please excuse the angry
statement)

Santino Dwayne 08-01-2020

I don't know why there is a converter here, because Outlook already stores all
letters in .PST. I selected letters from the email, pressed the "recover" button
and received all the letters. The program is definitely needed, while I used it
once.

Zygomatic 07-20-2020

Damn guys, you are super!! I no longer hoped to find a program for repairing
Outlook emails, especially for Vista operating system. The accountant asked to
try your product and it worked!! We were able to export all emails from
corrupted .PST file and open them in Outlook 2007 Today, I'll ask Boss to write
a check for the new Windows 10 operating system! Guys, you know your business!

MucilSlurry 07-15-2020

I usually use the native Microsoft Outlook utility (Scanpst.exe) to fix errors,
but today I first encountered such a problem, the utility crashed. Work
colleagues have recommended your program. The program really helped repair
contacts and emails from a damaged .pst Outlook file, but for me it is a little
more complicated than the native tool

Chuk 11-12-2018

Yesterday I licensed a low cost solution and my problem is behind me now. I wish
you and your company the best….Chuk

Dennis 10-09-2018

I think I have gotten it recovered. I uninstalled outlook 2010 32 bit and
installed outlook 2010 64 bit. I was going to then run the recoverytoolbox
program but when I clicked on my newly installed outlook it found my data file.
I am still confused as to what happened but I am back to work. Thanks, Dennis

ahmet gul 10-03-2018

It run well and I solve my issue. Many Thanks. Olivier

Fe Bob 02-22-2018

Plus: I've converted 11Gb OST file. Minus: Price is expencive $50. And I've wait
7 hours.

KITSCHWITCH 10-20-2016

Plus: 1) Can try before you buy, make sure anti-virus is happy, that it finds
and fixes corrupted files. It will then fix 5 files per folder for free or pay
for the rest. So you can make sure it will work for you before paying. 2) Can
work with Outlook x64 Minus: Not free.

JOHHNNY_27 02-03-2014

ever seen.

PETER WESKINS 03-01-2013

Software handled my trouble with crashed Outlook 2007 emails after turning my
computer off. I acquired this tool for some minutes, during the same time it
solved my issue.

Donny West 11-11-2012

Software for some minutes found out crashed MS Outlook emails and got me back
data. Tool needs a lot of resources of hardware for its working. In result, most
of corrupted emails were restored, I'm almost glad, almost.

MASON RODGERS 02-07-2012

My Outlook 2003 emails were fully restored. High requirements of product,
especially under working with huge email messages. My machine is on a ledge of
cancel. Positive solution, but not for old computers.

M.Romer 04-13-2011

Plus: Easy to use. Relatively inexpensive. Completely restored an intact OST
file. Minus: None for me. I don't know whether it works on a corrupted file.
SUMMARY: I lost an MS Small Business Server (2008) in a storm. Most of the users
were using cached Exchange mode in Outlook, and I was able to open Outlook and
copy their existing folders to a PST file. I forgot a couple of folders on one
PC (Outlook 2007), though, and I lost access to the OST file after joining the
PC to the rebuilt domain. I downloaded the demo copy of Recovery Toolbox for
Outlook onto my laptop and used it to examine the OST file. It successfully
recovered five items from each folder in the file, so I purchased a licence. Got
the email with my license key within about five minutes, applied it to the
program and recovered the entire OST file a couple of minutes later. No
problems, and the user was happy! I have not tried this on a corrupted OST or
PST file, so I can't speak to how well it works on those. But on an intact OST
file that you cannot open in Outlook, it worked like a charm. Plus, it cost a
lot less than some other recovery programs.

Simpty AW 03-22-2011

PLUS: The software was able to recover an .ost file that was created using
Outlook 2010 and Outlook Connector_v14.1. The scanned happend quick for a file
under 500MB. The price of the software is well worth it to recover a .ost file!!
Offer: I haven't come across any problems with this program, I only just used it
like an hour ago. This con is more towards MS and Outlook 2010, if you create a
program that uses a file (.ost) that program should be able to open it and be
used like before. Total: If you use MS Outlook 2003, 2007, 2010 this program
will help you recover .pst and .ost files! The price is great and to this work
the first time out. Even thought some of the data was missing, but I think that
is more because of MS Outlook .ost file (local file) did not have saved in it.
If you need to get calendars, contacts (root level), deleted items, drafts,
Inbox (email), Journal (only if the .ost has it in it), Junk Email, and Sent
Items then this program is for you! If your using Outlook 2007, 2010 and the
plug-in "Outlook Connector" there are 3 folders that this program MIGHT not be
able to recover. Any folder in Outlook with the following after the folder name:
This is because you have an Hotmail/Windows Live email account and your are
using Outlook's plug-in "Outlook Connector". It just goes to show you MS Office
Outlook 2010 is still lacking in basic software usability to import a .ost file.
Thanks Microsoft way to drop the ball yet again.

Harlan Harris 01-15-2001

Price is very reasonable compared to other programs written to do the same
thing. Works to extract data from pst files and also ost files. Many of the
other programs will only do pst files. Scanner is slow. Even on a fast computer
it can take 1 hour to read the contents of a 2 Gb size file. And then take 3-4
hours to write the contents to a new pst file. I have used the program for 3
years. I needed an ost recovery program and a review of internet indicated that
most of the progrmas that would do this started at $300 for a 1 time use. Over
the 3 years that I used this program it has paid for itself many times over. If
I need to fix someones file I will take the file to my home shop and run the
program on a quad core system over night. Recently I was unable to recover a
file with this program and so I purchased a more expensive program. The new
program ran faster and worked better. However, the new program would only repair
pst files, it would not read ost files. So I now use both programs. This program
to recover ost files and the other one to recover pst files. For anyone needing
to repair pst or ost files this is the place to start. Most of the other
programs available that have been written are much more expensive.
