Even assign to anyone for “first come, first serve” WHY ARE WE PASSIONATE ABOUT CHORES? I’m Eriko Dott, the founder of MoneyMate, and I believe that chores are the best tool to help children learn responsibility. Increasing positive habits at an early age sets children up for success later in life. The Harvard Grant Study found that chores as children directly leads to higher success as an adult. Although there are other chore apps on the market, many are difficult to use and require children to have debit cards. Not all children are ready to have their own personal bank account. We designed MoneyMate to be inclusive for all children to make managing chores simple, even for younger kids. Our goal is to make managing chores easy and accessible for children of all ages. We want to help you give your kids the best chance at success in life and believe that starting chores from an early age is the best way to do it. My child doesn’t have an email to register. Can they still use the MoneyMate app? Yes! MoneyMate is available to kids who don’t have their own email address or mobile device. To add a child without an email to your account: 1) Navigate to your Settings by tapping the menu icon in the top left corner of your Parent Dashboard. 2) Tap “Add/Edit Family Members,” then click on “Add.” 3) Select “No” under the “Does your child have their own device to log in?” section. Note: the best way for a child to manage chores without a personal device on MoneyMate is by using a shared tablet singed into a parent account How can my children log in to the MoneyMate app? There are two ways: If your child has their own account, please sign up with the email address that you registered in Add/Edit Family Members. The app will automatically show the child screen. If your child does not have their own account, you can use a tablet. Please log in with the parent email and password. The app will show the shared child screen. What is the difference between chores and jobs? Examples of chores include “Doing laundry” and “Cleaning your room every Sunday.” Jobs are additional earning opportunities or tasks that are not considered chores. Examples of jobs include “Homework” and “Helping clean the grandparents’ garden.” How do I change my password? To change your password: 1) Navigate to your Settings by tapping the menu icon in the top left corner of your Parent Dashboard. If you are a child, navigate to your Settings by tapping the gear icon in the top right corner of your screen. 2) Tap “Change Password.” 3) Enter your email address and click “Reset password.” You will receive an email from us. 4) Once you receive the email, type in a new password and submit it. I can’t see the parent account in tablet mode. Tablet mode is only to manage children accounts at this time. Although you need to sign in to the parent account, tablet mode is designed for children to manage chores using it as a shared device.
