A couple of years ago I installed a birdbox camera. I wanted to stream it live
on my blog (and to other people generally). I'm in the UK, so I chose a provider
in Europe. They were awful - the service was up and down, they had strict
bandwidth limits, and support didn't actually try to support. I found Brownrice
while I was looking for an alternative, and made a few enquiries because I was
worried about using a host that was on another continent. I tested it, signed up
(it's actually cheaper than what I'd tried before), and in the year or more I
have been with them there has been no downtime other than for me having to
reboot my camera periodically (and I do that when I can't see it on my local
network, which is nothing to do with Brownrice). Support was actually helpful
while I was setting things up, and unlike my previous experience, didn't come
back with 'we don't support your camera resolution'. Since the initial set up, I
haven't had any need to contact them. The dashboard provides a lot of features
way beyond what I had before. It just works, and faultlessly as far as I can
see. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
