JON’S BIG FIVE-0

5-11pm, Kent, Sept 2020

Celebrating Jon’s big Five-0 in a field with all his best buddies in a moment of
relative calm after lockdown. We kicked off at 5pm in a spectacular stretch
tent, ramping it up quickly to make it count before the 11pm curfew. A tastly
blend of 70’s & 80’s pop & dance classics moved into classic house and piano
tracks and on to a sprinkling of DnB with a bit of Indie for good measure.

PRENTIS & BECMEAD SUNDAY SERVICE

4pm-6pm, London, April 2020

The Prentis and Becmead Sunday Service… It sort of feels misplaced to be
partying at a time like this when there are people suffering either from the
virus or from cramped and unmanageable living conditions, not forgetting the
Herculean and brave contributions from all the key workers out there putting
themselves on the line for us all. (We’ll be banging our pots on the doorstep
tonight at 8pm with great gusto as has become custom, and rightly so!). We’re
only 3 weeks or so into lockdown here in the UK and it feels to me like there is
a tsunami of poop coming down the road from a myriad of different channels. It’s
going to be tough before long. The more we stick together and support each
other, family, colleagues and neighbours, the better equipped we’ll be to take
on the future. We had a little neighbourly knees-up last Sunday that brought us
all together through music. So good to feel that connectivity. Thank-you to all
who got involved. Apologies to those who found it a bit annoying – we’ve all
experienced being just out of range where you can’t quite hear the sound clearly
enough and it turns into an awful din!I’m not religious but – I feel blessed to
be fit and well; to have space when others do not; to have a home when others do
not; to have food when others do not. I’m appreciating each day more and more ..
and being part of this fantastic community. Have a great Bank Holiday Easter

GEOFFEST

8pm – 4am, Plumpton, Aug 2018

What a place to have a birthday bash! Set in beautiful East Sussex countryside
with no neighbours to worry about, we played the sundown with some Pink Floyd,
broke for Fish & Chips and then partied the night away with some soulful
classics, pop and disco… but it wouldn’t have been Geoffest if we didn’t slam on
Queen. Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights was an inspired request! Talk Talk’s Spirit
of Eden hit the right note for the firepit hardcore at 4am. Roll on Geoffest 2!

Geoff – Gary is a close friend and neighbour of my sister-in-law and we first
heard him DJing at a birthday party at her house. He was so good that I cheekily
asked him if he would come and perform at my 60th birthday party and we were
delighted when he agreed. We had a garden party for about 120 people. Gary
started playing music for us all at 4 in the afternoon and continued through
until about 3 in the morning! The ages of our guests ranged from 16 to 70 yet
throughout the afternoon and evening Gary managed to keep everyone happy with
his choice of music. He was inspirational, for instance as the sun was setting
across the garden he played a medley of Pink Floyd which perfectly matched the
moment, as well as being some of my favourites which he somehow seemed to know!
Everyone who was there commented on the outstanding music and how in many ways
it made the party. We have begged him to return to our garden at some point in
the future when next we have a big party.
His music knowledge is excellent and he covers a huge range of styles. We would
have no problem recommending him to anyone who was planning an event and needed
some good music. Amongst our friends and family ‘Disco Gary’ has become a
legend!




IAN’S BIRTHDAY

IAN’S BIRTHDAY BASH

5pm – 1am, Mallorca, Oct 2017

An epic night in Sóller for Ian’s big Five-0 party. Playing 45 minute sets B2B
with a live band was a pretty inspired idea and loads of fun for all. We started
off with various chilled balearic vibes across late afternoon drinks and supper
next to the pool in the shadow of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains before
upping the ante with some digital vinyl as well as some of the old school sort.
A totally raucous evening and one which we just about managed to finish on time
owing to the local police force knocking on the door. Adam Ant’s ‘Goody Two
Shoes’ sent the place in to a frenzy I won’t forget in a while

Julia Cash – Feeling blessed to have had Gary DJ at our recent party in
Mallorca. He tuned into the mood immediately and totally connected with the
floor and maintained an incredible atmosphere through the night. Gary’s music
knowledge & mixes are insane. He’s a real talent. Highly recommend! Xx
