MERCHANTS
How do merchants make money?


Our merchant partners receive a revenue share for every protection plan sold in
your store. Merchants collect the full price of the protection plan at the time
of sale, and Extend then bills for the cost of the premium plus a service fee.


How long does it take to integrate Extend?


You can easily integrate your store with Extend through eCommerce platform apps
or our seamless APIs, so you can go live in weeks, if not days!


How does Extend make money?


Extend collects a service fee each time an Extend protection plan is sold. At
the time of sale, the merchant collects the full price of the warranty, which
includes the premium, Extend’s service fee, and a margin for the merchant.
Extend later bills for the premium and service fee, and merchants keep the
margin!


How do I know if my products are eligible for plans?


Extend covers all kinds of products, including electronics, appliances large and
small, sports and fitness equipment, auto parts, furniture, jewelry and watches,
musical instruments, and much more. Generally, any product that is susceptible
to mechanical or electrical failure or accidental damage is eligible for a
protection plan.

Who insures the protection plans?

Extend works with a network of top rated insurance companies to underwrite the
protection plans we offer. By working with a number of different insurers, we
can match products to the best protection plans, optimized for price, term, and
type of service. By tailoring protection plans for merchant's individual
products and customers, we ensure that our partners can maximize purchase
conversion, revenue, and most importantly – happy customers!

Does Extend cover accidental damage?

Yes! Certain products are eligible for accidental damage plans. This plan
provides coverage for accidental damage from handling (ADH), such as drops and
liquid spills. Our ADH plans are in effect from day one, and even extend the
mechanical and electrical coverage after your manufacturer’s warranty expires.

What if I need to return my product?


You return your product, the merchant returns the money you paid for the
protection plan. It’s a no-brainer. Depending on how much time has passed since
your purchase, Extend will issue a pro-rated refund.


How do I file a claim?

Filing a claim is easy! Just go through our virtual claims specialist, Kaley or
contact our customer service team. When filing a claim with Extend, you will
simply need to provide either your Extend contract ID, email address, or other
identifying piece of information.
