   where the weather is fair.

   you should make the Solent your classroom. There you find the fullest range
   of challenges to test... read more your abilities and if you can gain your
   ticket then it will stand you well for wherever you choose to sail.. The
   pre-course admin. was efficient and friendly. We sailed on a Bavaria 38 which
   understandably was well used as it was a training yacht but clean with good
   sails and a reliable engine.
   Our instructor's skills. were impressive . The exemplary way in which he
   shaped the course for us in a low key but firm manner cajoling, using good
   natured humor and taking time to let us make our own mistakes always ready to
   step in should safety be compromised was a fine example of leadership. At my
   age (72) I was a little apprehensive of how the course would go but his
   support was simply excellent and deservedsrecognition. We were 4 DS
   candidates and one competent crew and each of us was challenged fairly and in
   a similar way being nudged towards successfully completing the course. Our
   collective view was very positive. If you are thinking of doing your
   practical then do use Commodore Yachting in the Solent. You will not regret
   it. Good luck and best wishes.
