1. Peak times of 4 pm to 7 pm are subject to change.
2. Please note that challenges may not run every month. We'll keep you informed
about when each challenge is available, and you'll need to sign up for each
one when EDF is running it.
Households can earn up to 16 hours of free electricity each week of the
challenge to be used the following Sunday. The amount of free electricity a
household can earn is subject to change. Free electricity will be subject to
a fair usage cap, and EDF will notify customers via the Energy Hub of the
fair usage cap at the start of each challenge. Our terms and conditions
include full details and eligibility, which will be shared before you sign
up to the challenge.
3. Savings based on October 2024 Standard Variable price cap, dependent on
household consumption patterns. Average saving of more than £800 per year vs
price cap assumes: a typical customer on a variable tariff (2,700kWh with
standard electricity meter) pays £883 per year for electricity (October 2024
price cap rate); Ofgem typical consumption, Direct Debit & national average
tariffs. But, with 10-12 panels, 3 kWh battery capacity & generating 2,700
pays £0 over a year, based on our October 2024 Empower & Export Exclusive
rates. Assumes that solar generation is prioritised to power the home with
excess stored in the battery. Battery discharge is prioritised for use in
peak hours. The battery is topped up using imported energy in off-peak hours
and discharges during the peak. Excess energy not used for the home/when the
battery is full, is exported.
4. EDF's EV tariffs are backed with zero carbon renewable electricity.
Electricity for EDF's GoElectric tariff comes from renewable sources like
wind, solar, biomass, tidal and hydroelectric. At the end of each fuel mix
reporting year, EDF will make sure they've purchased enough renewable
electricity from EDF owned renewable generation to match the total volume of
electricity supplied to all their customers on the GoElectric tariff. A fuel
mix reporting year begins on 1 April and ends on 31 March the following
year. UK Fuel Mix disclosure information published by the Government
(DESNZ), recognises electricity from wind, solar and nuclear fuel produces
zero carbon dioxide emissions at the point of generation. See EDF's tariff
table for more information.
5. Next day installation available in most areas based on engineer
availability, location and completing your order before 3pm
6. More details about how EDF are Britain’s biggest generator of zero carbon
electricity can be found here. Our fixed home energy tariffs are backed
yearly by 100% zero carbon nuclear electricity as standard. The UK fuel mix
disclosure information published by the government (DESNZ) recognises
electricity generated from wind, solar and nuclear produces zero carbon
dioxide emissions at the point of generation. The zero-carbon electricity
purchased is supplied to the National Grid. Customers receive electricity
via the National Grid, not directly from zero-carbon generators.
