PhD Research Study: Minecraft Across the Curriculum Thank you for supporting my research by completing a questionnaire to help understand how Minecraft can be used effectively to support learning. As part of my PhD in Technology Enhanced Learning at Lancaster University, I am planning to carry out a study to investigate the benefits of game-based learning through Minecraft across the curriculum. I am particularly interested in how you have used Minecraft effectively in curriculum subjects or within the Minecraft esports worlds. If you would be happy to share your experiences with me, I would be grateful if you could complete my online questionnaire which follows the participant information and the consent form. SIOBHAN MORGAN Welcome to my website. I am a teacher and head of computer science at an independent school in south west England. I am also an associate lecturer in primary enrichment (computing) at the University of Exeter and part time PhD researcher in technology enhanced learning (TEL) at Lancaster University. My PhD research is concerned with Minecraft as a tool for teaching and learning across the curriculum. My research interests include game based learning; esports for learning; multimodality; social semiotics; constructionist approaches to learning, and virtual worlds. I enjoy writing about computing education and technology and I have most recently written about Minecraft and esports for the Raspberry Pi magazine Hello World. I have also written about computing and technology for learning for TES and MicroMag, as well as writing schemes of work for Kapow's KS1 and KS2 computing units. I also review articles for Impact journal to keep up to date with current practice and innovation in education.
