MY EDGE OF THE WORLD

The above painting is one that was included in solo exhibition last summer at
The Butter Market Gallery in Kenmare, Co Kerry.  Just a few months before that
show went up, I completed and exhibited a series of paintings inspired by
megalithic tombs, and specifically the court cairn at Rathlacken, in North Mayo.
This work was supported by a Visual Arts Bursary from the Arts Council of
Ireland and was exhibited in The Courthouse Arts Centre, Tinahely, Co
Wicklow during the winter of 2022.

All my life I have been an artist. I have used a variety of media including
paint, writing, video and performance as well as a long love affair with sound
media. My current work sees me  enthralled with oil paint and cold wax. I also
use peat ash and other dry media to texture in my work. Whichever media I am
engaged with I keep returning to one tool, my palette knife.

It is short, sharp and to the point.

Like myself.

If you would you like to to lean more about my work or painting processes, you
might enjoy watching some work in progress.   Because I have been painting for a
while, I made this video to give an overview of my work as a painter.  There are
other videos to explore as well, including this one I made exploring the
inspiration behind my tomb series which was completed during Covid. You can
access a videos here or using menu above.

When you have seen those, and if you like what you see, you would probably like
to learn more? To learn more and get access to restricted offers as well as
advance information about future exhibitions, please join my email newsletter .
