WHERE WE MEET

Accrington Masonic Hall is located on Adelaide Street just on the edge of
Accrington Town Centre. Freemasonry has been present in Accrington since the
early 1800's but we took residence in our current premises in 1921.

Prior to this, Bank Terrace Lodge met at the Hargreaves Arms (now the Grants)
adjacent to the Hall. King Oswald Lodge met at several locations in
Oswaldtwistle, with the main Hall location being on Albert Street in
Oswaldtwistle before moving to Accrington.

The Hall is home to three Lodges (a Lodge is actually a group of Members not the
building). In addition to our Lodge, The Lodge of Remembrance No.3787 and
Rhyddings Lodge No.5205 meet here. Two other Royal Arch Chapters and other
additional Masonic Orders also meet here.

The Hall itself is a large, multi use venue with in house catering, that is also
available for Weddings, celebrations and Community group use. Please visit

THINKING OF BECOMING A MASON?

Take a quick look at this video from the United Grand Lodge of England to give
you an overview of Freemasonry

Becoming a Freemason  is like going on a journey: from joining as an Entered
Apprentice, it typically takes 1 to 2 years to become a Master Mason, with the
three stages, each marked with a special Ceremony.

Joining is a chance to become part of something much bigger and to make a
difference not only to our own lives, but also to the lives of Non masons too.

Freemasonry heavily relies on symbolism, using these as reference points to
moralise upon.

Any man over the age of 21 may join. We do not discriminate on the basis of
ethnicity, sexuality or economic standing, although a belief in a 'Supreme
Being' in a pre-requisite for  membership. Students over 18 yrs of age may join
one of the Provinces University Scheme Lodges.

Charity is also a huge part of what we do, whether that is raising funds or
supporting local causes with our time, Freemasonry aims to make a positive
impact in our communities.

We are a socially active Lodge, with numerous family inclusive events across the
year to be a part of and enjoy.
