WHAT IS BIOELECTRONIC MEDICINE?



Bioelectronic medicine is an evolving field in which new insights into the
regulatory role of the nervous system have resulted in new approaches in
treating an increasing number of conditions.

The rapidly advancing field of Bioelectronic medicine incorporates both
*Photobiomodulation and vagus nerve stimulation.  It encompasses non-invasive,
low level laser therapy and low level electrical stimulation of the vagus nerve
as cutting edge approaches for difficult to treat conditions.

*The term Bioelectronic medicine is an umbrella term covering an increasing
number of non drug interventions in medicine.  We specifically use both
photobiomodulation and Vagus nerve stimulation in our treatment protocols.

PHOTOBIOMODULATION

Photobiomodulation (PBM), (aka low level laser therapy) describes the
bio-chemical reactions that occur in living cells, in response to light. 
Treatment using PBM is used to speed recovery from injury, to improve
inflammatory conditions and to restore microbial balance.

DEPRESSION

Positive responses to bioelectronic medical approaches exceed 90% (within 4 to
17 weeks of treatment).  Extensive research has indicated minimal side effects

New hospital based cutting edge research, shows much promise (where little else
does) in treating patients with TBI / CTE / PTSD.  At Bioelectronic Medicine we
use the same Vielight system as used in the majority of studies carried out in

HEADACHES AND MIGRAINE

Low level laser therapy and/or trans auricular vagus nerve stimulation (tAVNS)
successfully treats most migraines and many headaches.

Pain Management
There are multiple advantages over medication, physical therapies and sometimes
surgery, though they all have their place.

Medically Proven
PBM (aka low level laser therapy), has in excess of 30 years of medical and
scientific evidence, thousands of published reports and hundreds of clinical
trials. In 2019, an average of 37 studies a month were published.

Treats the causes
It’s important to note that PBM treats the underlying causes of pain not just

Dr Paul Brunton is unique in New Zealand, holding degrees and registrations in
both chiropractic and medicine. Although no longer practicing in the medical
domain, he maintains a passionate interest in medical conditions that ‘fall
through the cracks’. He sees himself as complimenting what is currently out
there and spends upwards of 20 hours a week on the computer updating his
knowledge.
