Please be aware that group bookings affect our availability.  Please make a
booking request and we will advise if your stay is confirmed. Thank you for your

Welcome to TASC!

 * Our fabulous lodge is at Tukino Ski Field, on the eastern side of Mt.
   Ruapehu.
 * Access is via the Tukino road, turnoff from the Desert Road 25km north of
   Waiouru. During the winter season access is 4WD only, but mountain transport
   can be arranged from the 2WD carpark.
 * TASC is an excellent base for snow sports, alpine tramping, photography, rock
   climbing, ice climbing, mountain biking on the access road, or simply
   relaxing.
 * Casual visitors and groups welcome!
 * We are affiliated to the New Zealand Alpine Club, and NZAC members are
   entitled to complimentary TASC membership.
 * Become a TASC member Support the club and receive discounted accommodation
   and ski passes, plus two free summer nights.


ACCOMMODATION RATES 2023/24

The 2023/24 Summer season is underway, winter rates will apply from the
beginning of the 2024 ski field operations, usually late July.

ABOUT US

The Tukino Alpine Sports Club is one of three lodges at Tukino Ski Field, at
1700m on the eastern slopes of Mt Ruapehu. Being on the eastern side of Mt
Ruapehu, Tukino enjoys relatively calm conditions, sheltered from the prevailing
westerly winds, and warm sunshine right from the early part of the day.

A winter’s evening at the lodge

We provide affordable and comfortable accommodation on the mountain for our
members and guests.

Casual visitors and non-members are welcome. Groups enjoy TASC for the outdoor
activities and training exercises. 

We think the Tukino area is truly magic. From its position on a ridge, our lodge
offers stunning views of Mt Ruapehu to the west and the Kaimanawa Ranges and
Lake Taupo to the east and north.

TASC is being constantly upgraded, we prioritise being environmentally friendly
and ecologically minded. 

We have a vision for the ski field please let us know what you think.

Membership of TASC is open to anyone. If you are just interested in being kept
up to date with the happenings at Tukino and TASC you can sign up to be a Friend

 * UPDATE WINTER 2024
   
   Tukino Skifield is is close to opening for the 2024 season.
   
   Lodge accommodation is moving to Winter catered rates, however conditions can
   be Summer or Winter. Please be prepared for either.
   
   We are putting together our Summer Works Program for 2024/25. If you are keen
   to be involved in working bees please get in touch.
   
   Check back for updates here and on Facebook or Instagram.
   
   If you would like to check the Road Conditions in Winter please phone the
   lodge on 06 825 8118, Extn 5. In Summer please email bookings@tukino.nz
   


 * SUMMER WORKS PROGRAM 2024-25
   
   The following working bees have been set for 2024-25. These will cover our
   major works projects as well as general lodge and skifield maintenance.
   
   All abilities are welcome from painting to plumbing. Accomodation is provided
   and we always enjoy a social meal together.
