And “Large plan” (up to 15 devices) is even more pricey – $11.50/$137.95
respectfully (after 15% discount). Qustodio “Small plan” price is $4.58 per
month or $54.95 per year (you can protect with it up to 5 devices). Ratingsīoth

XCODE FOR MAC MINI

Some even label it as the cheapest Mac going (although you will have to factor
in the cost of a monitor and keyboard and mouse – but you probably have them
anyway). The Mac mini is an attractive device and it’s quite affordable. The Mac
mini enjoyed an M1 chip in November 2020, although Apple still sell some model

were limited to 2 cores. Theres also an argument to be made that the 2012 Mac
mini is better than the 2014 Mac mini, if you get the right version of the 2012
one.

8 GB is survivable, but 16 GB+ is better.

KEYPAD FOR IPAD

It’s great that there’s some flexibility here, but truth be told, the maximum
angle is the best angle. Yes, technically you can pivot the top hinge to reduce
the iPad’s angle to perpendicular and, in fact, beyond that into the acute zone.
Same deal with closing the iPad-it’s one motion, as you grab the top of the
screen and push down until the whole thing closes.

Like a laptop, you open it up in one motion, and both hinges extend as far as
they can and then stop. In everyday use, you don’t need to think of it that way,
because it works as a single mechanism. So don’t get too hung up on the fact
that the Magic Keyboard has two separate hinges, one at the back of the keyboard
plane and one a third of the way up the other plane. You could argue that the
design of the modern laptop is the result of four decades of evolution, pushing
the PC ever closer toward its ideal form. But the result isn’t some new, weird
floating-screen category of computer. It’s a clever design, one that pushes the
center of gravity of the combined unit forward, making it more stable (and
requiring less weight to counterbalance it). When the product was announced, so
many of us focused on that clever cantilevered design, in which the iPad floats
above the keyboard, magnetically attached to a hinged backplate. Instead, it’s
designed to provide a laptop-like experience. Perhaps the most surprising thing
about the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro is that it’s not designed like a laptop.
This is a product that isn’t for everyone, to be sure… but it’s exactly what
I’ve been looking for. It’s one thing for Apple to decide that it’s time to
offer a full laptop experience on the iPad-and an altogether different thing to
execute that vision.Īs I scrutinize the Magic Keyboard, it doesn’t fall apart as
if it were a dream-it holds together, solidly. The Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro
isn’t a dream, it’s a real product, one that’s sitting in my lap right now. But
dreams are amorphous things, and they fall apart if you begin to interrogate
them logically. This is basically my iPad dream, fulfilled. It’s also got that
trademark Apple fusion of software and hardware, thanks to a multi-touch
trackpad and the full cursor support of iPadOS 13.4. The new Magic Keyboard for
iPad Pro isn’t just a physical keyboard that adds laptop-style weight and
stability, though. Less than five years after the iPad Pro and Smart Keyboard
appeared on the scene, however, Apple has decided that it’s time for the full
laptop experience on iPadOS. When I considered the physical challenges of
converting an iPad into a laptop screen-Brydge’s design requires you to slide an
iPad into a couple of padded metal clips, and it has to be heavy enough to
counterbalance the weight of the iPad-I became more convinced that Apple was
never going to bother building anything that would just turn its thin and light
tablet into a heavy laptop. The Smart Keyboard was less stable when you used it
on your lap, and while the membrane keys were surprisingly usable, they still
weren’t a match for the real, physical keys you’d find on a laptop.Ī few
companies, most notably Brydge, offered accessories with a more laptop-like
experience. The arrival of the iPad Pro in 2015 crossed a threshold, and the
iPad rapidly replaced all the places where I once used my MacBook Air.Īs much as
the Smart Keyboard made it clear that Apple endorsed the idea of writing on an
iPad, and as good as the Smart Keyboard is, it still couldn’t quite match the
experience of using a laptop. In 2014 I was frustrated by its limitations, but
had started experimenting with writing on an iPad with Bluetooth keyboard.

GAMES FISHDOM 3

Yesterday's Cubetractor, in spite the somewhat retro feel of the graphics, is
quirky and different.Īnd the last time I posted a comment here I mentioned that
I would love to see any Fishdom reposts, so I was very pleased with today's
offering - apparently not a repost but a new game. On the other hand, we had a
second Gardenscapes (I loved the first one, it was the most addictive and fun
HOG ever). In the past month or so, yes, I had at least one GGOTD game give me
trouble (though it uninstalled just fine), one I needed to download 3 times, and
one that I got and just didn't like. Well, thanks to those four developments -
running a clean, restored to factory settings computer with Windows 10 on
U-Verse and using 7-zip - I's say my download speeds are astronomically faster
than they used to be. They gave me a gift card to balance out the installation
fee and the cost is lower than what I was paying before (for the first year at
least).Īnd I also went ahead and did that Windows 10 upgrade thing.

I also picked up the phone one day when it rang and someone from AT&T told me
their high speed DSL service was being eliminated and my neighborhood was being
migrated to U-Verse. I'd done one of those a year before and had all my older
data saved to DVD restore discs but they would not unpack normally so I checked
for alternate methods and downloaded the free 7-zip. Since there seem to be a
few negative comments from people with problems, I thought I might balance
things out and share my positive experiences.Ī month or so ago I had an
unresponsive mouse problem (not a positive experience) but an old friend's
daughter's friend's brother with fifty computer repairs to his credit got me an
updated mouse driver so I could save recent files and then I ran a complete
system recovery. Thanks so much to Playrix and GGOTD for this wonderful
diversion - I will be entertained for weeks, months. I've only worked on the
first tank, but as with other Fishdoms, will progress to designing themed tanks.
I also discovered something called Inventory, but have no idea of its function.
I noticed there are two kinds of levels: the gameboards and the progress levels
that unlock various fish/plants/ornaments/etc. I haven't figured out if there is
a place that shows me a list of my fish (I want to get pairs eventually, but
can't remember all their names and it's hard to catch up with them while they're
swimming). There is a lot going on which is almost too much but lots of fun.
This is so much fun!! I wish I could talk to my fishes, or as another person
commented: go swimming with them! The music is very similar to other Fishdoms,
and I usually lower the volume. but I jumped right into downloading then
playing. I was thrilled to see Fishdom 3, although it was so early in the
giveaway that no comments were posted. My beagle had me up early this morning
with his digestive issue, so I put him out and decided to check GGOTD.

BRINGER OF THE LIGHT MAGE DROPS

She sipped her tea a little and returned her gaze to the illuminated windows
opposite. A little of the city was visible on the left side and beyond that, in
the distance, the darkness of the countryside. Above, the night sky was black,
any starlight obliterated by light pollution.

Some of the lights were still on in windows and she could see one or two people
moving around. Most of the view was of the opposite wing of her apartment
building. She held it close as she walked slowly to the window to look out on
sleeping Exeter.įrom her window, she actually couldn’t see much of the city. She
picked the strainer out of her teacup and added a dash of milk, turning the tea
from the colour of dark glass to rich mahogany. She just used a scalpel instead
of incense. Communing with the dead to give answers to the living was one of the
oldest occupations, after all. At least she’d been able to turn it to something
useful to others. But she didn’t like thinking about her sister. She knew where
it came from, this morbid curiosity. She inhaled the rich, earthy aroma from its
dark interior as she watched the vapour rise from the steeping leaves, breathing
slowly and deeply. She poured the water over the leaves, set the kettle down and
picked up the jar of tea. She found herself staring at the wall as the kettle
finished boiling. Normal people didn’t poke dead bodies for a living and much as
she tried to pretend otherwise, she wasn’t normal. Much as she hated to admit
it, the combination of the mystery and the horror was utterly spellbinding to
her. As her hands worked by themselves to boil the kettle and measure the
leaves, she tried to keep from concentrating on the events of the night, but
without success. The tranquil ritual of preparation and the meditative wait as
it cooled before drinking. She knew it might keep her awake a little longer but
she needed it. It was past midnight and her limbs were trembling with tiredness.
She kicked her shoes off and pulled off her blazer before running her fingers
through her hair with a deep breath. She sighed and slung her bag down onto the
sofa in the gentle moonlight. With a plink, the element in the incandescent bulb
in the ceiling flashed and then rapidly faded like an ember removed from the
fire. Constance locked the door of her apartment and elbowed the light switch.

coverage, thus leaving huge gaps when surprised by a run. Kentucky’s offense
sans Levis plays into Vanderbilt’s hands since the run defense has been good
when they can focus on defending the run.

This should be a low-scoring, ugly affair.

aTm (+2) pulls off a squeaker in a game both teams try to give away time and
again. It’s a coin-flip Cripple Fight of a game, so give me the one that gets
points. The SEC Upset Pick of the Week: Those Grode Jar Cultists of aTm are
having a terrible year, but it could be argued the War Tigers are having an even
worse one. Kentucky’s not as good as they were at the beginning of the year, but
still. On top of all of that, we have many players out this week with injury.
We’ve all agreed that we want the season to be over now, right? I mean, the only
thing that has us coming back is habit, tradition, and the sinking feeling that
our shooty hoops team may not be the beam of sunshine we need coming out of a
sewage treatment facility malfunction of a feetball season (with an anti-semitic
position coach for a kick of extra flavor). Unlike the Vanderbilt-Kentucky game,
it will involve a team that is definitely not accustomed to temperatures in the
30s. Like the Vanderbilt-Kentucky game, that will involve frigid weather
conditions. The SEC Upset Pick of the Week: It’s ARKANSAS (+3.5) over LSU. Oh,
this is going to be a very bad football game, and I am here for it. In other
words, we have a high likelihood of Sickos Football. The weather forecast for
Saturday in Lexington is 35 degrees, a wind chill of 28, and snow “likely.”
This, for a game involving a Kentucky team that’s already kind of a bad offense.
Vanderbilt plays at Kentucky on Saturday at 11 AM.

NEXTCLOUD EU COMMISSION MICROSOFT ONEDRIVE

According to Nextcloud, Microsoft is limiting consumer choice and creating an
unfair barrier for other companies offering competitive services by pressuring
them to sign up and hand over their data to the company. Microsoft’s EU market
share has increased to 66 percent, while local providers’ market share has
decreased from 26 percent to 16 percent. Microsoft has achieved this by
significantly favoring its products and services, self-preferencing over
competing services, rather than by any technical edge or commercial benefits.
While self-preferencing is not unlawful in and of itself under EU competition
laws, a corporation can break the law if it exploits its dominating market
position. According to Nextcloud, Microsoft has effectively barred rival cloud
service providers by utilizing its position as a gatekeeper to expand its reach
in adjacent areas and draw consumers deeper into its ecosystems. As a result,
more specialized EU companies cannot compete on merit, because the key to
success is the capacity to distort competition and prevent market access, not a
good product. Nextcloud isn’t the only corporation that has expressed
dissatisfaction with its services. Microsoft’s integration of Teams with Office
has prompted Slack to submit an antitrust complaint in the European Union (EU).
This lawsuit is currently in progress.Īs a result, Nextcloud has petitioned the
European Commission’s Directorate-General for Competition to prohibit such
unfair behavior and maintain a competitive and fair market for all companies.
This is what Nextcloud is doing by filing a formal complaint with this body. In
addition, Nextcloud has requested an investigation into Microsoft from the
German antitrust regulator, the Bundeskartellamt. It’s also considering pursuing
a similar complaint in France with its partners. Several open-source, non-profit
organizations have joined Nextcloud in their complaint. The European DIGITAL SME
Alliance, the Document Foundation, which supports LibreOffice, and the Free
Software Foundation Europe are among them (FSFE).

The head of the Document Foundation, Lothar Becker, stated, “European citizens
should be able to choose their digital tools for creating, storing, and sharing
content, including using an open document format for their documents. Consumers
are forced to use proprietary software as a result of Big Tech’s actions, which
are predicated on their monopoly strength in the operating system space,
limiting their freedom and digital rights. We agree with the accusation about
anti-competitive activity and call on the EU to act quickly.” There will be no
misuse of Microsoft’s dominating position in the operating system and adjacent
markets (for example, by bundling, pre-installing, or leveraging extra Microsoft
services) while maintaining a level playing field. Microsoft also has to embrace
open standards and interoperability. This would provide European consumers with
the freedom to choose from a variety of service options that should compete
fairly on their merits.Customer data (also referred to as "your data" or "your
business data") means all data, including text, sound, video or image files, and
software that you provide to Microsoft or that's provided on your behalf through
your use of Microsoft enterprise online services, excluding Microsoft
Professional Services. It includes customer content, which is the data you
upload for storage or processing and apps you upload for distribution through a
Microsoft enterprise cloud service. When you use Microsoft 365 services, we
start with the assumption that our enterprise customers would like to have their
business data stored and processed close to home.įor example, customer content
includes Exchange Online email and attachments, SharePoint Online site content,
or instant messaging conversations.
