ABOUT LUCAS RICHIE

Dr. Lucas Richie is an American Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who has been
with Premier Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine which became Hughston Clinic
Orthopaedics since 2014. Dr. Richie is originally from Dayton, Ohio. He
graduated cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He then went onto
complete his medical education at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
Upon completing his graduate degree, he completed a five year orthopedic surgery
residency training program with Michigan State University/Western Michigan
University and spent the last year as Chief Resident. He was then fortunate to
return home and complete an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship with Beacon
Orthopaedics where he was able to pursue his passion for orthopedic sports
medicine. This specialty training gave Dr. Richie to work with athletes of all
ages and activity levels ranging from a state champion high school football team
to the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball.

Dr. Richie works as a general orthopedist with multiple locations around the
Nashville area in order to best serve his patients. He takes great pride in
helping patient return to the activities they love. He sees and treats all
orthopedic conditions from traumatic injuries and fractures to back pain, hand
conditions, foot and ankle, and sports medicine, and even including MAKO robotic
assisted joint replacement. He has a special interest in minimally invasive
arthroscopic surgical procedures of the shoulder and knee with cartilage and
joint preservation/restoration. Dr. Richie also offers cutting edge techniques
such as orthobiologics. Dr. Richie also serves as the official team physician
for Mount Juliet High School and Cross Hit Baseball Academy. He enjoys being a
part of the community and the excellent athletic programs.

In his life outside the clinic and the OR, he enjoys being with his wife
Kristina and children, Parker, Preston and Piper. The Richie’s enjoy traveling,
being outdoors, hiking, boating and sporting events. Dr. Richie’s Specialties

Dr. Richie did my knee replacement surgery. I was able to get in to see him in a
short time frame and surgery was scheduled within a month. He is a very skilled
surgeon and will be my go to Ortho surgeon. His medical assistant, PA, and

Just want to say Dr.Richie to me is the best in the business. I injured my
shoulder in two different places and with the great experience and expertise Dr.
Richie got me back in tip top shape. I tore my Rotator cuff and after he
performed his miracle working surgery with the patch in less than 90 days I’m
back to full range of motion. No pain medication. Dr. Richie and his amazing
staff treats you with kindness and respect. So considerate to anything you need.
Make you feel like family, not just another patient. Highly recommend Dr. Richie
for any shoulder advice, and definitely surgery. Never felt pressured about
anything, he walked me through everything I needed to know. You will find out

Doctor Richie has been my doctor since I was ten years old. I couldn't ask for a
better doctor and surgeon. He has always helped my ankles heal from growth plate
fractures and I recently tore my meniscus and had surgery to fix it! He did
absolutely amazing and explained everything that was going on very well and did
not stop until he was able to fix it. The healing has been very quick! He is
also an amazing teacher and explains everything in a way that makes you feel
optimistic about what is going on. He is so amazing and I totally recommend
going to him for any ortho problems.

Dr. Richie performed orthopedic surgery on my son. Upon entering the er we had
to make a vital and rapid decision to undergo surgery. Upon making the decision
to move forward with the surgery, Dr. Richie was very thorough, precise and
transparent. Dr. Richie came highly recommended so we proceeded with the
surgery. Dr. Richie and his team were very thorough, consistent and accessible.
Post surgery, Dr. Richie and his team were very involved with communication and
resources for physical therapy, conditioning and training. Because of the
recovery plan, resources and recommendations my son has recovered at an

because of a work related injury. This man could have written me off after my
first visit when the x-rays didn't show anything wrong. Instead he kept looking

Dr. Ritchie was on call in the emergency room at Vanderbilt WC Hospital when I
went in after a fall. He was needed for correctly reading a CT scan done on my
hip and assessed it quickly. When I met him for an appointment to follow-up, he
put me completely at ease and was very thorough in assessing the root cause of
my pain. I also appreciate that he has scheduled PT for me to strengthen my
hip/leg and a follow up appointment review after I finish. I highly recommend

I now have had no problems AT ALL with that knee. I went back a few days ago for

My son tore his labrum in his shoulder playing football. We were referred to Dr.
Lucas Richie by the team trainer. We were able to get an appointment the next
day. Dr. Richie was friendly and did a thorough exam. As an athlete, you want to
return to the field as soon as possible, but safely. This is also Dr. Richie’s
goal. He explained all of the options that we had in a way that we could easily
understand. The surgery was successful and Dr. Richie explained everything that
happened and what to expect going forward. The follow up appointments have been
thorough and he takes the time to answer any question that you have. The office

Dr. Ritchie is hands down the best Orth in Nashville and all surrounding areas.
I have dealt with the bigger Ortho's downtown, and nothing will ever compare to
Dr. Richie. He worked with both of my boys Bryan (Football at UT Knoxville) Cam

What can I say about Dr. Richie that would do him justice? There are no amount
of words that can explain how amazing he is! I completely shattered my ankle in
April and he was the doctor that was assigned to me in the emergency room. I
thank God every day he was! He completely put my ankle back together and saved
me from having to have another surgery. He has amazing bedside manner and
genuinely cares about his patients. How many doctors can you say that really
care about their patients and take the time to ask questions and sincerely care
about the recovery. Well 100% Dr. Richie is that doctor. God forbid I ever have

Dr. Richie did emergency surgery on my compound fractured ankle 8/07/2019. His
expertise in orthopaedics along with his bedside manner is nothing less than
phenomenal. Three months after the ankle had three broken bones, a bone
protrusion, and torn ligaments it feels normal like nothing ever happened
despite 12 screws and a plate. My hat is off to Dr. Richie and his staff. I'm
certain as to where I will go for my skeletal needs.

Having had a bad fall on memorial weekend Dr. Richie was on call. Ended up
having to have 35 stiches in my leg and had a broke arm. Couldn't have ask for
better care from Dr. Richie and the hospital staff at tennova they were great. I

suggestions. In response to my more conservative nature, rather than throwing a

Lucas riche is outstanding! Takes time to explain everything to his patients and
their families. My mom broke her hip in June and she was terrified. She is 83
and he did her surgery on it and she is in better shape than before the break.
She later broke her wrist and sh said take me to Dr riche. He is an absolute god
send and a wonderful person as well as a dr. He also has a wonderful nurse named
Megan. All his staff is great! Thank you dr riche! We recommend him to anyone
who wants good results

Dr. Richie is an exceptionally skilled orthopedic surgeon and an extraordinarily
kind person as well. I fractured my tibia & fibula 5 days before Christmas a few
years ago. He was glad to take care of me in the midst of a busy holiday season.
He kept me well-informed throughout the entire process of the diagnosis,
prognosis, surgery, and follow-up appointments post-op. It's quite apparent that
Dr. Richie chose to be a surgeon because he cares about the well-being of his
patients. I would recommend him to anyone that needs orthopedic care for the

As a physical therapist, I had the opportunity to treat Dr. Richie's patients
before needing his services for my family. I was always impressed with his
outcomes and communication with me. Then my son broke his tibia/fibula while
home from out of state college. Dr. Richie provided exceptional care to him and

thorough in addressing all of our concerns and educating my son on his injury
and care. When my mom needed rotator cuff repair, once again he went above and

My 19 year old son had cut the tip of his left index finger at work with a
utility knife. He had actually chipped the bone a little bit. Dr. Richie was his
surgeon. Dr. Richie has a wonderful bedside manner and did a phenomenal job with
the surgery. We could tell he genuinely cares about he situation, being
meticulous about the whole ordeal. I cannot recommend Dr. Richie highly enough!

I fell over a speed bump and shattered my knee cap into 8-10 pieces. Dr. Richie
very skillfully wired around the patella and inserted 2 pins. After 4 months of
intense physical therapy and a second surgery to remove the wire and pins, I am
back to normal activity with no limp. The bone alignment was almost perfect. Dr.
Richie and his staff were very attentive and compassionate to my needs and
accessible at all hours. Thank you for the excellent care. I would certainly use
