The Summit reflects the District’s goal of fostering peace and harmony in its schools and engaging families and the community in the promotion of kindness and empathy. With a theme of “Spread Kindness,” the Summit featured the performance talents of Fountain Roary Lions and Risley cheerleaders; addresses from Superintendent Dr. Barbara Kimzey and East senior Devin Klock – founder of the “A Kindness a Day” campaign and Colorado DECA president; and the introduction of the District’s Kindness Coaches, who work to promote harmony and empathy throughout the school year. A number of community partners joined representatives of elementary, middle and high schools in hosting stations that offered resources, gifts, activities and photo opportunities. In addition to a tidal wave of smiles and well wishes, all guests received a free Peace Summit.
