He is a Chartered Accountant who has provided advice on the delivery of capital and infrastructure projects for over 19 years. Robert is passionate about successfully delivering large scale complex projects and has a track record of success in both Ireland and Australia. He has worked in a range of sectors including transport, healthcare, energy, telecoms and digital, defence, education and water. Robert recently joined PwC and is growing a team with a global reach that takes a long term view on projects. His team includes accountants, engineers, economists and project managers who advise clients through the project lifecycle from strategy & planning through funding, financing, procurement and execution to delivery, operations and asset management. JERRY GRANT CHAIRPERSON - DUBLIN PORT COMPANY Speaker Bio Jerry Grant is an experienced Non-Executive Director & Strategic Business Advisor, specialising in the Infrastructure and general Utilities sectors. He is currently Chairman of Dublin Port Company, Director of Sport Ireland, an External Member of the Governing Body of TU Dublin and a Member of the Major Projects Advisory Group at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. He has set up and chairs Watershare Ireland, a partnership between GOAL and the Irish Water sector, which is helping to deliver water & sanitation projects in a number of developing countries. Jerry played a leading role in the establishment of Irish Water as the national water utility, was its first Head of Asset Management from April 2013 to February 2016 and thereafter was Managing Director up to September 2018. Prior to Irish Water, Jerry was Managing Director of RPS in Ireland from 2002 for 10 years, leading a successful infrastructure and environmental consultancy and prior to that was Director of MCOS from the early 1990’s, where he led a market leading water sector consultancy business. Jerry holds a First Class Honours Degree in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Contract Law & Arbitration from UCD, is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland, Fellow of the Irish Academy of Engineering, is a Member of the Institute of Arbitrators and Member of the Institute of Directors. He was the recipient of the President’s Award from the ACEI in 2017 for Services to Engineering in Ireland and in 2018, received the 2018 Irish Environment Award from CIWEM (ROI Branch), Outstanding Achievement Award from ICE (ROI Branch) and the Civil Engineering Contractor’s Award for services to the industry. BRIAN LEDDIN TD CHAIR - OIREACHTAS COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE ACTION Speaker Bio Brian Leddin is a TD for Limerick City and Chair of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Environment and Climate Action. He is Green Party spokesperson on Climate Action, Environment and Transport and also chairs the Green Party in the Oireachtas. Before being elected to the Dáil, he worked as a mechanical engineer in Limerick and was a councillor on Limerick City and County Council. Brian is an engineering graduate of the University of Limerick and also holds an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems Technology at Loughborough University. This group works with clients on capital projects throughout the project lifecycle from strategy through to delivery. He has been a partner at PwC since he joined the firm in 1999 and has over 20 years’ experience working on private and publicly financed infrastructure projects globally. He has advised governments, regulators, corporates and investors on infrastructure strategy, development and financing. On a sectoral basis he has led a multitude of projects across all aspects of transport (road, rail, airports and ports), power (nuclear and interconnector), social (hospitals) and environmental (water and solid waste). Richard has also worked in government (on secondment from PwC) leading a specialist PFI/PPP team in the UK Treasury. His role involved advising senior officials and ministers on PPP policy matters, interacting with the PPP market (contractors, lenders, advisers, and foreign governments) and troubleshooting on complex projects. Prior to joining PwC Richard worked for a listed infrastructure developer and toll road operator. Alongside his leadership responsibilities, Richard remains client-facing, advising PwC’s most high-profile infrastructure clients. He is a regular spokesperson on infrastructure financing and policy issues and has sponsored multiple reports and papers on developments in the global infrastructure market. Richard also works closely on PwC UK's outbound strategy into the key emerging markets of Africa, CEE and the Middle East. BERIT CHAVEZ MEINERTZ AZERI SENIOR INVESTMENT MANAGER, INVEST IN DENMARK - MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF DENMARK STEN HANSEN INFRASTRUCTURE ADVISOR - CITY OF HELSINGBORG, SWEDEN Speaker Bio Sten Hansen is an infrastructure advisor at the Mayor’s office in the City of Helsingborg, Sweden. He has a background in transportation engineering and planning. His career began in the Danish State Railway with strategic planning of new fixed link, he then worked as transport consultant focusing on the planning of railway projects in Scandinavia. The last 15 years he has been working with development on the infrastructure projects on the European TEN-T corridors linking together Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and the Baltics. He is responsible for the feasibility study of large tunnel projects in the City and a fixed link to Denmark. The city has 150.000 inhabitants, located at the Öresund strait, 4 km from Denmark. CATHERINE SHERIDAN CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER - EIH2 Speaker Bio An energy professional with 20 years utility experience, Catherine’s key focus as Chief Operating Officer with EIH2 is to help Ireland, and Europe achieve Net Zero 2050 through green hydrogen and energy system integration. A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Ireland; project manager and communications expert, her experience including site and contract management as well as commercial roles with national utilities. KEITH SIBLEY PROJECT DELIVERY PARTNER DIRECTOR - BECHTEL Speaker Bio Keith is a long-term Bechtel professional with over 45 years of in-depth program management, design, construction, commissioning, commercial, and project controls experience on large highly complex projects. He was most recently the Project Delivery Partner Director on the Crossrail Project in London. He was previously Project Director of the Spadina Subway Extension Project in Toronto and Stations Delivery Director on the Tube Lines Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly Upgrade Programme on the London Underground. He was Bechtel’s Regional Manager for New York. In his earlier career, he held positions of increasing responsibility on mega-projects in rail, highway bridges and tunnels, airports, and nuclear power. Garret previously spent five years with KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH in London, where he was responsible for originating and executing project and leveraged finance transactions in the UK, Europe, and North America. Prior to KfW IPEX, Garret worked for nine years at Depfa Bank plc in Dublin, where he initially focused on public-private partnerships/PFI, utilities, and leveraged finance in the UK and, in later years, managed a team responsible for restructuring and winding down the bank’s global infrastructure portfolio. Garret is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency department in Dublin. JAMES RYAN DIRECTOR - AA PROJECTS PATRICK CALNAN LEAD MARKET DEVELOPER - ØRSTED Speaker Bio Patrick is managing Orsted’s market entry for Offshore in Ireland. He is a Chartered Engineer with 20 years experience from project development, commercial development and portfolio management. He has worked in consultancy, development and gas generation but the majority of his career has been in renewables. He helped to establish the Brookfield Renewable portfolio in Europe building the commercial and power marketing function and setting up trading for the onshore assets. He was then responsible for growing the revenues for the portfolio via PPAs, ancillary services, retail and the capacity markets. He is currently working to establish Orsted offshore business in Ireland. PAUL DEANE ENERGY TRANSITION & INFRASTRUCTURE - BECHTEL Speaker Bio Since joining Bechtel, Paul has spent the past 20 years working around the globe on some of the world’s largest energy projects. Paul has worked on multiple mega-projects for the energy and water sectors including carbon transport and storage, gas treatment and hydrocarbon processing, liquefied natural gas (LNG), water and desalination, and pipeline projects. Paul recently returned to Ireland and has since been involved in the development of carbon capture and export / import facilities, data centers and offshore renewable energy and associated infrastructure. In his current role, Eoin is Head of Origination for Bank of Ireland’s renewable energy and infrastructure division. Tim has 7 years-experience with the Port company delivering large strategic infrastructural projects such as the recently opened €86m Cork Container Terminal. Tim is responsible for a wide range of activities across the Port such as planned dredging campaigns to maintain ship navigation channels and the procurement and maintenance of large port cargo handling equipment such as ship-to-shore gantry cranes to handle trade imports and exports. Tania joined CBRE Investment Management in 2021 from S&P Global Ratings, a leading global credit rating agency. There, she was most recently a Director and Lead Analyst within the Infrastructure Ratings team with responsibility for some of the largest issuers globally within the toll road, airport and rail sectors. Throughout her 14-year tenure within S&P, Tania held a number of senior positions within the Infrastructure and Utilities team and served as the leading EMEA corporate hybrid specialist. In these roles she focused on credit risk assessment, client relationship and criteria development for a range of infrastructure companies, including U.K. and European regulated water and network companies, as well as merchant and renewable generators. A native Bulgarian speaker, Tania started her career in corporate relationship management at ProCredit Bank (Bulgaria) JSC. Tania earned a BSc in Business Administration and Politics and International Relations from the American University in Bulgaria, and an MBA from Bayes Business School. Tania has authored several articles on Infrastructure and ESG-related topics. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
