LS NETWORKS DATA BREACH INVESTIGATION

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating LS
Networks regarding its recent data breach. The LS Networks data breach may have
involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of
individuals.


ABOUT LS NETWORKS:

LS Networks is a telecommunications company based in Oregon. Founded in 2005, LS
Networks operates the largest fiber-optic network in the Pacific Northwest,
serving rural and underserved communities with high-speed connectivity and
market-leading bandwidth.2 Today, LS Networks’ carrier-grade network includes
over 7,500 route miles of fiber and extended reach throughout the Pacific
Northwest serving national and international carriers, ISPs, data centers,
schools, governments, healthcare organizations and businesses.2 Additionally, LS
Networks provides Ethernet and dark fiber transport to towers, with existing
connectivity to more than 500 on-net towers, with near-net proximity to an
additional 800 towers throughout the region.2 Headquartered in Portland, Oregon,
LS Networks employs over 50 individuals.


WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, LS Networks reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of
Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive
personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. In the
form breach notice, LS Networks does not elaborate on the nature of the security
incident that impacted its systems. Additionally, the exact type of personal
information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by LS
Networks. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal
information” can include the following types of information:

 * Name
 * Social Security number
 * Driver’s license or state-issued identification card number
 * Financial account number, or credit or debit card number, with or without any
   required security code, access code, personal identification number, or
   password

 

On July 31, 2024, LS Networks began mailing data breach notification letters to
impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Massachusetts
residents, LS Networks is providing affected individuals with a list of the
specific type of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary
identity monitoring services. A link to the form breach notification letter

Massachusetts is below.
