13:30 - 14:10

BOLSTERING RESILIENCE IN POWER GENERATION WITH DIGITAL POWER PLANTS

PANEL DISCUSSION

Power generation, like numerous other industries, is undergoing a significant
digitisation shift. Research indicates that even the most sophisticated
participants have only implemented a limited number of isolated digitalisation
initiatives, which often lack direct business value. Nevertheless, the
integration of new technologies with conventional methods can result in
significant advantages in the areas of energy efficiency, health, safety,
security, and the environment (HSSE).

DECARBONISING WATER ASSETS

INNOVATION SHOWCASE

The impacts of climate change are significantly harsher on global water
ecosystems. For water and wastewater utilities, aging networks, rising
population, and shrinking freshwater supplies are critical challenges that must
be addressed near-term to ensure long-term results. Rapid decarbonisation of the
water sector is imperative and achievable. What are water utilities doing to
decarbonise their assets and operations? Are these initiatives aligned with
SDGs? How does this impact long-term water security, particularly in vulnerable
communities?

14:30 - 14:50

ENSURING CLEAN TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION WITH TRANSPARENCY OF SUPPLY CHAINS

INNOVATION SHOWCASE

Investments in clean, renewable energy, often paired with co-location and
battery storage, uniquely benefit those pursuing Net Zero strategies. Market
participants must ensure their commodities meet local and international
standards, both locally and internationally. When green energy is used to
produce hydrogen (H2), its value significantly increases due to higher
commercial demand and additional production costs. Certification using
Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) ensures that throughout the
commodity's lifecycle, immutable protection is provided from non-clean
alternatives that will reduce its value. For exported H2, certification is
crucial for ensuring both export and import standards are complied with,
creating easy importation.

This session will examine how the UK is designing & implementing a best-in-class
system for a leading Commodity Certificate Scheme for Green, Blue & other colour
Hydrogen, including CCUS technology, that provides protection for Governments,
investors, producers, importers & exporters, as well as trade bodies and end
users.
