Customize Sprint settings for a Sprint Folder Once you've enabled the Sprints ClickApp, you can start creating Sprint Folders and sprints! Sprints are Lists with additional features included to help you manage your sprint. All sprints must be located within a Sprint Folder. Sprints that run simultaneously must be created in separate Sprint Folders. We highly suggest you create separate Sprint Folders for teams that need their own reporting metrics or Dashboards. WHAT YOU'LL NEED * Sprints are available on every ClickUp Plan. * Sprint Automations and Sprint Dashboard Cards are available on the Business Plan and above. * 100 uses of Sprint Points are available on our Free Forever and Unlimited Plans. * Unlimited Sprint Points are available on our Business Plan and above. * A Workspace owner or admin will need to enable the Sprints ClickApp. * Guests can work on tasks in sprints, just like regular tasks. * Any Workspace member who has access to the Space can edit Folder level Sprint settings. CREATE A NEW SPRINT FOLDER Create a Sprint Folder to contain individual Sprints. 1. Hover over a Space that has the Sprints ClickApp enabled. 2. Click the + button. 3. Select Sprint Folder. 4. The Sprint Folder settings are populated with your Workspace's default Sprint settings. You can edit the Sprint Folder sprint settings. The edited settings will only apply to new Sprint Folders. 5. From the Automations section, you can click the toggles for the bottom two Sprint Automations to enable them. The Sprint Automation to mark sprints as done was permanently enabled for all new and existing Sprint Folders on all ClickUp plans on March 17, 2023. 6. Click Save Settings. CREATE A SPRINT Once you've created a Sprint Folder, you can add Sprints! Your sprint settings differ if you have Custom Sprint Durations enabled. Custom Sprint Duration is currently in beta, and only available if you opt in from the Sprint ClickApp in your Workspace settings. Create a Sprint with Custom Sprint Durations enabled. CREATE A SPRINT WITHOUT CUSTOM SPRINT DURATIONS ENABLED To create a sprint when you're not using the Custom Sprint Durations setting: 1. Click the plus icon next to a Sprint Folder and select Sprint. 2. Set the Sprint index number to start from. You'll only select an index number for your first sprint. All future sprints will be sequential. 3. Sprint Duration, Start date, and End date will reflect your default Sprint settings. 4. Enter the number of sprints to create (up to 50). 5. Click Create Sprints. 6. Sprints will be created in the Sprint Folder. CUSTOMIZE SPRINT SETTINGS FOR A SPRINT FOLDER By default, the sprints created in a Sprint Folder inherit the settings configured on the Workspace level. These settings are configured by default or can be customized. You can customize your Sprint settings on each Sprint Folder to adapt the setup for different teams or projects. Any changes made to your Sprint Folder settings will only apply to future sprints. ACCESS YOUR SPRINT FOLDER * Click the ellipsis ... next to the Sprint Folder. * Select Folder settings, then Sprint Folder Settings to open the Default Settings for Sprints modal. * From this modal, you can click the Automations tab to enable or disable any Sprint Automations. By default, When Sprint ends then Mark Sprint as Done is enabled. This can't be disabled. The Sprint Automation to mark sprints as done was permanently enabled for all new and existing Sprint Folders on all ClickUp plans on March 17, 2023. Settings configured in the Default Settings for Sprints modal are applied to all sprints created from this Sprint Folder. CUSTOMIZE YOUR SPRINT FOLDER SETTINGS The modal below will look slightly different if you have the Custom Sprint Durations beta enabled in your Workspace. To change your Sprint Folder's default settings: * Sprint name: Customize the name of the Sprints in this Sprint Folder. In this field, you can use the following variables: * {INDEX}: The default for this variable is sequential numbers starting with 1. In addition to a number, you can give the sprint a unique name. This field must include {Index}, and it cannot be edited after creating a Sprint Folder. * {START_DATE}: The start date of each sprint. * {END_DATE}: The end date of each sprint. * To include all Sprint name variables, enter Sprint name {INDEX} {START_DATE}- {END_DATE} into the Sprint name field. * Sprint Duration: By default, this is 1 week. You can choose another duration option. * Date format: By default, this is M/D. You can choose another date format. * Sprint timezone: By default, this is the timezone of the person who created the Sprint Folder. Other team members can choose the timezone that makes sense for them. This can be different than the timezone set in your personal settings. * Sprint Start Day: By default, this Monday. You can choose another day. * Start time: By default, this is 12 a.m. You can choose another time. * Non-working days: By default, this is Sunday, Saturday. Choose which days of the week your team does not work. These days aren't reflected in your sprint reporting as days when no work was done. * Measure of effort: The choices to measure effort are Sprint Points and Time Estimates. Only legacy Sprint cards support the use of the Story Points Custom Field. * Sprint forecast options: These settings will be used by our new Velocity, Burnup, and Burndown cards to calculate your team's progress. These cards are coming soon! After configuring your settings click Save Settings. Updated 11 days ago WAS THIS ARTICLE HELPFUL?
