Hannah here. I am the one person diver, shucker, sorter, photographer, scout,
packer, shipper and customer service agent behind Wild Ocean Pearls. Something
you may not know about me is that I have been living off-grid for more than 10
years. The values that drive my choice to manage my own electricity, water and
waste are the same that back my ethical company. What does that mean? Before
profit, comfort or beauty come SUSTAINABILITY and RESPECT. So sustainability in
limited harvesting of blue mussels by hand. Respect in honoring the beautiful
animals which produce precious gems for us by using all of the gifts they give.
Scallop pearls that end up here are all byproducts of the seafood industry,
nothing wasted. Respect for the Fishermen and Women who become my friends
because of our shared passion for the sea and my commitment to offering a fair
price for the gem quality natural pearls they entrust to me. Ethical in that I
only sell pearls for which the origin is known and guaranteed, harvested by my
hands or a hand which I have shaken. Sustainable because my 200sq ft home office
is powered by solar panels, fed by rainwater tucked into a forest which loves
our small footprint. Shaded by trees that appreciate that all of my packing
material is post-consumer, upcycled, dumpster-doven, hand made and just shuck
full of love and good intentions. Thank you for choosing to supporting my
