Americans have an important choice this November: elect representatives who will champion America’s critical oil and gas industry (keeping energy prices stable), or elect representatives whose campaign promises include ending America’s energy independence, setting the United States on a dangerous path much like Europe. If you aren’t caught up on the energy crisis in Europe, here’s what you should know: * Decades of “green policies” have caused European countries to be dependent on hostile foreign energy sources, like Russia. Notably, Russia has traditionally supplied about one-third of Europe’s gas. * As of July 2022, Europeans were paying an average of nine times more than Americans for natural gas. * England recently lifted a ban on fracking in an effort to strengthen the country’s energy supply. * Amid the energy crisis, Germans are reported to be stockpiling firewood for the winter as oil and gas prices soar. In fact, The New York Times’ recent story “Europe Is Sacrificing Its Ancient Forests for Energy” shows how rising energy prices are turning people toward wood as an energy source, logging trees in forests that have gone untouched for centuries. How do we avoid this outcome in America? By voting for candidates who will strengthen and grow America’s oil and gas industry. Your vote matters because the candidates we elect today determine the state of American energy tomorrow.
