THE BEST GLAMPING SPOTS IN ALL 50 STATES

Note: All travel is subject to frequently changing governmental
restrictions—please check federal, state and local advisories before scheduling
trips. This article was updated November 2021.

There’s nothing like immersing yourself in nature on a woodsy getaway where days
are wiled away hiking, swimming or kayaking, and where everybody ends their day
together around the campfire to trade stories and connect. But giving up your
comfy bed and other luxurious amenities from home (hot shower, anyone?) is not a
sacrifice we are all willing to make. That’s where glamping, which connects the
best of a nature getaway with a glamorous luxury escape, comes in. As it just so
happens, this trend is exploding and glamping accommodations are sprouting up
across the country, from tipis to tiny homes to cabins and campers. Here are the
best glamping spots in every state, based on popularity, price and sweet
amenities. Better yet: Each one can be easily booked via Travelocity.

ALASKA

You’re in Alaska for an adventure of a lifetime, right? Cabins are the most
popular way to glamp in the Last Frontier and the aptly named Alaska Adventure
Cabins, a collection of 16 abodes strung along the Sterling Highway, offer just
that. Think individually decorated units featuring free WiFi and parking, sofa
beds, flat-screen TVs and balcony or sofa bed on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula,
9,000-square miles of wilderness featuring glaciers, snow-capped mountains,
hiking trails, pristine lakes, and much more.

ALABAMA

Photo courtesy of the Cabins at Gulf State Park

Alabama may not be the first place you think of when you think of a beach
vacation, but maybe it should be! Gulf Shores, located only an hour southeast of
Mobile, is a stunning stretch of white sand beaches, and a nice alternative to
nearby Florida. The Cabins at Gulf State Park will make you feel like you’ve
arrived on a secluded island; each cabin is built on stilts and includes one
bedroom (or more, depending on which type you book) bathroom, and kitchen. After
kayaking, swimming in Shelby Lakes or hiking through a state park, dine at the
local restaurant or whip up dinner at your cabin to enjoy on your private
screened-in porch.

ARKANSAS

Photo courtesy of Oak Crest Cottages

Does it get any more romantic than spending the night in a treehouse?! The Oak
Crest Cottages & Treehouses are nestled in the heart of Arkansas’s majestic
Ozark Mountains. You’ll be a short hike away from the extremely photogenic Pivot
Rock and just a few miles from the wonderfully kooky city of Eureka Springs.
Built into the wooded landscape, the treehouses will surrounded you with lush
greenery, secluded from the chaos of city life, and let you relax in the jet tub
and in comfy beds!

ARIZONA

Photo courtesy of Under Canvas Grand Canyon

You might say Under Canvas (which makes several appearances on this list)
basically invented modern glamping. The Arizona outpost of this growing brand of
safari-inspired tents offers luxe accommodations near the South Rim of the
Canyon (and also in Lake Powell and Saguaro National Park). And by luxury, we
mean en suite bathrooms (shower, sink, and toilet), wood stove, private deck
and—in some cases—a viewing window above the bed for stargazing. Camping is the
most affordable way to glamp in Arizona and while Under Canvas will set you back
a little more than a pitched tent, we say it’s totally worth the splurge.

CALIFORNIA

Photo courtesy of Basecamp Hotel South Tahoe

The Golden State is blessed with breathtaking outdoors, but Los Angeles and San
Francisco remind us that doing California right means living it up in style.
That’s why Basecamp Hotel South Tahoe fits pampered travelers like a glove. The
location offers explorations within arm’s reach of Tahoe’s stunning trails, ski
slopes, and pristine waters. Meanwhile, the hotel offers tented rooms that bring
the great outdoors in: Think luxe bedding, high-speed WiFi, faux log fires,
picnic table, camping chairs, and in-room tents! It’s camping (the most
affordable lodging option in a very pricey state) done right.

COLORADO

Photo courtesy of Basecamp Hotel Boulder

Cozy-rustic meets trendy-chic at Basecamp Boulder, featuring a selection of
interesting amenities that “respect your budget,” including spa and sauna
access, and bike rentals. You could opt for a traditional hotel room but we
recommend the Great Indoors Room, where you’ll feel like you’re sleeping under
the stars, thanks to the full-surround mountain murals, camping chairs, and four
twin beds that are flush with the ground.

CONNECTICUT

The Nutmeg State isn’t exactly known for glamping, but we say this rustic post
and beam cottage qualifies. Tucked away on a quiet country road near Foxwoods,
this cozy one bedroom one bath is surrounded by trees and close to area
attractions including Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun
Casino, Mashantucket Pequot Indian Museum, the village of Stonington, and lovely
Billings Lake.

DELAWARE

Photo courtesy of Rehoboth Romantic Cottage

This romantic little cottage in Rehoboth is a great option for a double date
trip. With two bedrooms, a big kitchen, and a lovely garden patio, it’s got all
you’d need for a weekend away. Plus, it’s just a short walk to the Rehoboth
Beach Boardwalk so you can spend your days lazing at the beach before retreating
back to your cottage home-away-from-home.

FLORIDA

Photo Courtesy of Tiny House Siesta

These tiny houses pack a big punch on this Florida campground near Siesta Key.
The cottage’s minimalist design doesn’t mean they skimp on any amenities. Here,
you’ll find free WiFi, comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchens, and cheerful
Florida decor. Just a short drive from the famous sugar-fine white sands of
Siesta Key Beach, Tiny House Siesta also lies close to some delicious Sarasota
restaurants!

GEORGIA

Tucked into the mystical Blue Ridge Mountains, Canopy Blue Luxury Treehouse is a
stunning cabin-style retreat for your next Appalachian adventure. Start your day
with an exhilarating hike through Chattahoochee National Park, spend an
afternoon lounging on the bed-swing or cozy up by the fireplace, and then cap
off your evening with a dip in the hot tub! With mountain biking trails and
river rafting nearby, you’ll get to immerse yourself in nature knowing pure
luxury awaits you at the end of the day.

HAWAII

Just the name, Lavender Glamping on Mango Orchard, conjures up images that make
us want to book a trip to Oahu right now. But in particular, we love that this
tented abode offers a well-equipped kitchen, an outdoor tub/shower, lounge
chairs, and is within close proximity of the ocean including Pokai Bay Beach
Park, Lualualei Beach Park, Mauna Lahilahi Beach Park and Maili Beach Park. The
Dole Plantation is just 9 miles away so there’s tours of Hawaii’s official
“Pineapple Experience” as well!

IDAHO

Cabins are the most popular form of glamping in the Gem State, which is why we
love Angler’s Lodge, a hotel hybrid that functions as both a chic lodge and a
smattering of tipis in the woods. Each tipi is outfitted with two full beds,
Indian blankets, pine furniture, and close proximity to bathrooms and showers.
Of course, we wouldn’t blame you for choosing a chic lodge room (pictured). As
for the location, Island Park is just a stone’s throw from Yellowstone—think
buffalo, Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, and more.

ILLINOIS

So many reasons to love this little Cabin on the Creek tucked away in Southern
Illinois. For starters, it’s only 6 miles from hilly and jaw-dropping Shawnee
National Forest, 6 miles from the mighty Mississippi, and only two minutes to a
nearby winery. The cabin features a well-equipped kitchen plus TV with DVD
player. 2 bathrooms, a patio, and a sofa bed. You can also arrange limo service
into town—now that’s glamping!

INDIANA

Photo courtesy of Castaway Lake Side Canvas Cottage Tent

At first glance, you may be asking yourself if this campsite is actually in the
Canadian wilderness, rather than western Indiana. But alas! Castaway Lake Side
Canvas Cottage Tent sits along the shores of a tranquil lake six miles inside
Shakamak State Park. The cottage is covered in a canvas tent that extends to
provide a covered porch and looks like something you’d see at a luxury safari
site or wilderness retreat. With a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, you’ll have
all the luxuries you could want or need. Kayak or swim in the lake, hike through
the park, then lay outside your cottage and count the stars under Indiana’s
unspoiled night sky.

IOWA

Stunning Cabin Decorah, Iowa

One of this two-bedroom log cabin’s most attractive features is its outdoor hot
tub, which overlooks rolling hills as far as the eye can see. At Stunning Cabin
Decorah, you can dine out on the spacious porch and look for deer, or in cold
weather, cozy up next to the fireplace. If cabin fever hits, attractions like
Seed Savers Exchange Heritage Farm, Topping Goliath Brewing, and Laura Ingalls
Wilder Park and Museum aren’t too far away.

KANSAS

Photo courtesy of Worlds of Fun Village

Glamping? In Kansas City? You’d better believe it. While Worlds of Fun Village,
a family-friendly RV park and campsite, is actually on the Missouri side of the
state line,  it’s undoubtedly the place to be for family fun for both Kansas and
Show Me State visitors. The camp/glam ground puts the Worlds of Fun Amusement
Park right in your backyard, with options for tiny-house style cabins or
cottages, plus family-friendly amenities like an outdoor pool, picnic area and
barbecue grills.

KENTUCKY

Lofty Lodge on the Bourbon Trail

If sipping your way through Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail is on your bucket list,
keep reading! The Lofty Lodge is tucked neatly among the Kentucky bluegrass and
can sleep a crowd so it’s a great spot to bring friends. With deer hunting
trophies hung on the walls and a giant tree stump mixed into the great room
decor, it’s got a woodsy man-cave vibe that brings the outside in. Just a few
miles from a couple of golf courses, a state park, and—most importantly!—Maker’s
Mark distillery (get a designated driver!), you’ll have plenty to do during your
visit to the Bluegrass State.

LOUISIANA

This 3 bedroom, 2 bath log cabin is a real charmer and offers gorgeous sunset
views from its spacious entertainment deck. Sailors can moor their boats to the
cabin’s seawall and access the property directly from Toledo Bend Lake. Its
tranquil location near the Louisiana-Texas border guarantees peace and quiet.
Nearby adventures include float trips down the scenic Toro Bayou, complete with
easy white water, tall pines, and sandy beaches.

MAINE

We love these yurt-style abodes which offer a true glamping experience just
outside Acadia National Park. Acadia Yurts feature 2-bedroom cottages which also
include a soda bed, a well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, and patio. The
complex also offers a sauna and fitness center and is close to the town of
Southwest Harbor for when you feel like seaside strolls and lobsta’ rolls.

MARYLAND

A cabin in the woods that includes an outdoor hot tub? Yes, please! This western
Maryland hideaway boasts 2 bedrooms, a fireplace, barbecue grills, and a washing
machine among other amenities. Tucked away for plenty of peace and quiet,
visitors to the cabin are within 6 miles of Deep Creek Lake State Park and Deep
Creek Lake, Swallow Falls State Park and the Youghiogheny River.=

MASSACHUSETTS

Just when you thought New England couldn’t get any more charming, along comes
AutoCamp, a collection of smartly outfitted airstream trailers and luxury tents.
Already boasting several locations in California, AutoCamp Cape Cod not only
boasts chic abodes a stone’s throw from Buzzards Bay, it also offers onsite
extras like campfire chats, story hours, pop-up raw bars, movie nights, and
more. But back to those airstream trailers! Each is 31-feet long, can
accommodate up to three adults, and features a kitchenette and sitting area.

MICHIGAN

Cedar Creek Lodge in Saugatuck

Simon & Garfunkel sang “Michigan seems like a dream to me now” and a stay at
Cedar Creek Lodge will make you see why they did. Located in beloved resort town
Saugatuck, this rustic cabin sits just minutes from the shores of Lake Michigan.
The lodge also includes a pool but If swimming and watersports aren’t your
thing, there are two golf clubs down the street, mountain biking and hiking
trails nearby, and bike rentals on site. At the lodge, you’ll feel as though
you’re in a luxe Lincoln Log set, cozy and relaxing with gorgeous warm colored
wood. Unwind on the porch or by the fire pit after a long day spent enjoying the
great outdoors. With three bedrooms and a large living room, there will be
plenty of space for the whole family to spread out and be comfortable.

MINNESOTA

Tree House Glamping on Dixon Lake

Escape the city in style with a peaceful treehouse-cabin stay right in
Minnesota’s Northwoods. At the Tree House Glamping on Dixon Lake vacation
rental, enjoy your breakfast from the balcony overlooking untouched forest, or
let the stress melt away with a soak in the spa tub. This treehouse is right on
Lake Dixon, so swimming and fishing are just a stone’s throw away, while hiking,
and bike and boat rentals round out the offerings.

MISSISSIPPI

Tiny House by the Beach in Gulfport

This sweet Tiny House by the Beach is a perfect place to call home on the
Mississippi coast. Just steps from the shore, you can have the sand between your
toes at Gulfport Beach in just minutes from leaving the house. The kids will
love Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, a water park less than half a mile from the
property. After a day of fun in the fun, the Tiny House by the Beach will
welcome you home with comfortable, quaint quarters, and a cheery pastel façade.

MISSOURI

New Cottages in Branson

What does Branson have to offer, you ask? Where do we begin? There’s Silver
Dollar City, Marvel Cave, Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede… and so much more. If
you’re a music junkie, hit the famed 76 Country Boulevard where a string of
theaters hosts a plethora of different music acts and shows. For some time
outside, Branson has scenic Table Rock Lake, and if you want to escape to the
indoors, be sure to hit Branson’s Landing for shopping and entertainment. When
you’re ready to finally rest your head, the New Cottages offer free WiFi,
multiple bedrooms and big open kitchens. And the cottages are as family-friendly
as Branson itself: The homes are set on three acres of woods and feature a large
yard complete with a volleyball net, pingpong table, horseshoes, cornhole, a
fire pit and hammock.

MONTANA

Under Canvas Glacier in Coram

Cabins are the most popular form of glamping in majestically beautiful and
largely rural Montana. But if you’re visiting in summer, definitely stay with
glamping specialists Under Canvas who have staked out grounds just seven miles
from Glacier National Park. Their safari-style tents offer fancy amenities like
private bathrooms and private wood decks, deluxe suites with separate sleeping
wings, wood stoves and infinite stargazing. The camp is a stone’s throw from
Whitefish, an upscale resort town with a chic, cowboy vibe.

NEBRASKA

Dancing Bear Lodge in Fort Calhoun

Tall wood-beamed ceilings, a fireplace, and balcony bring the outdoors in at
this spacious, luxurious cabin. Dancing Bear Lodge also offers a hot tub,
fitness center, and outdoor pool on site, plus sights like the Mormon Trail
Center, Dodge Park, and Desoto National Wildlife Refuge are not too far away

NEVADA

It’s hard to believe this adorable tiny home in only 45 minutes from the ling!
ling! ling! of Vegas slot machines. Located in the heart of the Mojave along the
California-Nevada border, this Lilliputian abode offers desert tranquility just
3 miles from Sandy Valley Ranch (think horseback rides, bull riding, and more),
and 32 miles from the Mojave National Preserve and Spring Mountains National
Recreation Area. Imagine the stargazing!

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Tentrr Snuglife Camping

The Tentrr Snuglife Camping tents put the glam in glamping. Tentrr is a
fast-growing company that does a great job setting up tent sites so you have
everything you need for an enjoyable and luxe night away. At Snuglife Camping in
Wilton, the tent has a big comfy bunk bed, porch with Adirondack chairs,
firepit, and a nearby picnic table. Set inside Miller State Park, you’ll be
surrounded by Mother Nature and can spend your time hiking or wildlife watching,
knowing a plush tent set-up is waiting for you at the end of the day.

NEW JERSEY

At Mountain Creek ski lodge in Vernon, you can choose to wind down, or crank up
the adventure. On the relaxing side, choose from hiking, golfing, swimming in
the pool, soaking in the hot tub or booking some spa time. For a more
adrenaline-charged escape, choose from downhill skiing, snowboarding, snow
tubing or making a splash at the waterpark—all depending on the season, of
course.

NEW MEXICO

Photo courtesy of Hotel Luna Mystica

Retro airstream trailer meets the good life at Hotel Luna Mystica, a campground
and collection of vintage airstream accommodations that have all been expertly
upgraded for the traveler seeking a slice of rural luxury near Taos. Each of the
roughly two dozen trailers boasts its own name (like Soy Captain, Spartacus and
Frida), vibe and energy, but most importantly each one also has its own comfy
bed, bathroom, kitchen facilities, and front deck—perfect for all those starry
nights.

NEW YORK

The Graham & Co

The famous Catskill Mountains in Upstate New York offer something for everyone.
In the winter months, you’ll find some of the best East Coast skiing, snow
shoeing, and cider houses; however, summer is when the region truly comes alive
with a bounty of outdoor activities. Graham & Co is a lodge-style property
located in one of the most charming towns in the Catskills, Phoenicia. Here you
can fill your days floating down the Esopus Creek, fly-fishing on the
Beaverkill, hiking Tanbark Trail, or dipping into the Peekamoose Blue swimming
hole. Graham & Co.’s accommodations range from basic bunks with a communal
bathroom to motel-style rooms. The property itself has a fun, funky, laid-back
vibe and also a great pool scene.

NORTH CAROLINA

Tiny House Big Adventures

Set in the beautiful hills of North Carolina, you’ll find the aptly named Tiny
House, Big Adventures. As the name suggests, the property is quite small at just
339 square feet, but it offers all the amenities of a big box hotel. A nice
bedroom and open kitchen allow you to rest and enjoy breakfast at home, and the
fireplace in the yard is a great space to enjoy s’mores and happy hour. Nearby,
you’ll find plenty of adventure at Pisgah National Forest and Appalachian Ski
Mountain.

NORTH DAKOTA

Photo courtesy The Lodge at Van Hook

The cabins at The Lodge at Van Hook are perfect for anyone looking for a quiet,
secluded retreat. Modestly appointed, they prove you don’t need much to be
happy. With comfortable beds, welcoming living space and charming wooden walls,
you’ll unwind happily after a day of exploration. About 5 miles away, you can
swim or boat in the Van Hook Arm, part of the Missouri River. Crow Flies High
State Recreational Center is a 12-mile drive and offers a beautiful scenic
overlook with views of Four Bears Bridge and Lake Sakakawea.

OHIO

Photo courtesy Shipping Container Tiny House

If you’ve ever wondered how big a shipping container actually is, here’s your
chance to find out. This property, which had a past life moving goods across the
high seas, now sits in Dover, reimagined as a tiny house. This cozy one-bedroom
space also includes a kitchen, living room and bathroom inside its mint green
container walls. The house lies in a scenic wooded area, not far from the
Tuscarawas River. Nearby, you can go mountain biking, hiking and sailing, before
coming home to dream about the high-seas adventures your tiny house once had!

OKLAHOMA

Broken Bow has a reputation for being a beautiful, forested setting where you
can unplug and immerse yourself in the outdoors. It also happens to be the
gateway into Beavers Bend State Park. With Rowdy Rooster Cabin as your home
base, you’ll have prime access to lush wooded trails, wildlife sightings (think
black bears and bald eagles!), casinos and crystal clear lakes. The cabin itself
has plenty to offer, including four bedrooms, a spacious kitchen, lodge-style
living room, pool table, and hot tub.

OREGON

Photo courtesy of Tiny Digs Cabin

Cabins are the most popular form of glamping in woodsy Oregon and nothing
epitomizes cabin charm better than the trendy tiny house. And—surprise!—this
glamping option isn’t located in some far off state park or in a remote part of
the Oregon Coast, but rather right in the heart of Portland. These Tiny Digs
only 5 miles from downtown offer free WiFi, kitchenettes, premium bedding,
coffee/tea makers, self-parking and express check in/check out, and are located
on a tree-lined nook of land that offers glamping in the heart of the big city!

PENNSYLVANIA

Photo courtesy of Modern Tiny House

This Modern Tiny House has a great cabin vibe with woodsy décor and warm wood
finishes. The best part though, may be the spacious outside grill and seating
area set beneath a lighted pergola. Ideal for couples, this cozy retreat oozes
ambiance, so you may want to bring some food and games, and never even leave. If
you do chose to step out, you’ll find yourself close to the mountain trails of
both Pine Grove Furnace State Park and Caledonia State Park.

RHODE ISLAND

Photo courtesy of East Island Reserve Hotel

Just the location of this cottage collection is glam enough to make you want to
book it. Vineyards, polo fields, bird sanctuaries and beaches are all with a few
miles of this beloved Rhode Island property. There are 36 cottages to choose
from at East Island Reserve Hotel, and they run the gamut as far as number of
bedrooms to choose from. The cottages are bright and modern, and there is a
community pool in the complex for all guests to enjoy!

SOUTH CAROLINA

Photo courtesy of Charleston Tiny House

Charleston oozes old school Southern glam. From the Victorian-style, old-money
estates to the fancy boutiques along cobblestone streets, this South Carolina
town is just about as charming as it gets. A world-class culinary scene,
beautiful beaches and excellent shopping set Charleston apart from other
Atlantic Coast towns, and this tiny house is just the place you’re going to want
to stay while you explore. The house boasts a chic, well-outfitted kitchen and a
cloud-like bed snuggled under the A-frame ceiling. It also has a private garden
where you can enjoy your morning coffee as you listen to the birds and breathe
in that sweet Carolina breeze.

SOUTH DAKOTA

The Under Canvas brand was one of the first to really nail the glamping
experience, and now they have a campsite in South Dakota at the base of Mt
Rushmore. The stunning dome shaped tents include camping-chic sitting areas with
leather chairs, wood burning stoves for extra heat at night, and a bed set
beneath a clear partition in the canvas tent, so you can literally lie beneath
the stars. You can’t go wrong with any of the Under Canvas sites, but this Mt.
Rushmore location is truly something special!

TENNESSEE

Photo courtesy of Under Canvas Great Smoky Mountains

In the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, this Tennessee outpost of Under
Canvas campsites offers a variety of tent types so you can have a romantic
getaway for two or plan a trip with friends and share a huge tent. The amenities
are always pretty stellar with Under Canvas—think plush bedding, cozy seating
adorned with lodge-style throw blankets, wood burning stoves, and even an
on-site restaurant. The Smokies have so much to offer at any time of year, from
zip lining and hiking to skiing at Ober Gatlinburg and exploring Dollywood, so
it’s no wonder Under Canvas chose to set up camp here.

TEXAS

We hate to say it, but this Corpus Christi campsite is what Instagram dreams are
made of! With twinkly lights strung up for magical evenings, colorful bungalow
doors, and super cool dome shaped yurts, this campsite is downright adorable.
Camp Coyoacan has a fun pool area and grills for guests to enjoy and mingle
together. You really don’t have to leave the social campsite for anything—except
to swim in the ocean. The site is just a short walk from IB Magee Beach Park.

UTAH

Lodge life is by far the most popular way to get the best out of Utah, and by
that we mean soaking up the awesome red rock vistas of the Colorado Plateau from
the comfort of cozy accommodations. Enter the Red Cliffs Lodge, a charming abode
located on the banks of the Colorado River and just a stone’s throw from Arches
National Park. Think knobby pine furniture, private patios and kitchens in some
cabins, and a woodsy setting with stunning vistas within close proximity to the
restaurants and nightlife of downtown Moab.

VERMONT

Photo courtesy of Amee Farm Lodge

Anee Farm Lodge makes glamping in the cold winter months a dream. Plan your next
Killington ski trip and stay in one of the lovely rooms at this lodge. Better
yet, plan a big group trip and book the whole place! Set on the banks of a
private pond, the setting couldn’t be any more serene. The rooms are
country-cottage chic with exposed beams and you’ll find fresh flowers on the
nightstand. Plus, we hear that the innkeeper makes a killer breakfast and may
even whip up a batch of chocolate chip cookies if you’re lucky!

VIRGINIA

Photo courtesy of Chincoteague Island KOA

This airy, bright yellow island cabin is about as picturesque as it gets. The
cheerful Adirondack chairs on the front porch draw you in, and the spacious
interior welcomes you to stay a while. It sleeps six so it’s perfect for
families or a group of friends. With a kitchen and outdoor grill, you can enjoy
cooking together and eating meals family style. Spend your days playing catch
outside, swimming in the pool or strolling along the beach. There are wild
horses roaming free on Chincoteague Island so be sure to venture out one day to
spot them.

WASHINGTON

Photo courtesy of Private Hand Crafted Country Tiny House

Ditch the hustle and bustle of Seattle in favor of this darling country house
only 12 miles from Olympic National Park. Country homes are the most affordable
glamping option in the Evergreen State and we can see why people love them. This
one includes a kitchen, living room and dining area, plus a patio, fireplace,
TV/DVD player and more. We love the lofted sleeping area and knotted pine
furniture.

WEST VIRGINIA

When we hear the word “chalet,” we usually think of cozy alpine house in
Switzerland—not West Virginia! But when we saw Moosie Chalet, our jaws hit the
floor. With four bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths, this stunning mountain
abode belongs in its own category called “Chalet Mansion.” Located in the
Appalachian Mountains, you’ll be close to great skiing, Blackwater Falls and
Dolly Sods Wilderness Area. After plenty of time exploring the outdoors, you’ll
be thrilled to come home to the chalet of your dreams, grill out, shoot some
pool and simply relax.

WISCONSIN

Heartwood Conference Center & Retreat

Set on 700 acres of natural woodlands that include two private lakes and the
nationally protected Namekagon River, Heartwood Conference Center & Retreat
makes for a serene escape to nature. Book a room at the lodge, opt for a duplex
cabin or rent a cottage—each puts you within easy reach of the wilderness
retreat’s many activities like kayaking, canoeing, tennis, volleyball or
swimming at the on-site beach.

WYOMING

Photo courtesy of Buffalo Valley Ranch

Experience the West the way people did 150 years ago—under the stars in a
covered wagon or tipi. The Buffalo Valley Ranch along the Buffalo Fork River
puts you at Grand Teton National Park’s front door, with the Grand Tetons as
your backdrop, and can help you arrange horseback riding, float trips, guided
fly fishing and trail hikes to better enjoy all the best scenery in the area.

Worlds of Fun and it’s village is in Kansas City, Missouri, not Kansas.
Please correct this and actually include a Kansas submission that is
     actually in the state.

I was thinking the same thing. Why is it that an article can be written
and include anything about Missouri/Kansas and get it so horribly wrong.
Worlds of Fun is in Kansas City, Missouri. The name may have the word
“Kansas” in it but it’s not in Kansas. Kansas has attractions of its own
and if you can’t find any, well….there’s that! Please fix this! This is a
horrible sore spot for Kansas Citian’s.

FYI… The “glamping” you have listed for Kansas is actually in Missouri. How
did that get past the editor? I suggest

This is a thrown together weak attempt with only a few real “glamping”
options and the balance of them miss as badly as your placement of World’s
of Fun. Really, you should get out more and verify your story. Just saying.

Your thumbnail photo for Utah is (not actually Red Cliffs) — as it’s the
same photo as one shown in Idaho’s (Angler’s) gallery… which is which?

The Amee Farm Lodge in Pittsfield, VT has been closed. It is not located in
as serene a spot as you indicate either. It’s right on noisy RT 100. I
lived within a mile of the place.

Mt Creek in Vernon, NJ is not a “glamping spot” whatsoever. It is located
on a busy highway right on Rt 94. I would not consider that a get away.
Maybe for winter skiing, but not for summer enjoyment unless of course, one
leaves the bustle of the city.

Huh? You call this list of travel accommodations “glamping”? Get real! The
majority of them are nothing but hotel or motel rooms, houses, B n’ B fare
and cabins. Aside from sleeping in a comfy bed, hanging out in a hotel or
cottage isn’t even remotely like glamping. This is nothing but vacationing
and if it’s the best you can muster up for a list of true glamping
locations you’re in the wrong business, and definitely not a place to book
an actual glamping experience. This is disappointing and pathetic.

In LA there is numerous glamping sites in St. Bernard and in St. Tammany
Parishs that are true glamping but you put a house in Baton Rouge instead.
Check on things first or change your headlines, most of these places aren’t
     glamping.
