HISTORIC ALEXANDRIA SCHOOL PROGRAMS, GROUP VISITS AND MUSEUM RENTALS

Use this request for information on visiting or renting any of the City of
Alexandria’s museums or historic sites. To learn more about their reopening,

PARK MAINTENANCE

Use this to request maintenance for public park infrastructure (e.g., pavilion).
Typical park maintenance requests include litter within the parks, mowing,
equipment replacement or repairs, fence or bench repairs, dog parks, trails, or
water fountain repairs.



TREE INSPECTION REQUEST

Use this request to request an inspection about a potential tree pruning or
removal.



TREE PLANTING REQUEST

Use this to request the planting of a tree on city-owned land.
If a resident would like to request a tree be planted on City-owned land in
front of their home, a City Arborist will inspect the site and determine the
appropriate tree for planting at no cost to you. At the time a tree is removed,
a City Arborist will identify the appropriate tree for the site and the tree
will be scheduled for planting. The City's tree planting program occurs between
October and May, weather permitting.



TREE STORM DAMAGE

Use this service request to report a damaged City tree resulting from a storm
event. Please do not use this request in the event of an emergency - if the City
tree damage is causing immediate danger, please call 911. Please note that many
damaged City tree related concerns are not immediately actionable by the City.
However, reporting damaged City trees allows the City’s Urban Forestry Team to
better determine the required response to a storm event.

Use this request to submit questions about tree planting, pruning, or removal.



ALLEY OR STREET

Use this service request to report repairs needed to Alleys or Streets. Repair
and paving projects typically take place from Spring until early Fall. Staff
make every effort to provide timely, accurate information about this work and to
minimize disruption and duration.



FLOODING CONCERNS AND INQUIRIES

Use this service request to report flooding, as well as inquiries and concerns
related to flooding. Please do not use this request in the event of an emergency
- if the flooding is causing immediate danger, please call 911. If it is not an
emergency, contact the non-emergency police line at 703.746.4444. Please note
that many flooding-related concerns are not immediately actionable by the City.
However, reporting flooding concerns allows the City’s stormwater and sanitary
engineers to better understand the extent and nature of flooding in the City,
enabling them to more appropriately plan for medium- to long-term infrastructure
design and flood mitigation projects.



MISSED COLLECTION

Use this service request to report issues related to missed trash, recycling, or
yard waste collections. Set out trash, recycling and yard waste containers no
earlier than 5 p.m. the day prior to collection, and no later than 6 a.m. the
morning of collection. For collection schedules on holidays or during inclement
weather, please visit the City's website, social media accounts or eNews. If
there is a non-collection tag on your materials, please follow the directions on
the tag and put out your trash, recycling, or yard waste for the next collection
day.



MOBILITY, ACCESS, AND TRAFFIC SAFETY

Submit requests and find information related to street safety, ADA
accessibility, traffic, bicycle lanes, multi-use paths, and other
transportation-related topics. Request for Police Enforcement or Review please
call 703.746.4444. Please note, formal requests for traffic calming must be
submitted via neighborhood petition through the City’s Speed Reducer Program. To

POTHOLES

Use this service request to report pothole concerns. The City only repairs
potholes on City maintained streets and alleys.



SEWER INFRASTRUCTURE ISSUES

Use this service request to report issues related to sewer infrastructure.
Cave-in, flooding, backup, manhole covers, odor, and requests for inspection.



STREETLIGHTS (EXISTING)

Use this to report burned-out lamps, flickering lights, bright lights, and other
problems.



TRAFFIC LIGHT/SIGNAL (EXISTING)

Use this to report all issues related to traffic signals – stuck traffic lights,
burned-out bulbs, pedestrian crossing signal malfunctions, timing concerns,
knocked down or leaning traffic signal poles, and other problems.



TRAFFIC LIGHT/SIGNAL (NEW)

Use this to request the installation of new traffic signals.



TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND STREET LIGHTS

Use this service request for pedestrian or traffic concerns or street light
outages. This includes signals that are malfunctioning, bulb outages, or timing
issues. Dominion Virginia Power maintains the majority of the street lights
within Alexandria. Street light outages can be reported directly to Dominion by
calling 1.866.DOM.HELP (1.866.366.4357). Please be aware that request for new
signals and lights require a detailed review by staff before approval.
