MAKING MEDICAL MARIJUANA ACCESSIBLE IN ACADIANA

Established in 2019, The Apothecary Shoppe is one of ten pharmacies authorized
by the Louisiana Legislature and Louisiana Board of Pharmacy to sell medical
marijuana products to qualified patients. All products that we carry are grown
in Louisiana and sourced through our two state approved growers: Good Day Farm,
in partnership with LSU Ag Center and AYO, in partnership with Southern
University Ag Center.

Know the difference- While there are other companies claiming to sell cannabis,
any marijuana products sold in stores outside of licensed Louisiana medical
marijuana pharmacies are created from agricultural hemp, and are not true
marijuana products. The Apothecary Shoppe is the ONLY source for MEDICAL
MARIJUANA in Acadiana.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

We currently have two locations to serve Acadiana.

   Available)
 * NEW IBERIA: 1700 Center St. New Iberia, LA 70560 (In Store Pick Up & Drive
   Thru Available)

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU CARRY?

We carry a wide range of products including: flower (bud), edibles, pre-rolls,
vape cartridges, extracts, tinctures, and topicals.

WHERE DO YOUR PRODUCTS COME FROM?

All products are grown in Louisiana and come from our two state
growers/producers:

 * Good Day Farm- In partnership with LSU Ag Center
 * Ilera Holistic Healthcare- In partnership with Southern University Ag Center

WHAT SETS US APART?

While many patients know exactly what products they’re looking for and don’t
need our assistance, others may not know where to start. Our knowledgeable and
friendly team of pharmacists, technicians, and customer service representatives
are always available to answer any questions. Additionally, pharmacists are
available for in person or phone consultations to help with product selection,
dosing, interactions with other medications, or to help troubleshoot any issues
you may have.

CAN I LEGALLY PURCHASE MARIJUANA ELSEWHERE?

LICENSED MEDICAL MARIJUANA PHARMACIES ARE THE ONLY LEGAL SOURCE OF MEDICAL
MARIJUANA IN LOUISIANA. Any marijuana products sold in stores outside of a
medical marijuana pharmacy are created from agricultural hemp, and are only
legally allowed to contain 0.3% or less of Delta 9 THC. These hemp products are
created using chemical processes to convert hemp into Delta 8 or Delta 9 THC.
Additionally, many of those products are created using unknown, potentially
harmful ingredients and chemicals to increase potency while remaining legal. At
The Apothecary Shoppe, we carry only medical marijuana products that are grown
and produced in Louisiana in partnership with LSU and Southern University Ag
Centers. Medical marijuana does not have a maximum percent of allowable THC by
law, therefore products do not require chemical processes to increase potency.
These products are rigorously tested for quality and safety and don’t make it to
our shelves unless they are of the highest quality and have met all safety
standards.

This rigorous testing provides a safe, consistent, and reliable source for
medical marijuana.

Do not be fooled by other companies claiming to sell marijuana.



While many patients know exactly what  products they’re looking for and don’t

friendly team of  pharmacists, technicians, and customer service representatives
are always available to answer any questions. Additionally, pharmacists are
available for in person or phone consultations to help with product selection,
dosing, interactions with other medications, or to help troubleshoot any issues
you may have.

HOW DO I TRANSFER BETWEEN THE APOTHECARY SHOPPE LOCATIONS?

You can transfer as many times as you’d like! The process is easy:
1) Visit our website and click the menu for the location you’d like to pick up
(Lafayette or New Iberia)

2) Add desired products to your cart

3) At the top of the menu, click “Transfer to New Iberia” and add it to your
cart

4) Select your pick-up or delivery time slot and submit order.

That’s it!

You can now shop at your desired location for as long as you’d like. You will
need to add the “Transfer to Lafayette” or “Transfer to New Iberia” item to your
cart any time you are switching between Apothecary Shoppe locations.

Note- Transfers are free. Our system does not allow us to set a product at
$0.00. Please disregard the $0.01

WHAT IF I DO NOT PICK UP MY ORDER?

If you prepaid for your order, we will hold it at the pharmacy until you are
able to pick it up. If you did not pre-pay for your order, we will hold for at
least three business days before returning to stock. If you cannot make it to
the pharmacy within three business days, give us a call and we will try to make
accommodations. 

WHO QUALIFIES AS A PATIENT?

You probably qualify. As of 2020, any licensed physician is able to recommend
medical marijuana to a person for any condition that can be deemed debilitating.
This may include, but is not limited to: stress/anxiety, depression, insomnia,
pain, nausea, inflammation, etc.

HOW TO BECOME A PATIENT?

1. Get an evaluation from a doctor
Visit our  Find a Physician page for a full list of recommending doctors.
Telehealth options are available and allow you to speak with the doctor for a
brief phone call from the comfort of home.

2. Doctor Faxes Recommendation
Once approved, your doctor will fax over your medical marijuana recommendation
to The Apothecary Shoppe.

3. Confirmation from The Apothecary Shoppe
Once we receive and process your recommendation, we will send you a confirmation
text message. You should expect to receive this message from us within 24 hours
or less after approval from the doctor.

4. That’s it!
Once you receive confirmation that we have your recommendation on file, you are
now able to purchase medical marijuana products with us!

WHAT IF I AM AN OUT OF STATE PATIENT?

Even if you are an out-of-state medical marijuana patient, you can still get
your medication at The Apothecary Shoppe. All you need is your Medical Marijuana
card and a valid state ID or driver’s license. You will also need to complete
our Visiting Patient Form before your visit!

WHAT IS A MEDICAL MARIJUANA RECOMMENDATION?

Our state does not issue medical cards. Rather, a medical marijuana
recommendation is Louisiana’s legal equivalent to a medical marijuana card. In
Louisiana, a recommendation is treated the same as a prescription. Any marijuana
product you purchase will come with a prescription label with your name on it,
and this label on the original product packaging is your legal right to possess
the product in Louisiana. This takes the place of a medical card.

HOW TO FIND A DOCTOR?

Any physician who is willing, and in good standing by the Louisiana State Board
of Medical Examiners, may recommend medical marijuana to their patients.

WHAT CONDITIONS ARE TREATABLE WITH MEDICAL MARIJUANA?

Physicians can recommend medical marijuana to any patient, for any condition
they diagnose as debilitating to the patient.

DOES HEALTH INSURANCE COVER MEDICAL MARIJUANA PRODUCTS?

Even though a majority of states including Louisiana have legalized the use of
marijuana in medical treatments, patients will have to pay for medical marijuana
products out of pocket at a licensed pharmacy due to the Schedule 1 controlled
substance classification of marijuana.
