CACC to Celebrate 20th Anniversary as Active NCAA Division II Conference in
2024-25 July 23, 2024 The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC)
officially began its 20th Anniversary as an active NCAA Division II Conference
on July 1. The conference will celebrate the 20th anniversary during the 2024-25
season and feature a commemorative logo.
Logan Stinson Named Second Team CSC Academic All-American July 18, 2024 Men’s
lacrosse standout Logan Stinson has become the 13th Wilmington University
student-athlete to earn Academic All-American status, as the College Sports
Communicators announced its four 2024 Academic All-America At-Large Teams for
all NCAA and NAIA Divisions. He was named a Second Team Academic All-American.
Wilmington Athletics Places 205 Student-Athletes on 2024 CACC Spring Academic
Honor Roll July 10, 2024 More than 2,000 student-athletes were honored by being
placed on the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Spring 2024 Academic
Honor Roll, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. A total of 2,123 honorees
made the list which recognizes student-athletes who earned a term grade point
average of 3.0 or higher during the Spring 2024 semester.
Softball to Host Clinic Sessions on August 10 at Asbury Field July 1, 2024 The
Wilmington University softball program, led by back-to-back NCAA East Super
Regional Champion head coach Mike Shehorn, has announced that registration for
its Camps at Asbury Field in August is now live.

Led by 20-year coaching veteran Kim Huggins-Habbert, the Wilmington University
volleyball team will be conducting a three-day Wildcats in Training: 2024

Men's Lacrosse vs. St. Thomas Aquinas A six-goal third quarter expanded the
Wilmington University men's lacrosse team's lead as it went on to a 14-9
nonconference victory over St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday at the WU Athletics
Complex to remain undefeated. Freshman Logan Stinson scored six points, putting
gin four goals while adding two assists. Giovanni Marino scored two goals while
adding an assist, and Jacob Herman scored once and added a team high three
assists. Jake Mollohan led the defense with three caused turnovers while Colyn
Lyons and Jacob Herman had two each. Noah Given made 10 saves in net for the
Wildcats.

Women's Lacrosse vs. Barton A strong start for the Wilmington University women’s
lacrosse team led them to a 17-5 win over Barton Wednesday morning in their
season opener at the WU Athletics Complex. Maddie Day would lead the Wildcats
with seven goals and seven points, while Lashay Ross netted five goals and
dished out three assists for eight points, while also winning four draw
controls. Delaney Steele would make five assists and score one goal for six
points, as Maris Allen scored twice. Junior Taylor Lambeth had two assists and
one goal, with Brooke Siebert winning 11 draw controls.

Women's Basketball vs. Concordia A strong defensive stance from the Wilmington
University women’s basketball team would help lead them to a 60-50 win over
Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference cross-division foe Concordia Saturday
afternoon at the Complex. Wilmington held the Clippers shooting to just 26.9
percent from the floor in the contest, while out rebounding their opponent,
58-42. Sabreen Muslim would lead the Wildcats with 14 points and 14 rebounds
securing her fourth double-double, as Kiara Eubanks finished with 13 points and
six rebounds. Emily Ansah notched her fifth double-double of the season with 10
points and 11 rebounds, as LaShyra Williams tied her season-high with 13
rebounds.

Men's Basketball vs. Chestnut Hill The Wilmington University men's basketball
team tied a single game program record with 17 made three-pointers, using the
long ball late to break away from Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference foe
Chestnut Hill, 96-85, on Tuesday night at the WU Athletics Complex. Jermaine
Head led the scoring with 34 points, hitting 5-of-11 from three-point land,
adding 10 assists for the double-double. He also had six rebounds and three
steals in the win. Jordan Harding hit four three-pointers and finished with 24
points, adding six rebounds as well. Taalib Holloman went 4-of-7 from downtown,
leading to 20 points as well. Danny Walsh chipped in with three made
three-pointers, tallying 11 points while adding five assists. WU is now 7-15,
5-8 CACC.

Women's Basketball vs. Chestnut Hill A fast start for the Wilmington University
women’s basketball team would help them to a 77-67 win over Central Atlantic
Collegiate Conference South Division Chestnut Hill Tuesday night at the Complex.
LaShyra Williams would have a game-high 19 points, going 7-8 from the foul line,
while grabbing 13 rebounds, and dishing seven assists, for the near
triple-double. Sabreen Muslim would add 16 points, going 6-13 from the floor
with six rebounds, as Emily Ansah finished with 12 points, and four rebounds.
Jadyn Whitsitt would finish with 11 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.
WU is now 4-17, 4-9 CACC.

Women's Basketball vs. Felician The Wilmington University women's basketball
team secured their second victory of the season with an 89-59 win over Felician
Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats had five players in double figures, including
graduate student LaShyra Williams and junior Sabreen Muslim who both scored 20
points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Kasha Andrews chipped in 16 points and five
assists. Tiffany Jackson added 12 points, and six rebounds off the bench, as
Kiara Eubanks added 11 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
WU is now 2-14, 2-6 CACC.

Men's Basketball vs. Georgian Court The Wilmington University men's basketball
team defeated CACC foe Georgian Court, 76-66 Wednesday night at the WU Athletics
Complex. The men would go on a 30-9 run against the Lions in a span of eight
minutes to control the lead. Jermaine Head had a game-high 32 points, with 6
rebounds, and 6 assists, while going 8-8 from the free throw line. Jordan
Harding added 11 points and 6 rebounds, as Kameron Cooper chipped in with 9
points. Freshman Eli Gibson grabbed 9 rebounds. WU is now 4-10, 2-3 CACC.

Men's Basketball vs. Bloomfield After a slow start which saw the Wildcats down
by as many as nine points, the men's basketball team stormed back and led by as
many as 11 in the second half before hanging on late for the 67-64 CACC victory
over Bloomfield. Jermaine Head set a new single game mark for most makes from
the foul line without a miss, going a perfect 13-for-13 on the day, finishing
with a game high 24 points. Jordan Harding hit three three-pointers and finished
with 15 points while Taalib Holloman and Chima Okwu-Lawrence led the team with
nine rebounds each. They held Bloomfield to just 31 percent shooting from the
floor, including just 20.8 percent (5-for-24) from three-point land. Jon Buzby

Women's Basketball vs. Bloomfield The Wilmington University women's basketball
team secured their first victory of the 2019-20 season with a 66-59 win over
cross-division rival Bloomfield on Saturday afternoon at the Complex. With the
win, the women are now 1-11, 1-3 CACC this year. Kasha Andrews came off the
bench and had a game-high 15 points, going 5-9 from behind the three-point line.
Tiffany Jackson led the starters with 13 points, going 6-12 from the floor with
four rebounds, as Jadyn Whitsitt added 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
LaShyra Williams chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds, going 3-5 from
behind the arc.

Men's Basketball vs. Bloomsburg The Wilmington University men's basketball team
won their second consecutive game of the season with a 96-82 win over PSAC foe
Bloomsburg Monday night. The Wildcats are now 2-8 on the season. Jermaine Head
scored a career-high 38 points, tying for third most all-time in a single game
in program history.

Men's Basketball vs. Kutztown The Wildcats used its defense to capture its first
victory over the 2019-20 season, a 74-69 victory over visiting Kutztown on
Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats led by as many as 13 in the first half, but
carried just a two-point lead into the break. The Golden Bears then led by as
many as nine in the second half before the Wildcats came back for the win.
Jermaine Head led with 27 points, goign 10-of-10 from the foul line, adding five
rebounds and three assists. Kam Cooper came off the bench to score 12 points, 10
of which came inthe second half, adding a steal and dunk late in the game. He
also had four rebounds, three steals, and two assists. The Wildcats force
Kutztown into 21 turnovers, picking up eight steals and 26 points off those

2019 NCAA Men's Soccer Selection Show The Wildcats earned an at-large bid into
the 2019 NCAA Tournament, making it back-to-back seasons for the first itme in
program history. They earned the No. 5 seed and will travel to No. 4 Franklin
Pierce for a Second Round game, getting a bye in the First Round. It is their
fifth overall at-large selection since 2009. They will play in Rindge, N.H. on

No. 1 Men's Soccer vs. No. 8 Concordia The No. 1 ranked Wilmington University
men's soccer team defeated No. 8 Concordia, 7-4 in the CACC Quarterfinal game at
the Complex on Monday afternoon. Lorne Bickley and Abdul Mansaray both recorded
two goals and one assist in the win. With Bickely's second goal of the game, he
broke the all-time record for points in a single-season at WilmU with 55. Shawn
Genus had one goal and two assists, while Joe Bell recorded one goal. Ben Jordan
had two assists, as Fredrik Bentdal had one assist. WU is now 17-1-1 on the
season. They will play No.. 5 Georgian Court at Post in the Semifinals.

Women's Volleyball vs. Felician On senior day, the wildcats secured their third
straight win with a 3-0 sweep over Felician. Senior Rebecca Rawlinson led the
Wildcats with 9 kills, 5 blocks, and 4 digs. Angel Oliver added 8 kills and hit
.500 on the day. Sarah Couch had a double-double with 30 assists and 14 digs,
while freshman Elly Collins had 24 digs. WU is now 18-11, 10-5 CACC.

Men's Soccer vs. Goldey-Beacom The 8th ranked #WilmUMSoccer team captured its
second straight CACC Regular Season Championship with a 3-0 victory against
crosstown rival Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday. Joe Bell scored the game's first
goal and Lorne Bickley scored his CACC record breaking 23rd goal of the year for
the 2-0 first half lead. Abdul Mansaray than scored his 13th goal of the yea rin
the second half. Gabriel Prgomet made two saves to record his seventh shutout of
the season.Teh Wildcats are now 15-1-1 overall and 9-1-1 in the CACC with one

Women's Soccer vs. Goldey-Beacom Facing the third place team in the CACC, the
Wilmington University women's soccer team held off cross-town rival
Goldey-Beacom, 2-1 on Senior Day. Alex Keck and Kailey Hyland scored both goals
for the Wildcats, as Allison Hartwyk had an assist. Emily Camp made three saves
in the net. WU is now 7-8-1, 6-4-1 CACC.

Men's Soccer vs. Caldwell The men's soccer team extended its winning streak to
four straight, scoring 23 goals in that span, with a 5-2 victory over Caldwell
on Saturday. NCAA Division II leading scorer Lorne Bickley added two more goals,
now with 19 goals on the year. Hakim Williams scored twice as well, while Joe
Bell added his fourth goal of the year as a defender. Taiki Kinugawa dished out
the first two assists on the day while Elliott Johnson and Nick Langat also
added assists. The Wildcats are now 12-1-1 overall, and 5-1-1 in CACC play.

Women's Volleyball vs Goldey Beacom The Wilmington University women's volleyball
team defeated cross-town rival Goldey Beacom 3-0 to improve to 14-7, 6-3 CACC.
Mandy Behiels had 10 kills, Sarah Couch had a double-double of 32 assists and 10
digs, while Elly Collins led the back row with 12 digs. Angel Oliver had 6
blocks and 6 kills.

Volleyball vs Chestnut Hill Wilmington University Volleyball holds off Chestnut
Hill 3-1 on Thursday night to improve to 12-7, 4-3 CACC. Three Wildcats had
double digit kills in the win. Mandy Behiels had 18 kills and 14 digs. Bailey
Andrews had 15 kills, as Rebecca Rawlinson had 11 kills, 6 blocks, and 5 service
aces. Sarah Couch dished out a career high 50 assists.

Men's Soccer vs. Staten Island The Wildcats snapped a two-game winless streak
with a 6-0 shutout of Staten Island on Wednesday at home. Four goals came in the
second half as the Wildcats earned their fourth shutout of the year. Abdul
Mansaray and Ben Jordan scored two goals each while Dimitrios Anastasiou and
Taiki Kinugawa collected their first goals of the year in the win. Davion

Men's Soccer vs. Post In a rematch of the 2018 CACC Championship, the Wilmington
University men's soccer team tied Post, 1-1 after two overtimes on Saturday
afternoon. Lorne Bickley connected with Fredrik Bentdal and Joe Bell off a
corner kick to tie the game up at 1-1 in the 58th, but that's all the WIldcats
would get ending the game in a tie. Grabriel Prgomet made three saves in the net
for WilmU. The Wildcats are now 8-1-1, 3-1-1 CACC..

Men's Soccer vs. Dominican The scoring onslaught continued for the Wildcats on
Saturday, as they shutout Dominican, 5-0, to help the Wildcats sweep Homecoming
Weekend. Shawn Genus and Lorne Bickley scored two goals while Ben Jordan capped
the afternoon with a goal. Gabriel Prgomet made two stops in goal to preserve
the shutout for the Wildcats, as they improve to 8-0, 3-0 in CACC play. They

Women's Soccer vs. Dominican The Wilmington University women's soccer team
defeated Dominican 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in the second game of a triple
header for Homecoming 2019. The Wildcats were led by freshmen Sammie Bennett,
Samantha Emmi, and Kailey Hyland who all scored a goal. Lina Boussif and Emily
Navarrete each had in assist in the game. Emily Camp made one save for her
second shutout of the season. WilmU is now 3-3-1, 2-0-1 CACC.

Women's Volleyball vs. USciences The Wilmington University volleyball team
defeated USciences, 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to kickstart Homecoming 2019.
Mandy Behiels led the Wildcats with 12 kills and 10 digs. Sarah Couch also
notched a double-double with 31 assists and 11 digs. Bailey Andrews and Rebecca
Rawlinson both had seven kills, as Rawlinson ha 10 blocks (seven solo). WilmU is
now 10-5, 2-1 CACC.

Volleyball vs. Georgian Court The Wildcats came out and took the first two sets
against Georgian Court, but the Lions didn't roll over easily, as they came back
to force game four and game five at the WU Athletics Complex. Down 9-7, the
Wildcats fought back to take a 10-9 lead in the 5th, and then scored three
straight again to take a 13-10 lead. The teams traded points from there, as the

Men's Soccer vs. Felician Lorne Bickley tied his own program mark with four
goals, leading the 17th ranked Men's Soccer team to a 8-1 victory over Felician
in the team's CACC opener on Saturday afternoon. Shawn Genus tallied a goal and
two assists while Abdul Mansaray chipped in with a goal and an assists as well.

Women's Soccer vs. Felician The Wildcats defeated Felician in their first CACC
matchup of the 2019 season on Saturday afternoon, 2-0. Freshmen Samantha Emmi
and Rockesha Dayes both scored for the Wildcats, as Kasie Lambert and Sammie
Bennett made the assists. WilmU is now (2-3, 1-0 CACC).

Men's Soccer vs. Southern New Hampshire The Wildcats remained undefeated with a
2-1 victory over Southern New Hampshire, but it wasn't without a slow start to
the game. The Penmen scored first with a goal in the fourth minute, and
controlled possession for the majority of the first 25 minutes. The game changed
when a Penmen received a red card in the 28th minute. The tides changed after
that and the Wildcats tied the game with an own goal off a Penmen defender in
the 53rd minute. Joe Bell then headed home a corner from Fredrik Bentdal in the
57th minute to take a 2-1 lead. Gabriel Prgomet made a save in the final seconds

2019 Cross Country Season Preview The Wilmington cross country teams open their
2019 seasons on September 14 at Kutztown. The men won the CACC CHampionship last
year and the women finished a team best second overall. 19th year head coach

Men's Soccer vs. No. 1 West Chester The Wildcats outplayed nationally No. 1 West
Chester throughout the entire game, but only had one goal to show for it in
regulation. West Chester hung tough and scored with 15 seconds left to force
overtime, but the No. 22 Wildcats didn't waste any time in knocking off the No.
1 team in the country, 2-1, as Fredrik Bentdal finished a pass from Shawn Genus
just 24 seconds in the extra period. It is the first time any Wilmington team
has defeated a No. 1 team in the country, and the second time the men's soccer
program played a No. 1 team. Lorne Bickley scored int he opening three minutes

Men's Soccer vs. UDC It took more than 99 minutes, but the Wildcats finally
solved the defense of UDC with an overtime header from Joe Bell off a corner
kick. The WIldcats improved to 2-0 on the season with the 1-0 win. Ben Jordan
and Abdul Mansaray added assists on the goal. The Wildcats outshot the
Firebirds, 13-5, in the game, including 8-0 in the first half alone. Gabriel

2019 Men's Soccer Season Preview The Wildcats get to play in front of their home
crowd 11 times in the regular season this year, after going undefeated on their
home turf in 2018. The team is looking to improve upon their 2018 CACC Regular
Season Championship and Tournament Championship match appearance, as well as
getting to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament once again in 2018. Interview

NCAA East 1 Regional Final: #4 Wilmington vs. #5 NYIT Needing to win two games
against fifth seeded NYIT to claim the NCAA DII East 1 Regional Title and
advance to the East Super Regional, the Wilmington University baseball team fell
just short, 6-3, in the first game on Saturday. The Wildcats fell behind early
and came back to tie the game, 3-3, in the eighth inning, but the Bears answered
with three runs of their own in the bottom of the eighth to take the lead and
the game. The Wildcats brought the tying run to the plate with one out in the
ninth, but couldn't strike with runners on base. The Wildcats ended their season

NCAA East 1 Regional: WU vs. Adelphi and Franklin Pierce The Wildcats won two
games Friday to keep their season alive, defeating top seed and host Adelphi,
14-5, before battling with #8 Franklin Pierce to the final out, coming out out
top, 12-10. The bats came alive for the Wildcats, smacking 13 hits against
Adelphi and 16 more hits against Franklin Pierce. The Ravens had the bases
loaded and no outs in the 7th, but Quintin Ivy caught a foul ball and threw the
runner out at the plate for a double play, keepnig momentum on the Wildcats'
side. The Wildcats advance to the NCAA DII East 1 Regional Tournament
Championship on Saturday, needing to defeat #5 NYIT twice to advance to the

NCAA East 1 Region: #4 Wilmington vs. #5 NYIT The Wilmington University baseball
threw the first punch in the opening round of the NCAA Division II East 1
Regional Tournament on Thursday, but NYIT fought back and held a 6-3 lead after
the 4th inning. The WIldcats scored seven runs in the bottom of the ninth to
force extras, but NYIT came out and scored three unearned runs in the top of the
10th to take the game, 10-7. Max Carney had three hits and two RBI for the
Wildcats while Kendall Small had two hits with a two-run double in the ninth.
The Wildcats fall into the loser's bracket and will play top seed and host

NCAA DII East 2 Regional: #3 Wilmington vs. #7 New Haven The No. 7 seed New
Haven picked up two home runs from Vanessa Strohm and five RBI to defeat No. 3
Wilmington, 7-4, in an elimination game in the NCAA DII East 2 Regional
Tournament at Asbury Field in New Castle, Del. Strohm's first homer came in the
top of the third with a two-run blast giving the Chargers insurance runs in the
top of the seventh. Wilmington's season came to a close at 39-15 while New Haven
stays alive to play No. 6 Adelphi.

NCAA DII East 2 Regional: #6 Adelphi vs. #3 Wilmington The No. 6 seed Adelphi
took down the No. 3 seed Wilmington, 4-3, but it took 10 innings as the two
fought back and forth throughout in the opening game of the NCAA Division II
East 2 Regional Tournament at Asbury Field in New Castle, Del.

2019 Softball Selection Show Reaction The Wilmington University softball team
found out it was hosting the NCAA Division II East 2 Regional Tournament as the
No. 3 seed on Monday, when they NCAA announced the field of 64 teams. They went
39-13 overall and won the CACC Tournament Championship on Saturday. They start
the regional tournament with No. 6 Adelphi at Asbury Field on Thursday at 11:00

Softball in the CACC Championship The Wilmington University softball team needed
to win three games on Saturday to win the CACC Tournament Championship,
including two games against top seed and host Georgian Court University. They
did just that to claim their third CACC Tournament Championship (2014, 2016, and
2019) in program history. The winner-take-all championship game took nine
innings, but a Kiana Broderson-Jones single in the top half proved to be the
game-winner. CACC Pitcher of the Year Caitlyn Whiteside was named the CACC
Tournament MVP while Rosa'Lynn Burton, Kiana Broderson-Jones, and Annie Davila
joined her on the All-Tournament Team. The Wildcats will now await their seeding

Bsaeball vs. Nyack (CACC Play-In) The Wildcats gave themselves a chance to
defend their CACC Tournament Championship by defeating Nhack, 14-3, in the
Play-In at WIlson Field on Saturday. Luke Johnson hit his 11th homer of the
season to get things started before the Wildcats used a four-run fifth and a
six-run sixth to pull away from the Warriors. Quintin Ivy and Max Carney had
three hits each while Luke Johnson and Carney led the offense with four RBI
each. Dan Hyatt went 7 innings and struck out 7, allowing two unearned runs on
four hits. Kyle Maxwell pitched the final two innings with three strikeouts.

Softball at 2019 CACC Tournament Day 1 The 2nd seeded Wildcats defeated No. 7
Nyack, 8-0, and No. 3 Caldwell, 9-2, on the first day of the 2019 CACC
Tournament, advancing to the Winner's Bracket Championship on Friday afternoon
against No. 1 Georgian Court. Annie Davila hit a three-run homer and collected 5
RBI in game one, before adding three more RBI in game two. Caitlyn Whiteside
threw a complete game, one-hit shutout against Nyack while Makayla McCarthy went

Division's No. 3 seed on the last day of the CACC regular season on Sunday,

Softball vs. Goldey-Beacom The Wildcats swept a doubleheader from Goldey-Beacom
on Thursday, winning 3-0 and 8-0 (5 inn) at Asbury Field. It was the second
straight complete game shutout for Caitlyn Whiteside, as she lowered her season
ERA to 2.26 and is now 16-8 on the year. Makayla McCarthy threw a five-inning
shutout in the nightcap and is now 15-4 with a 1.69 ERA on the year. Rosa'Lynn
Burton extended her hitting streak to a program record tying 25 straight games
with a two-run triple in game one and a 3-for-3 performance with three stolen
bases in the nightcap. The Wildcats are now 32-12 overall, 20-4 in the CACC.

Baseball vs. Felician (Game 1) The Wildcats split with Felician on Friday at
Wilson Field, winning game one, 15-4, behind six strong inning from Sean Deely.
Dakota Graham went 3-for-3 with four RBI, including a two-run homer while Brooks
RYan went 3-for-5 with a three-run monster shot and five RBI. Frank Nigro also
homered for the Wildcats, a solo shot in a 2-for-3 performance. Dakota Graham
reached base in all 10 plate appearances on Friday, six times in the opener and

Softball vs. Dominican The Wildcats earned a CACC split with Dominican on
Thursday, dropping the opener, 9-7, before coming back to win the nightcap,
10-1, in six innings. Lauren Lopez collected eight RBI in the doubleheader,
breaking the single season record with 54 RBI on the year, breaking Jillian
Stafford's mark of 51 set in 2013. Annie Davila and Makayla McCarthy hit homers
in the opener before Lexi Baughman capped the victory with a two-run shot in the

Women's Lacrosse vs. Holy Family The Wilmington University women's lacrosse team
won their fourth straight game with a 22-9 win over Holy Family to improve to
7-6, 4-1 CACC. Taylor Lambeth lead the team with six goals and one assist.
Delaney Steele had two goals and dished out eight assists. She broke the single
game program record of assists, set by Liz Case in 2013 with her pass to Brooke
Siebert in the second half. Siebert finished with five goals and one assist. She
also tied the single game program record for draw controls with 14 in the

Women's Lacrosse vs. Nyack The Wildcats got back to .500 with a 19-6 CACC
victory over Nyack on Saturday. They are now 6-6 and 3-1 in league play. Delaney
Steele tied the single-game program record with seven assists, adding three
goals for a game high 10 points. Brooke Siebert led the Wildcats with four goals
while Maddie Day, and Lashay Ross chipped in with three goals each. Taylor

the week with a pair of run-ruled shortened games agaisnt Chestnut Hill, 11-3 (6
inn.) and 8-0 (5 inn.), on Thursday at Asbury Field. Rosa'Lynn Burton, Kiana
Broderson-Jones, and Makayla McCarthy each had two his in game one as KBJ led
the way with 3 RBI. Lauren Lopez added 2 RBI while Caitlyn Whiteside improved to
13-6 on the year. Burton, Alyssa Velasquez, and Alexis Sann all had two hits in
game two as Courtney Dellinger and Sann led the way with 2 RBI each. McCarthy

Softball vs. Jefferson The Wildcats won their sixth and seventh straight CACC
games on Tuesday, coming back for a 3-2 victory in game one over Jefferson,
before smashing 16 hits for 16 runs in a 5-inning no-hitter in the nightcap.
Caitlyn Whiteside picked up the win in the opener as Annie Davila forced extra
innings with a game-tying homer int he bottom of the seventh. The Wildcats would
win on a sacrifice bunt and two errors in the bottom of the eighth. The Wildcats
then came out and put seven runs up in the first two innings of game two, and
capped it witha six-run fourth inning, including a grand slam from Kiana
Broderson-Jones. She had two hits and six RBI while Rosa'Lynn Burton and Alexis
Sann had three hits and two RBI each in the win. Makayla McCarthy tossed a
five0inning no-hitter in the night cap, striking out nine while only allowing

Men's Lacrosse vs. SUNY Poly The Wilmington University Men's Lacrosse team
defeated SUNY Polytechnic Friday afternoon, 9-6 to improve their record to 5-1.
The game was tied 6-6 with just over five minutes left to play in the game,
before the Wildcats scored three unanswered goals to take the game, 9-6. Chris
Smith and Dylan McCleaft both scored three goals for the Wildcats. Smith had two
assists to go along with his goals, as Sean Sheehan had two goals and one

Softball vs. Shippensburg The Wildcats extended their winning streak to eight
straight with a pair of victories in their final at-bats against Shippensburg.
Lauren Lopez hit a bases loaded, walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh
for a 5-4 win in game one before Annie Davila hita two-run bomb to right center
in the bottom of the sixth for the 3-2 win in game two. Caitlyn Whiteside had a
no-hitter going into the seventh of game one before the Raiders scored four to
tie the game in the seventh. The Raiders then scored two in the top of the sixth
to take a 2-1 lead before Davila hit her second homer of the day to grab a 3-2
lead going into the top of the seventh. The Wildcats are now 9-4 overall on the

Men's Lacrosse vs. Chowan The Wilmington University Men's Lacrosse team defeated
Chowan University, 20-13 to improve their record to 4-1 on the season. The
Wildcats got out to an early start, taking a 6-1 lead after the first quarter
and increasing their lead by 10 heading into the final quarter, leading 17-7.
Senior attacker, Dylan McCleaft lead the Wildcats with a season-high eigth goals
and three assists. Chris Smith had four goals and two assists, as Matt Browne

Men's Lacrosse vs. Davis & Elkins The Wildcats improved to 3-1 on the year with
a 12-5 victory over Davis & Elkins on Wednesday at the WU Athletics Complex.
With Davis & Elkins leading 3-2 early in the second quarter, the Wildcats
rattled off six straight to end the half, and the first in the third quarter to
take a 9-3 lead. Dylan McCleaft scored four goals and added two assists while
Chris Smith scored two goals and had two assists as well. Jake Walsh scored
twice and added an assists while Matt Browne finished with two assists as well.
Zach Pancake led the defense with three caused turnovers while Noah Given earned

Men's Lacrosse vs. District of Columbia The Wilmington men's lacrosse team
started its 2019 home scheudle with an overtime victory over the University of
the District of Columbia, 10-9, at the WU Athletics Complex. The Wildcats led by
as many as 7-3 early in the fourth quarter before teh Firebirds fought back to
tie the game, 9-9, and had a shot at the buzzer to win it in regulation. Sean
Sheehan secured teh overtime win with his second goal of the day. Dylan McCleaft
scored five goals for the Wildcats while Austin Wood and Ralph Ruggiero had a
goal and an assist each. Noah Given made 17 saves in net for the Wildcats.

Women's Basketball vs. Holy Family The Wilmington University women's basketball
team held on to defeat Holy Family, 70-65 on Senior Day to put their record at
8-18, 8-10 CACC. Macy Robinson had a team-high 17 points. The graduate student
from Wilmington, Del., moved into the top spot in program history for the most
made three-pointers in a career with 233 when she hit her second made
three-pointer of the night. Fellow senior, Nyree Grant finished with a
double-double scoring 14 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Freshman Emily Ansah
scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as Kiara Eubanks
finished with 12 points and Jadyn Whitsitt with 11 points. If the Wildcats win
at Goldey-Beacom on March 2 it will give them the final spot in the South
Division for playoffs.

Macy Robinson's Record Breaking 3-Pointer Graduate student Macy Robinson set a
new career three-point mark for the women's basketball program, sinking her
233rd career three-pointer on Wednesday night against Holy Family. She surpassed

Men's Basketball vs. USciences The Wildcats needed to hold off USciences down
the stretch, but did so in an 80-77 victory to clinch a CACC Tournament berth
for the third straight year. The Wildcats hit 10 three-pointers and shot 50
percent from the floor for the game (34-for-68), and held as large as a 14-point
lead in the second half. The Devils didn't go away so easily though, shrinking
the lead down to a single point in the final moments. Danny Walsh hit four
three-pointers for 22 points while Thomas Farrior went 10-of-16 from the floor
for 22 points to go with six rebounds, seven assists, and four steals. Jermaine
Head added 21 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals as well. The

games, the Wilmington University men's basketball team took down Georgian Court,
86-79 to put their record at 10-13, 7-7 CACC. Jermaine Head led the Wildcats
with 22 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists. Thomas Farrior would score 19
points, as Danny Walsh hit four three pointers in the contest, while Jordan

Men's Basketball vs. Chestnut Hill The Wildcats pulled away from the Griffins in
the second half, leading to an 81-59 CACC victory over their South Division
foes. Jermaine Head led all scorers with 26 points as the Wildcats had three
players with 20 or more points in the game. Head added eight rebounds, six
assists, two steals, and two blocked shots as well. Thomas Farrior poured in 24
points while Jordan Harding collected a double-doubl with 20 points and 10
rebounds. The Wildcats out-rebounded the Griffins, 43-39, for the game.

Wilmington took advantage of the Warriors 32 turnovers, scoring 36 points off of
Nyack's mistakes. Four starters for WilmU scored double-digits in the win. Macy
Robinson led all scorers with 19 points going 5-9 from behind the arc, as Jadyn
Whitsitt dropped 18, going 4-6 from behind the three-point line. Nyree Grant had
13 rebounds to go along with 16 points, while freshman Kiara Eubanks scored a

Delcastle Tennis Center Ribbon Cutting The home of the Wilmington University
women's tennis team received a facelift following the end of the fall season.
Delcastle Tennis Center now features a state of the art indoor facility with six
courts, a mezzanine with views of all six courts, two kitchenettes, and two
locker rooms, as well as renovations to the six outdoor courts. The county held
a special ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Deember 7, officially opening the

Video Recap: Men's Basketball vs. Jefferson The Wildcats made it three wins in a
row by oepning up CACC play with a 69-62 with against Jefferson on Tuesday night
at the WU Athletics Complex. They hit the long ball on Tuesday, going 9-of-18
from beyond the three-point arc. They led by as many as 15 late in the second
half before the Rams started to chip away own the stretch. The game saw two
ties, but the Wildcats never trailed. Jermaine Head led all scorers with 22
points with three three-pointers, grabbing 11 rebounds for a double-double. He
also dished out four assists. Tyler Norwood, Danny Walsh, and Dawson Grinnage

in the first half, but needed to battle from behind in the second half. They
regained the lead in the second half with 7:36 left and took the lead for good

with 23 points while dishing out five assists. Denzil Haynes collected a
double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Danny Walsh poured in 14
points. Dawson Grinnage finished with 11 rebounds and three steals while
Jermaine Head collected nine points, seven assists, five rebounds, and two

Chester on Saturday afternoon, 68-64, to get to 2-3 on the young season.
Jermaine Head scored 17 of his game high 27 in the second half, adding six

and finished qith 15 points whle Danny Walsh hit another big three down teh

Men's Soccer vs. Adelphi (NCAA 2nd Round) The upset bid over top seed and
nationally No. 9 Adelphi fell just short for the Wildcats in the Second Round of
the NCAA East Regional Tournament on Sunday. After falling behinnd just 1:11
into the match, the Wildcats battled back to tie the match off a corner in the
40th minute. Sam Jester headed home the team's fourth corner of the half from
Fredrik Bentdal to send the game into the half at 1-1. The second half was
evenly played throughout, but an own goal set the Wildcats back, 2-1, in the
84th minute and they weren't able to recover. The Wildcats finished the season
15-3-4 on the season and advanced to the Second Round for the fourth time in

Men's Soccer vs. Jefferson (CACC) The Wildcats squared off against the only team
that has beaten them this year in the CACC Tournament Semifinals, and knocked
off the Rams, 2-1, at Post's LaMoy FIeld. After a scoreless first half, the
Wildcats struck twice with a PK from Tom Garratt and a header from Sam Jester.
The Rams closed the gap to 2-1, but didn't threaten again as the Wildcats earned
the win. They advance to the CACC Championship match for the first time since

Men's Soccer vs. Chestnut Hill (CACC First Round) The top seeded and natioanlly
24th ranked Wilmington men's soccer team took on eighth seeded Chestnut Hill in
the First Round of the CACC Tournament on Tuesday. Daniel Loyo scored within the
final two minutes of the first half to start the scoring while Fredrik Bentdal
and Tom Garratt finished off the Griffins in the second half. Tom Garratt had a

Women's Soccer Close Calls at Holy Family The Wilmington University women's
soccer team were oh so close to tying the game in each half in the First Round
of the CACC Tournament. Emily Navarrete nearly tied the game in the first half
when trailing, 1-0, before both Jessica Unsihuay and La'Dae Boykin had chances
in the final minute of the game. The 6th seeded Wildcats fell, 2-1, to the 3rd

Volleyball vs. Concordia The Wildcats ended their home schedule with a 3-0
victory over CACC North Division foe Concordia, 3-0, on Senior Day. The Wildcats
honored Jenna Brown, Brittany Ford, and Miranda Shaw prior to the contest. Mandy
Behiels led the offense with 10 kills while Rebecca Rawlinson and Jill
Braunsberg ended with eight kills each. Miranda Shaw finished with four kills,

Women's Tennis at CACC Tournament The women's tennis team defeated USciences,
4-0, and Concordia, 4-0, in the 2018 CACC Tournament to win its first CACC
Championship in only its third year as a program. Begona Gomar was named the
Tournament MVP while Laura Gil, Tess Paya, and Anushka Sathe were also named to

2018 One Roar Home Run Derby Wilmington University Student Life and the More
Roar group put on the first One Roar Home Run Derby featuring staff members
against each other. The event kicked off the 2018 Wildcat Pride Week, leading up
to Homecoming Saturday. Unfortunately the student event which was supposed to
held prior to the staff event was rained out. Team SheGone coached by softball
head coach Mike Shehorn won the event, with the individual winner going to
baseball head coach Brian August who went a perfect 10-for-10 in the second
round and then won it all in the championship round against James Brittingham.

Volleyball vs. Nyack - 2018 Homecoming After easily taking the first set, the
Wildcats found themselves in a dog fight against Nyack on Homecoming. The
Warriors came back to take the next two sets to lead the match, 2-1. Trailing
11-5 in the fourth set, the Wildcats stormed back and took the lead for good
with a 6-1 run, 18-16. They carried the momentum into the fifth set, jumping out

the Tigers answered with a goal in the 60th minute. Both teams had a chance in
the final minute of regulation as Ellis McSharry cleared a ball off the
Wilmington line and Fredrik Bentdal's shot with less than 10 seconds left was

Volleyball vs. USciences The Wilmington University volleyball team made it seven
wins int heir last nine matches witha 3-1 victory over USciences on Wednesday
night. The defense came up with 101 digs and eight blocks in four sets while the
offfense was led by Mandy Behiels' 17 kills and 19 digs. Miranda Shaw dished out
24 assists while Jill Braunsberg was short of a triple-double with seven kills,

Men's Soccer vs. Chestnut Hill The Wildcats exploded for five second half goal
to defeat Chestnut Hill, 6-0, in a CACC contest at the WU Athletics Complex.
Will Stone had a goal and 3 assists, Tom Garratt had a goal and 2 assists, and
Fredrik Bentdal had a goal and an assist. For the second straight game, the

Volleyball vs. Post The Wildcats rebounded with a 3-0 sweep of Post on Saturday,
setting the Eagles down 25-16, 25-17, and 25-23. Mandy Behiels led the Wildcats
with 15 kills with a .308 attack percentage while Bailey Andrews had nine kills
and a .421 attack percentage. Jill Braunsberg had a double-double with 15
assists and 11 digs while Jenna Brown led the Wildcats with 16 digs. Angel
Oliver had six block assists and Miranda Shaw dished out a team high 16 assists.

Baseball vs. Merrimack - Regionals The bats came alive for the Wilmington
University baseball team, as they scored four in the first and five in the third
to jump all over Merrimack in an elimination game at teh 2018 NCAA Division II
East Regional Tournament. Zach Rumford went 6.1 innings and the bullpen nailed
down the 10-5 final for the Wildcats to stay alive. Kendall Small went 3-for-4
with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored while Nick Grant went 2-for-4 with two
RBI and two runs scored. The Wildcats scored 10 runs on 10 hits in the game.

Baseball vs. St. Thomas Aquinas - Regionals The seventh seeded Wildcats fell in
the opener of the 2018 NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament, 8-3, to second
seeded St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday. The Wildcats had chances early, but
couldn't convert while the Spartans had an unearned run in the second and added
another in the fifth to lead 2-0. The Spartans got to the Wildcats' bullpen late
in the game, finishing off the 8-3 victory. Christian Adorno homered for the
Wildcats while Brooks Ryan went 2-for-4 with an RBI double. The Wildcats face

Baseball vs Felician in CACC Championship The Wildcats needed to win two games
against Felician on Sunday to claim their seventh CACC Tournament Championship,
and that is exactly what they did. In a pressure packed first game, it was a
Brooks Ryan 10th inning two-run triple that was the deciding factor after an
outstanding performance from senior Chuck Delagol. In the winner-take-all game,
the Wildcats scored early and gave senior Nick Grant a 7-0 lead in the top of
the sixth, with the big hit coming from senior Christian Adorno, a three-run
double to right field. Nick Grant was named the CACC Tournament MVP for his
stellar play in left, at the plate, and pitching seven strong innings in the
championship game. Brad Scull, Chuck Delagol, Kendall Small, and Dakota Graham
were also named to the All-Tournament Team. The Wildcats earn the CACC's
automatic berth into the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament starting

Baseball at Day 2 of 2018 CACC Tournament The Wildcats fell into the losers
bracket is a 6-1 loss to Felician with teh first game on Friday, but bounced
back and advanced to the CACC Tournament Championship game with an 11-4 victory
over Post in an elimination game. Kendall Small went 5-for-8 on the day,
including 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBI against Post. Zach Rumford battled
through 6.1 innings for the win and Justin Mears pitched two innings for the
save. The Wildcats will face Felician against in the Championship, needing two

Baseball vs. Post in 2018 CACC Tournament The Wilmington University baseball
team rode the strong arm of junior Brad Scull to a complete game shutout
victory, 5-0, over Post in the first game of the double elimination portion of
the 2018 CACC Tournament. The offense provided Scull with a 2-0 lead in the top
of the second, and that was all he needed as he struck out 10 in the complete
game shutout, allowing only six hits with no walks. Kendall Small went 3-for-4
while Brooks Ryan batted 2-for-5 with a two-run double. Dakota Graham and Nick
Macey added RBI's as well. The Wildcats move on to face Felician in the winners

Baseball vs. Nyack in CACC Play-In The Wildcats used strong pitching from Zach
Rumford, Brad Scull, and Justin Mears to get past Nyack in an elimination game
to begin the 2018 CACC Tournament, 2-0, on Saturday at Wilson Field. Zach
Rumford escaped a two-on jam in the third and the offense answered with two runs
in the bottom half. That was more than enough for Rumford, as he went seven
scoreless before passing it on to Scull for the eighth. Mears picked up his 10th
save of the year, ending the game with a double-play. The Wildcats play the
winner of Post/Goldey-Beacom on Thursday to begin the double elimination potion

Softball at CACC Tournament Day 2 The Wildcats staved off elimination with a 7-2
victory over Post in game one on Friday, but Dominican was able to defeat the
Wildcats, 7-6, ending their run in the 2018 CACC Tournament. After getting down,
5-0, in the early going, the Wildcats battled back to eventually tie the game,
6-6, int he sixth inning. But Dominican homered in the top of the seventh and
the Wildcats left the bases loaded as Dominican escaped. The Wildcats now have
to wait for the NCAA Selection Show on Monday to see if they made the NCAA
Division II East Regional Tournament for the fifth straight season. Interview

Softball at CACC Tournament Day 1 The second seeded Wildcats dropped their first
game of the 2018 CACC Tournament to No. 7 Holy Family, as the Tigers came
roaring back to scoring three runs in the seventh to tie it, and one more in the
eighth to steal the 7-6 victory. The Wildcats bounced back in game two, coming
from behind to defeat No. 6 Felician, 6-5, with a four-run sixth inning of their

Men's Lacrosse vs. District of Columbia The Wilmington men's lacrosse program
played its inaugural game on February 27, 2018 at home against the Distrit of
Columbia. Josh Burley scored the program's first ever goal in the first quarter,
tallying three marks in the game. The Wildcats closed the deficit to 5-4 with 29
seconds left in the first half, but UDC answered with five straight goals to
take command of the game. Cory Melvin scored teh final three goals for the
Wildcats, collecting another hat trick for the Wildcats in their first ever

Men's Basketball vs. Jefferson Take a look at the run the Wilmington men's
basketball rattled off against Jefferson to take control fo the match. They went
for 15 straight en route to a final 23-3 run to take a 67-38 lead with 9:17 left
in the second half. The Wildcats went on to a 79-61 CACC victory over Jefferson
to raise their overall record to 10-8, improving to 5-4 in the CACC and just one

Men's Basketball vs Georgian Court The men's basketball team hit their first
three three-pointers of the game and scored the first 15 points of the game en
route to a 92-68 CACC victory over Georgian Court at the Complex on Saturday.
Shawn Church hit five of his seven three-pointers in the first half, scoring 17
of his 23 in the opening 20 minutes. Miles Gillette took over the second half,
scoring 20 of his career high 34 in the final 20 minutes. He hit four
three-pointers as well, adding 14 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the
year. Jermaine Head chipped in with 18 points, eight assists, and five steals.

Women's Basketball vs. Georgian Court The women's basketball team not only
needed a 12-point first quarter and halftime deficit to overcome, but also a
10-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter to comeback and stun Georgian
Court, 86-83, on Saturday at the WU Athletics Complex. Macy Robinson scored 26
of her game-high 29 points in the second half, including what would be the
game-winning steal and full court layup with 24 seconds left. She also added
five assists, five steals, and 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the
year. Nyree Grant finished with 14 while Mikala Casimir poured in a career high
13 points to go with six rebounds and five assists. Emma Matthews added 11
points and nine rebounds while Jadyn Whitsitt chipped in with 11 points, seven

Men's Basketball vs. #19 Shippensburg The Wilmington men's basketball team
battled back to defeat #19 Shippensburg, 73-71, using another last second
three-pointer to beat a PSAC opponent! Jermaine Head did it last week at
Millersville, today it was Danny Walsh's three from the corner with 3.6 seconds
left to stun the Raiders. The Raiders last ditch 3 pointer was good, but waived
off as the shot did not beat the buzzer. The Wildcats were once up 14, but then
found themselves down nine with 6:50 left in regulation. It is the first win

2017-18 season with a home tournament against NYIT and LIU Post. The Wildcats
are coming off their best season to date, looking to stamp the program down in

Women's Soccer vs. Holy Family in CACC Semifinal The second seeded Wildcats came
back and defeated third seeded Holy Family, 3-1, in the CACC Tournament
Semifinals at Georgian Court. The Wildcats advance to the CACC Championship on
Sunday against top seeded Georgian Court. The Wildcats picked up goals from
Alexa Smalley, Loran Wyrough, and Jessica Unsihuay after falling behind 1-0 in
the eighth minute. It is the second time in program history the Wildcats will

Women's Soccer vs. Post in CACC Tournament The second seeded Wildcats hosted the
seventh seeded Post in the CACC Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday, October 31.
The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead with goal from Krysta Memis, but the
Eagles tied the match with an early second half goal. The game would go to
overtime where Carin Essex-Arline would give the Wildcats the victory in the
97th minute. They advance to play in the CACC Tournament Semifinals hosted by

Men's Soccer vs. Jefferson The Wilmington University men's soccer team came out
with a purpose against CACC leading Jefferson in their regular season finale on
Wednesday. They did not allow a shot in the first half, taking a 1-0 lead into
the break on an Abdul Mansaray goal. Fredrik Bentdal made it 2-0 with a second
half PK, while Vinny Tasca extended his shutout streak to 392:58 minutes by
saving a PK of his own. The Wildcats will have a home game in next week's CACC

Women's Soccer vs. Jefferson The Wilmington University women's soccer team ended
the regular season with a 1-0 victory over Jefferson on Tuesday. Loran Wyrough
scored her 16th goal in the 60th minute, which stood as the only goal of the
game. The win was the Wildcats' sixth straight as they are now 12-5-1 overall,
10-2 in the CACC. The Wildcats could be the No. 2 seed in the CACC Tournament

runs in the sixth, but fell just short. The team brought the tying run to the

2017 CACC Golf Championship The Wildcats found themselves down by six strokes
after the first round of the 2017 CACC Tournament, but battled back and shot a
290 on the second day to overtake Dominican for their seventh straight CACC

Men's Basketball vs. Chestnut Hill The Wildcats overcame a slow start to
overtake Chestnut Hill, 70-63, with a hot shooting second half on Wednesday for
Senior Night. Prior to the game, the fans program recognized Brian Adkins, Taj
Almon, Drew Johnson II, and Tyaire Ponzo-Meek for all their work while donning
the green and white. All four of em showed up on Wednesday night, as Ponzo-Meek
led the team with 19 points despite not hitting a shot from the field in the
first half. Johnson hit three three-pointers for 16 points while Adkins hit a
big three-pointer to start the second half and tie the game. Almon added to the
hot start in the second half with a big block, finishing the game with three
blocks, six points, and five boards. A 7-0 run gave the Wildcats a 42-40 lead
before another 5-0 run ended a 12-2 spurt to put the Wildcats on top for good,
47-42, halfway through the second half. The Wildcats are tied for second and
only a game behind Philadelphia for first place in the CACC South Division with
two games to play. Those two games are against Goldey-Beacom (tied for second)

Men's Basketball vs Holy Family The Wildcats survived a slugfest with Holy
Family, 92-90, in CACC South Division action on Tuesday night at the WU
Athletics Complex. The Wildcats needed to come up with a stop at the buzzer as
Holy Family's game-winning three-pointer was well short. The Wildcats led
wire-to-wire but needed to hold on down the stretch despite being ahead by 15
points with 5:20 left in regulation. Wilmington's high scoring duo of Tyaire
Ponzo-Meek and Nick Richards out dueled the Tigers' and CACC's two leading
scorings Dyllon Hudson-Emory and Randy Bell. Ponzo-Meek finished with 23 points,
six rebounds, and six assists while Richards added 20 points, 14 rebounds, five
assists, and three steals. Although Bell scored 36 for the Tigers, the CACC's
leading scorer Hudson-Emory was held to 15 points. Omari Dill-Pettiford added 15
points for the Wildcats while Masner Beauplan also chipped in with 14 points and
three assists. The Wildcats are now 17-7, 12-3 in the CACC and remain in a tie

Men's Basketball vs Georgian Court The Wildcats were dialed into the
long-distanced shots in the first half on Wednesday night against Georgian
Court, leading to an 81-62 CACC victory. The Wildcats went 10-of-1 from deep in
the first half alone, opening a 52-30 halftime lead that the Lions could never
come back from. Tyaire Ponzo-Meek was perfect from distance in the first half,
shooting 4-of-4 while Omari Dill-Pettiford wasn't far beyond, shooting 4-of-6
from deep in the first half. Ponzo-Meek finished with a game-high 26 points,
shooting 9-of-12 from the field for the game, including 7-of-8 from three-point
land. Dill-Pettiford scored 16 of his 18 in the first half while Nick Richards
added 17 points. Brian Adkins came off the bench to add 12 points, hitting a
pair of three-pointers as well. The Wildcats climbed into a tie for second place
in the South Division and are now 15-7 overall, 10-3 in the CACC. Copyright

Complex. The offense was off and running in the contest, putting up their most
points in a game this season. They had three players reach 20 or more points,
led by LaShyra Williams' 25 points. Jasmine Lee came off the bench to score 24
points in 25 minutes while Macy Robinson also chipped in with 20 points and nine
rebounds. The Wildcats shot 51.6 percent from the floor for the game, hitting

Men's Basketball vs USciences A strong start propelled the Wilmington University
men's basketball team to a 79-70 victory over USciences last Tuesday night,
exacting an earlier season loss to the Devils. Drew Johnson caught fire from
deep, hitting 4-of-4 in the first half before finishign 6-of-7 from deep in the
game. He led the team with 22 points while adding six rebounds and two assists.
Taj Almon collected his second straight double-double with 16 points and 12
rebounds, shooting 6-of-8 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the foul line. Tyaire
Ponzo-Meek added 18 points while Omari Dill-Pettiford chipped in with 15 points
as well. The Wildcats raised their record to 13-6 overall and 8-2 in the CACC.

Women's Basketball vs USciences Trailing by 17 points with eight minutes to play
in the third quarter, the Wildcats staged an epic comeback to take down CACC
South Division leading University of the Sciences, 75-67, at the WU Athletics
Complex on Tuesday night. Jasmine Lee was the catalyst for the Wildcats'
comeback, finishing with 24 points in 22 minutes off the bench. Macy Robinson
hit a three-pointer with 9:00 to play in the fourth quarter to give the Wildcats
their first lead before Lee put the Wildcats in front for good moments later.
LaShyra Williams added 15 points while Jocelyn Rodriguez scored 11 for the

Men's Basketball vs Goldey Beacom The Wilmington University men's basketball
team moved to 4-1 in the CACC with an 85-76 victory over crosstown rival
Goldey-Beacom on Sunday afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex. For the second
game in a row, and only the second time this season, the Widcats shot over 50
percent from the floor, finishing 52.7%. They also dished out 20 assists on the
afternoon, assisting on 20-of-29 made baskets on Sunday. Omari Dill-Pettifrod
scored 15 of his team high 21 points in the first half while Tyaire Ponzo-Meek
added 20 points. Drew Johnson II hit three three-pointers for 13 points while
Masner Beauplan and Miles Gillette added 10 points each off the bench. Copyright

Men's Basketball vs Philadelphia The Wilmington University men's basketball team
held off a hard charging Philadelphia team in the second half, claiming a 70-64
victory in the team's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opener on Saturday
afternoon at the WU Athletics Complex. The Wildcats got out to a 14-point lead
in the second half, but the Rams wouldn't go away and clawed all the back to
within a single point with 2:12 left in regulation. Omari Dill-Pettiford hit a
baseline jumper to give the Wildcats some breathing room and the Rams couldn't
find the bottom of the net for the rest of the game. Nick Richards led the
Wildcats with 17 points and nine rebounds while Tyaire Ponzo-Meek came off the
bench to score 17 points as well. Brian Adkins scored 11 points and grabbed
seven rebounds while Taj Almon also finished with 11 points and seven rebound

Women's Basketball vs Philadelphia The Wilmington University women's basketball
team snapped a 15-game losing streak to the Philadelphia University Rams on
Saturday, taking down their CACC foe 63-60 at home. The Wildcats used a 16-8
third quarter to turn around a 39-33 halftime deficit, but needed a late bucket
to secure the win. Trailing by a point, the Wildcats secured a rebound and
pushed the tempo, as Ebonee Dixon started it with a long outlet pass to Nyree
Grant. Grant went with one more pass to LaShyra Williams who laid it home for
the 61-60 lead with 25 seconds left. The defense then squeezed a turnover out of
the Rams and hit a pair of free throws for the 63-60 final score. Grant
collected her second straight double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds while
Williams led the Wildcats with 16 points. Macy Robinson added 15 points while
Jocelyn Rodriguez scored 10 and added nine rebounds and three assists. Copyright

Men's Basketball vs Pace The Wildcats improved to 3-0 in the 2016-17 season with
a 75-65 victory over Pace on Wednesday, November 16, in the season's home
opener. The Wildcats turned a 7-0 run into a 17-15 lead before a 10-0 spurt put
them ahead for good, 27-20, late in the first half. Nick Richards collected a
double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds while adding five assists. Taj
Almon kept the crowd in it in the second half with two thunderous dunks while
Tyaire Ponzo-Meek led the team with 18 points. The Wildcats are 3-0 for the

basketball team was picked to finish tied for fourth int he South Division of
the CACC standings. They start their season on November 12 so the sports
information department caught up with head coach Dan Burke and see how preseason
has gone and to try and figure out what to expect from his team for the 2016-17

Women's Basketball 2016 17 Season Preview Rob Miller returns to the bench for
the first time since the 2009-10 season for the Wildcats, marking his third
season overall in 2016-17. He has a young, but talented, group of girls to play
for him this season and is excited to get the product out on the court. The
Wildcats start their season on November 12, and the sports information

Men's Soccer vs Goldey Beacom CACC First Round The third seeded men's soccer
team took down its First State rival and sixth seeded Goldey-Beacom, 3-0, in the
First Round of the CACC Tournament on Monday afternoon at the WU Athletics
Complex. Lorne Bickley started the scoring with his 12th goal of the season in
the 24th minute. Jamie Burridge and Sam Jester added insurance goals late in the
second half while Vinny Tasca recorded four saves for his fourth shutout of the
season. The Wildcats advance to their fifth consecutive CACC Tournament
Semifinal appearance, last winning in the semifinals in 2014. The rest of the
CACC Tournament will take place in Lakewood, N.J., on the campus of Georgian

Women's Soccer at Philadelphia CACC Quarterfinals The Wilmington University
women's soccer team went on the road and upset Philadelphia, 2-1, in the CACC
Tournament Quarterfinals. The 5th seeded Wildcats scored first against the 4th
seeded Rams, getting a head from Loran Wyrough in the 38th minute. The Rams came
right back and tied the game in the 41st minute. The evenly matched game was
decided in the 86th minute as the Wildcats got on the end of a long throw-in
from Valerie Bragg. Teigha Ward slammed home a rebound for the game-winner. The
Wildcats advance to the CACC Tournament Semifinals on Friday at Georigan Court.

Women's Soccer vs Nyack The Wilmington University women's soccer team took it to
Nyack on Saturday, scoring three times in the second half to defeat the
Warriors, 5-1. The Warriors cut the deficit down to 2-1 with a goal early in the
second half before Gabby Perry and Loran Wyrough scored 58 seconds apart for the
Wildcats. Stephanie Alvarez added the capper in the 83rd minute for the

Cross Country at 2016 CACC Championships The cross country teams competed in the
CACC Championships on Sunday with the men's team earning their second
consecutive CACC Championship with 43 points, out-running Bloomfield who
finished with 45 points. Senior Ken Fontal won the men's race by more than 21
seconds, earning him CACC Runner of the Year for his first place finish. Isaac
Ndirangu (3rd), Korey Jeffries (7th), and Miggy Suero (11th) all earned All-CACC
as well for finishing in the Top 15. The women finished sixth overall, led by

Women's Soccer vs Concordia The women's soccer team won their fourth straight
CACC contest on Saturday with a 7-1 victory over Concordia at the WU Athletics
Complex. Teigha Ward tied the program's single match record of four goals in the
win, becoming the third player (fourth time) to score four goals in one game.
Riley Thompson, Gabby Perry, and Melissa Gall also scored for the Wildcats in

Women's Tennis vs Philadelphia The women's tennis team clinched the No. 2 seed
in the upcoming CACC Tournament with a 6-3 win over Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The Wildcats were down 2-1 after the three doubles events, but won at number 1,
2, 3, 4, and 5 singles to come back and defeat the Rams. The Wildcats are no2

Men's Soccer vs Holy Family The WIlmington University men's soccer team improved
to 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the CACC with a 5-0 victory over Holy FAmily on
Tuesday. Geoff Velasquez scored the game-winner in the first half on a PK,
makring it his first goal since his freshman season in 2013. Lorn Bickley
continued his hot streak with two goals and an assist in the game whil Deron Joe
and Sam Jester added scores as well. The Wildcats out shot the Tigers, 18-2 in

Women's Soccer vs Chestnut Hill The WIlmington University women's soccer team
shuout its CACC opponent Chestnut Hill, 2-0, on Wednesday at the WU Athletics
Complex. The Wildcats out shot the Griffins, 18-4, in the match, but couldn't
find the back of the net until the second half. Rebecca Dolhansky fed Gabby
Perry a through ball in 54th minute for the first mark before Dolhansky played
another through ball that Kelly Robbins got on the end of in the 76th minute.
The Wildcats are now 3-1 overall, 2-0 in the CACC. Next Up: vs. Bloomfield on

Men's Soccer vs Chestnut Hill The Wilmington University men's soccer team has
kept the offensive pressure on all season, defeating Chestnut Hill, 5-0, in the
CACC opener on Tuesday. The Wildcats have 14 goals in their first three games of
the season. Juan Bernal earned the game-winner in the 16th minute while Sam
Jester, Alex Luke, and Lorne Bickley also contributed goals. Vinny Tasca

Women's Tennis Season Preview The Wilmington University women's tennis team
begins is program's first season this fall, opening with the first match on
Saturday at NYIT. Head coach Brad Rose brought in seven girls for the first
season, seven of which are international. The Wildcats will compete for one of

Annual WUXC Invite at Carousel Park and put on a good show. The women started
things off with a second place finish before the men had the top two runners

Men's Soccer 2016 Season Preview The Wilmington University men's soccer team
opens its much anticipated 2016 season on September 3 against NYIT. The team won
the CACC Regular Season and advanced to the NCAA Division II East Regional
Tournament Second Round in 2015. They were again picked to repeat as Regular
Season Champions in 2016, but looked to win their first CACC Tournament

Golf National Tournament Preview As the Wilmington University Golf team prepares
for the 2016 NCAA National Tournament, lets take a look back at a few of the

Softball at NCAA Division II East I Regional The Wildcats season came to an
early end on Thursday, as they fell to top seed Caldwell, 4-1, and then No. 5 Le
Moyne on the first day of the NCAA Division II East I Regional Tournament.
Senior Cambria Ziemba became the program's all-time leader in career hits with a

Golf at NCAA Super Regionals - Round 2 The Wildcats shot a 289 in the second
round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional Tournament to vault
their way up to third place after two rounds. The Wildcats were led by Ryan
Rucinski and Joey Russo's 71 (-1)'s on Tuesday. Russo leads the Wildcats by
sitting in fourth place with a 73-71, 144 (E) with one round to play. Senior
Andreas Lunding is in a tie for 12th with a 75-74, 149 (+5) through the first

Softball 2016 NCAA Selection Show The Wildcats knew they were in the East
Regional Tournament by benefit of their CACC Tournament Championship, but the
who, when, and where were still to be determine as of Monday morning. The NCAA
released the 2016 NCAA Division II Regional Brackets and the Wildcats determined
they were the No. 8 seed, playing in the East 1 Bracket against top seed and
CACC foe Caldwell to start the Tournament. This is their third straight season
in the East Regional Tournament, their second by earning the CACC's automatic

Softball at 2016 CACC Tournament Championship The Wildcats captured their second
CACC Tournament Championship in the past three seasons, defeating Holy Family,
1-0, in the title game on Saturday. Much like the CACC Tournament opener for the
Wildcats, the team rode the arm of starter Danielle Bradley while only needing a
solo shot from Meghan Brown as the game's lone score. The defense stepped up for
the Wildcats, getting diving plays and key decisions on bunt plays down the
stretch to keep Holy Family off the board. The Wildcats earned the CACC's
automatic bid intot he NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament and will find
out who, when, and where they play on Monday morning during the NCAA Selection
show. Bradley was named the Tournament MVP while being joined by Becca Stanley,

Softball at 2016 CACC Tournament Day 1 The Wildcats rode the arm of sophomore
pitcher Danielle Bradley in the opener against Concordia, as she tossed a
complete game shutout to put the Wildcats into the winner's bracket. Junior
Meghan Brown was all the offense Bradley needed in the opener, hitting a solo
homer in the fifth for the lone run of the 1-0 victory. The offense came alive
in the second game against Bloomfield, as they currently hold a 9-5 lead in the
bottom of the sixth before rain forced a postponement. Becca Stanley and Bradley
hit homers in the second game to carry the load. The game will be finished on

Softball at the CACC Tournament - Day 2 The Wildcats advanced to their second
CACC Tournament Championship game in three seasons by defeating Holy Family,
9-2, in the winner's bracket game on Friday. The Wildcats scored five timesi n
the first three innings after the Tigers took a 1-0 lead. Taylor Rizzotte and
Becca Stanley collected two hits each while Stanley led the team with two RBI.
Freshman Caitlyn Whiteside came on in relief and pitched the final four innings
for the win. The Wildcats will face the same Tigers on Saturday for the

Wilmington Softball 2016 Season Preview The Wilmington University softball team
is coming off back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Division II East Regional
Tournament and are looking to take the next step in 2016. The Wildcats have nine
returners from last year's squad, including All-CACC performers Danielle Bradley
and Colby Wyatt. THe team also has five juniors and a pair of seniors to lead

Women's Lacrosse 2016 Season Preview The Wildcats open their 2016 campaign on
Saturday against Queens and despite all the new faces on teh team, expect to

CACC Tournament, and need to be one of the top six teams in the conference to

Wilmington Baseball 2016 Season Preview The Wildcats are set to begin their 2016
season after coming off a record breaking 2015 season, reaching the NCAA
Division II Baseball Championships for the first time in program history. The
goal remains the same despite the crop of new talent 12th year head coach Brian
August recruited. The Wildcats have 15 fresh faces on the roster this season,
but were once again picked first in the CACC Preseason Poll and third in the

Women's Basketball vs. Post The Wildcats snapped a four-game losing streak with
a 74-51 CACC victory over visiting Post on Tuesday night. The Wildcats used big
runs to begin the third and fourth quarters to extend the lead after going into
the halftime break leading by six points. Zameria Jones led all Wildcats with 15
points off the bench while Ashri Broadwater added 12 points and matched a team
high with five rebounds. Ebonee Dixon came off the bench to score 11 points
while Jasmine Lee and Tenicia Specnce chipped in with 10 points each in the win.

Men's Basketball vs. Bloomfield The Wildcats went on a 7-0 run to end the first
half to carry the team to a 79-73 victory over Bloomfield on Wednesday night.
Tyaire Ponzo-Meek led the team with 34 points by hitting four three-pointers.
Brian Adkins and Sam Sanders came off the bench to score 11 and 10,
respectively. Drew Johnson scored nine and led the team with eight rebounds.
Omari Dill-Pettiford broke a 65-65 tie game witha three and the Wildcats never

Volleyball vs. Caldwell (CACC) The Wildcats needed to defend a pair of match
points in the fourth set against Caldwell before winning the fifth and deciding
set, 15-11, in the CACC Tournament Quarterfinal round. The Wildcats jumped all
over the Cougars in the first set before Caldwell came back to claim the second
and third sets. The Cougars held leads of 24-23, and 25-24 in the fourth before
the Wildcats won the set, 27-25, to force the fifth. The Wildcats move onto the

Men's Soccer vs. Adelphi - NCAA First Round The sixth seeded Wildcats prevailed
in a back and forth contest with third seeded Adelphia, 4-3, in the first round
of the NCAA Tournament. Jamie Burridge created the fireworks with a game-winner
just 30 seconds into the first overtime session. Lance Berry had two goals and
two assists in the win. The Wildcats move on to face second seeded LIU Post on

Men's Soccer 2015 NCAA Selection Show The Wildcats had to wait until the final
name of the East Regional Tournament but they learned they made it to the NCAA
Tournament as a sixth seed on Monday night as the NCAA announced its 2015
Tournament Field. THe Wildcats will face 3rd seeded Adelphi on Thursday hosted

Men's Soccer vs. Goldey-Beacom (CACC QF) The Wilmington University men's soccer
team posted a 4-0 shutout over crosstown rival Goldey-Beacom in the First Round
of the CACC Tournament on Monday afternoon. The top seeded Wildcats scored three
of their goals in the second half, with two of the day's goals coming off the
boot of Lance Berry. The Wildcats advance to the CACC Tournament Semifinals on
Thursday as they square off against fourth seeded Chestnut Hill hosted by Post

Women's Soccer vs. Goldey-Beacom The Wildcats never trailed as they took down
their crosstown rivals from Goldey-Beacom, 3-2, at the WU Athletics Complex on
Wednesday, October 21. The Wildcats scored back-to-back goals in 21 seconds to
open the scoring in the first half before La'Dae Boykin scored the eventual
game-winner in the 72nd minute. The Wildcats are now 8-6 overall and 8-2 in the

Men's Soccer vs. Goldey-Beacom The No. 22 Wilmington University men's soccer
team clinched the top seed in the upcoming CACC Tournament with a 5-0 victory
over cross-town rival Goldey-Beacom on Tuesday. Clifford Nwechefom recorded a
hat trick for the Wildcats as the Wildcats scored three goals in the first eight
minutes of the game. The Wildcats are now 12-2 overall and 9-1 in the CACC.

Women's Soccer vs. Philadelphia The women's soccer team battled back from a 1-0
second half deficit to overcome Philadelphia, 2-1, in double overtime. Loran
Wyrough tied the game in the 83rd minute with an assist from Rebecca Dolhansky
before capping the comeback in the 109th minute with assists from La'Dae Boykin
and Chandler Lages. The win wouldn't have happened without key saves form

Volleyball vs. Georgian Court The Wildcats took it to the Lions, sweeping their
CACC South Division rivals for the first time since the second meeting of the
2012 season. Set scores for the match were 25-7, 25-19, and 25-13. The Wildcats
out-blocked the Lions, 11-5, and out-dug the Lions, 72-57, as the defense led
the way for the Wildcats. Alex Siolos led the Wildcats with 10 kills, Shelby
Henderson led the defense with 31 digs, and Eile Harris led the blocking with

Baseball vs Angelo State (NCAA Finals) The Wilmington University baseball team
had its historical season come to a close on Monday afternoon, as Angelo State
knocked the Wildcats out of the NCAA Division II Baseball National Finals. The
big hit eluded the Wildcats this week while the defense committed seven errors

Baseball vs. Catawba (NCAA Finals) The Wilmington baseball team suffered a tough
3-2 loss to nationally second ranked Catawba in the first round of the NCAA
Division II Baseball Finals. Sam Goines launched a solo home run, the first hit

Baseball in East Region Tournament Championship The Wilmington University
baseball team needed to win two games on Sunday to claim the 2015 NCAA East
Region Tournament Championship and did so with a 5-3 victory over top-seed and
nationally top-ranked Franklin Pierce in the opener and an 11-9 victory over St.
Thomas Aquinas in the final. The Wildcats were behind, 5-0, in the final before
mounting the comeback with a six run second inning. Tyler Fries was named the
Tournament's Most Outstanding Performer while Sean Feeney and Josh Swirchak were

Baseball vs St Thomas Aquinas NCAA East Regional Tournament The Wilmington
University Baseball team suffered a 7-3 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas late Saturday
night, which forces the team to have to win two games on Sunday to win the NCAA
Division II East Regional Tournament. Rob Gore tossed 6.1 innings on Saturday
but an error and a four-run seventh inning proved to be the difference for STAC.

Baseball vs. Stonehill (NCAA) The Wilmington University Wildcats came back from
a 3-2 deficit with two runs in the bottom of the eighth to defeat Stonehill,
4-3, in the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament. Sam Goines opened the
scoring with a two-run double in the first while Josh Swirchak tied the game
with an RBI single in the eighth. Mike Annone popped one up to right that

MEN'S LACROSSE VS. ST. THOMAS AQUINAS

A six-goal third quarter expanded the Wilmington University men's lacrosse
team's lead as it went on to a 14-9 nonconference victory over St. Thomas
Aquinas on Saturday at the WU Athletics Complex to remain undefeated. Freshman
Logan Stinson scored six points, putting gin four goals while adding two
assists. Giovanni Marino scored two goals while adding an assist, and Jacob
Herman scored once and added a team high three assists. Jake Mollohan led the
defense with three caused turnovers while Colyn Lyons and Jacob Herman had two
each. Noah Given made 10 saves in net for the Wildcats.
