Very nice and elegant software and start of new series. Well by luck today I
took my raspi4 8gb with argon m2 case with 500gb ssd running esxi 7 at work and
unplugged that fan. I am going to install Proxmox 7 on it and inside a vm with
casaos. Probably gonna do it when I come back at home so as to flash bullseye
64bit directly on the m2 drive and on top proxmox and casaos. I will come back
with details on how it will work. In case someone asks why you do that the
answer is a simple one: because I can (and probably because through the process
I learn even more stuff)

I Saw It Online

Pretty cool. Kindof reminds me of Rancher or the App store in Portainer. But
easier to install for those not experienced with Docker. I like how it can
export a JSON file with your settings Keep a backup of those files to keep app
installs or reinstalls quick.

Casa is really new so not surprised it still has some bugs.
Depends on what exactly you're looking to do. Most of us I'd imagine are running
multiple things on a hypervisor e.g. Proxmox.
And then on top of that something like home assistant for the IoT stuff and
something like Portainer to manage a docker stack.

If you are looking for a free and open source personal cloud system then CasaOS
is the best option you’ve got. Just install it on a spare PC or home server to
use it as a Media Center. Since it supports Plex then you can do it easily. I
liked the way it works and app support is amazing. Any app that comes with a web
UI and Docker image can be installed on it. I hope they add more apps in the
pre-built store in the coming days, till then you enjoy what it has to offer
now.

This project needs more supported apps. The custom apps work, but it would be
nice to have a much bigger list of auto-install apps.
Also add support for Heimdall-style web shortcuts, custom backgrounds, and
dashboard customization and I’m all onboard.

CAN I USE CASAOS FOR FREE? ARE THE APPS ALSO FREE?

CasaOS is open-source and free. The applications in CasaOS also come from the
open source community, most of which are free. But it must be noted that some
applications also provide value-added services which may incur a fee.

DOES CASAOS COLLECT MY PRIVATE DATA/INFORMATION?

Project CasaOS started as a community-based open-source project which committed
to democratizing data and giving service control back to your hands. Hence we
will do our best to protect your data privacy.

I CANNOT ACCESS CASAOS.LOCAL AFTER I INSTALLED CASAOS, WHY?

You can use the host's IP to access, if you forget your IP, you can access your
router to query it, or use the client tool.

AFTER I INSTALLED CASAOS, I CAN'T ACCESS IT BY IP, WHY?

Please follow the below steps to run the test:

1. Log in to your system through ssh, enter systemctl status casaos, and check
the running status, if it is not running, use systemctl start casaos to
start. If it doesn't work, try reinstalling CasaOS.
2. If CasaOS is already running, you need to check your system's firewall
settings to see if the ports used by CasaOS are disabled. Enable the ports
if disabled.

I INSTALLED CASAOS ON RASPBERRY PI OS AND IT WORKS FINE, WHEN I TRY TO SWITCH
THE SYSTEM TO USB TO BOOT, THE SYSTEM FAILS TO BOOT. WHY?

We specially designed a switch to solve this problem. When the Raspberry Pi OS
is installed with CasaOS, please turn off the Automount USB Drive function in
the system settings panel, and then perform the transfer operation.

CAN I MODIFY THE WEBUI PORT OF CASAOS?

Yes, in the settings, modify the port you want to use, it will automatically
jump to the new port after the modification is completed.

I CAN'T LOG IN TO MY SYSTEM SSH IN THE WEB TERMINAL OF CASAOS. WHY?

Please confirm whether the account password you entered is correct. If it is
correct, please check whether the link from localhost is disabled in the SSH
settings of the system. If it is disabled, please enable it.

THE APP I WANT IS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE APP STORE, HOW DO I INSTALL A CUSTOM APP?

First visit https://hub.docker.com/ to search for the application you need, you
can get a docker run installation code from the application description. Copy
this code, open the application center of CasaOS, click "Custom Install" in the
upper right corner, and then click the "Import" icon in the upper right corner,
paste the previous code in the next window and submit. Next, you need to simply
configure the application's access port and disk mount, and finally, install
your custom app.

I HAVE INSTALLED A CUSTOM APP THAT IS NOT IN THE APP STORE. IS THERE A WAY TO
QUICKLY SHARE THE INSTALLATION METHOD OF THIS APP WITH MY FRIENDS?

We have designed a function for exporting Appfile, you can easily export your
app installation configuration. Simply export your Appfile and share it with
your friends, and then your friends can import Appfile through the custom
installation app Function via direct import.

CAN I IMPORT MY EXISTING DOCKER APPLICATION IN CASAOS? HOW CAN I MANAGE IT?

This feature is already supported in the latest version. Existing docker
applications will appear at the bottom of the Casa Apps list. You only need to
click Import and make simple settings to quickly import existing Docker
applications.

I WANT TO KEEP MY APPS UP-TO-DATE, CAN CASAOS AUTOMATICALLY UPDATE MY APPS?

We recommend that all applications are stable versions, so there is no automatic
update function at present. However, you can enable auto update through
third-party docker applications, such as watchtower.
