Regarding the June 20 editorial, “Out in Front”: Stony Brook Southampton
Hospital, as part of the Stony Brook Medicine health care system, continues to
lead in expanding access to world-class health care throughout the two forks.
The hospital is a primary stroke center and the first on the East End to be

I watched the Southampton Town Board work session this week and was dismayed to
hear the same old song-and-dance, this time addressed to the BESS facility
controversy. Janice Scherer described the beneficial reason the town decided to
allow BESS facilities to be built in the town: to allow growth in the use of
green power sources and to protect people east of the Shinnecock Canal from
