HISTORY

Homer, Ohio is known as the birthplace of Victoria Woodhull, the first woman to
run for President of the United States in 1872, a full 48 years before women had
the right to vote.

The Homer Public Library traces its origins to January 30, 1895, when A. H.
Wright, T. N. Dean and others met in the Homer Town Hall to organize a Reading
Circle which they named the Homer Library Association.

FREE SEEDS AVAILABLE FROM POLLINATOR PATHWAY OF LICKING COUNTY

Thank you to Licking County Pollinator Pathway for donating a seed library of
native Ohio plants that were hand-collected and packaged! These seeds are now
freely available to "check out" by our patrons interested in creating or being a
part of a pollinator friendly habitat.

Nature Investigators Backpacks from the Licking Park District are now available
for check out at the Homer Public Library! Kids and their families can read and
explore nature with these special backpacks. For every five books completed,
kids will receive a prize!
