ABOUT


Alex Craighead and Theo Coles have more than forty years of combined experience
in winemaking, marketing and viticulture across various climates and cultures
spanning New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. This expertise
ensures a knowledgeable, dynamic and adaptable approach within the world of
wine, allowing us to build effective, tailormade strategies and solutions to
meet the needs of every client.

Craighead and Coles operate an urban winery in the centre of Christchurch in New
Zealand, and we consult to clients all over the world, from boutique to
large-scale commercial operations. 

We offer a range of winemaking, marketing and viticulture services. No project

 * Own brands
   We can tailor-make your preferred style of wine for your own brand, or help
   you create a new brand. 
   
   

 * Contract winemaking
   We offer winemaking services in the South Island of New Zealand, ranging in
   production from 5,000 to 100,000 bottles.


 * Winery setup and design
   Working with experienced architectural companies, we provide clients with
   winery design and flow management, with particular consideration of space
   optimisation and efficiency, both time and environmental.


 * Equipment sourcing and importation
   We partner with several of the top wine equipment companies globally to
   source equipment, both new and second-hand, to best suit your requirements
   and budget.


 * Winemaking consultancy
   Whether you require assistance with blending or a complete wine style design
   and implementation, we have you covered. Our expertise ranges from low
   intervention to traditional and modern methods. 


 * Viticultural consultancy
   From vineyard setup, spray programmes, varietal selection, canopy management
   and pruning, we bring experience from hot, cold, wet and dry climate
   viticulture. 


 * Staffing
   We can help with all your staffing needs, sourcing experienced winemakers and
   viticulturalists for short- and long-term placements. 


 * Wine sourcing
   Working with our network of connections around the globe, we can assist you
   with blending, sourcing and elaboration of wines from around the world.
