A teenager underworld figure has avoided death for a third time in just 18 months after being shot at up to 10 times while in his car in Sydney's west. Emergency services were called to Chisholm Road in Auburn after reports a parked vehicle and a house had been targeted by gunmen on Wednesday about 3pm. About 15 minutes later, police and firefighters were called to Atkin Street in Carramar, about seven kilometres from the shooting, to calls about a car in flames. The fire was extinguished by Fire and Rescue NSW. Khoder Hamdan, 19, was shot at up to 10 times while reversing a car out of a home in Sydney's west on Wednesday afternoon. It's understood he avoided serious injury. Picture: Supplied The target was understood to be Khoder Hamdan, 19, who was reversing his Mercedes from a property when at least two masked gunmen attempted to kill him. An associate of the Hamzy crime gang told The Daily Telegraph that police had warned the teen was in danger and to leave Sydney as there was a likely bounty on his head. It is not the first time Hamdan has been a target. He was also set upon in the same suburb in May 2023. About three months later he was shot at again in August while seated in a ute in Wetherill Park, also in Sydney's west, and suffered a gunshot wound. The incident on Wednesday afternoon also saw other cars and homes hit with bullets. The masked shooters are understood to have fled the scene in a silver Lexus, dumping it in Carramar and then setting it on fire. Residents told police they saw two men running away. Officers flocked to both scenes, with the Dog Squad and PolAir searching the area for the would-be killers, however, they remain on the run. Police say two masked men were seen running from a car fire nearby. Picture: Jonathan Ng Another car was found ablaze just before 5pm in Guildford. Police about 10:20pm were then alerted to another vehicle fire in Wetherill Park. They were told gunshots were heard minutes beforehand. It is unclear if the shooting is related to the Auburn attack. Police will hold a press conference at 10am AEDT on Thursday.
