in a nutshell

Government officials caused the crisis, and then tried to cover their tracks to
avoid admitting their mistakes. Nearly a decade later, not a single one has been
held accountable for their failures or lies.

Meanwhile, trial attorneys are walking away with nearly $200 million dollars,
while Flint victims have seen $0 from the $626 million Flint Water Crisis
settlement.

TRIAL ATTORNEYS ARE

EXPLOITING THE CRISIS

On February 4, 2022,

U.S. District Judge Judith Levy issued an opinion and order that attorney fees
and expenses will account for roughly $200 million of the total $626.25 million
Flint Water Crisis settlement - which could leave Flint residents with up to
$4,300 each, while their lawyers walk away with millions of dollars.

Moreover, as of January 2024, Flint residents have yet to see a dime from their
settlement.

"It might be normal, but it's not ethical. It's immoral!... You were fighting
for the children? Well, what were you fighting for?!? Because if you take 200
million off the top, what does that leave them?"

Bishop Bernadel Jefferson
(Mid-Michigan Now, March 9, 2021)

A WEAK CASE LEADING TO A MISTRIAL

VNA has faced and is still facing allegations about its involvement in Flint in
several trials involving different categories of plaintiffs. The first trial,
which ended on August 11, 2022 ended with a mistrial, after the jury could not
reach a verdict. This is yet another proof of how weak the case is to begin
with.

Trial lawyers’ attempt to get additional money from a company that was not even
in Flint when the Flint Water Crisis began have failed once, and they will fail
again because the facts have already been laid bare.
