My boyfriend and I reached out to Friendly K9 for assistance with our dog. Walks
were never fun because our dog pulled a lot and she is quite strong. Mittzy is a
Boxer/Cane Corso mix. Now walks are a breeze and she doesn't react as much to
squirrels, other dogs, etc. Sal and Jordan are awesome and did excellent work
with our girl and took good care of her. They have provided us guidance based on
her breed/genetics on the best way to socalize her (best practice, what to do
and what not to do). It was hard to part with her for the 3 weeks in January
this year, but she is back home and doing awesome! I am happy that they will
always be there for advice now and going forward. Thanks again Sal and Jordan.

A great big thank you to Sal and his trainers!! Sent my 5 1/2 month puppy Harley
to their puppy boarding program!! Harley was an aggressive puller to the point
of taking him for a walk was not enjoyable!! Sal did wonders for Harley...he is
calm and so much more relaxed!!! Thanks again Sal!!! Will be using your boarding
services in the fall!! Harley looks forward to seeing everyone soon!! I was over
the moon at how well Sal, and his team took care of Harley, that we used him for
their boarding services while on vacation!! Harley loves Sal and Jordan and we
consider them ,or should I say are family!! Have used the boarding and training
services many times since and each time Sal and Jordan treat Harley like their
own offering him much love but also much needed structure!! I highly recommend
Sal and his team not just for training but also boarding your fur babies!!
Harley has grown very fond of them and will always be part of their extended
family as well as ours!!!

I’ve only ever had small dogs (pugs) and when the oldest passed away we got a
German Shepherd which was our first large dog. Lex is a good boy but he was
pulling, barking and overall not listening to us. When people came over he would
jump on them and bark and as a result people didn’t want to come over. We knew
we needed help because Lex was going to turn 2 soon and we needed to address the
behaviour right away. I googled and researched various dog obedience
schools/programs and decided to go with Friendly K9! The reviews were all 5
stars and after picking up Lex from his 2 week program I understand why they are
the best! From the moment I reached out and asked questions the staff were kind,
helpful and made me feel good that Lex would be in great hands. Throughout the 2
week program they provided updates including pictures and videos to let me know
how Lex was doing which makes all the difference. When we picked him up and they
taught us the exercises and ways to continue to reinforce the behaviour was
great! They were kind, patient and answered all our questions so we felt
confident in carrying on his training at home. I’m pleased to say Lex is doing
amazing and he’s like a brand new dog! Walks are enjoyable and people are coming
over again! This wouldn’t have been possible without Jordan and Sal. Thank you
all for the great training and care you provided to Lex! I know I will be
recommending you friends and family!

Our German Shepherd completed a two week program and the results are great! From
the beginning of the process until pick up they were kind, friendly,
knowledgeable and patient. We see such an amazing difference in Lex. He's
calmer, listens, doesn't pull or bark when walking. This couldn't have happened
without Friendly K9! Thank you to your whole team!

Sal and his team were able to transform our 5 month old female GSD from a
scared, and skiddish puppy into a more confident one. He was able to show us how
to get her to stop pulling and get her in the heel position with no prong or
e-collar- just the same collar she was dropped off with. Sal also follows up and
is there to help answer any questions or concerns. If your puppy or dog is
having social issues, or just a pain to walk with- give Friendly K9 a call. It
is the best investment for your furry friend!

We enrolled our one year old Milo to their 2 week training course.. Sal returned
Milo back totally transformed. Walking Milo now has been a pleasure no more
pulling on the leash, stopping everywhere to pee or trying to attack other dogs.
When the doorbell rings he sits patiently at the front door and allows people to
come in without jumping on them. Sal and his crew always made themselves
available for any questions or concerns we had and gave us daily videos and
updates of Milo's process. Thank you sal and you're amazing crew at friendly k9
for everything you've done for us!
Domenic L
Sal is very accommodating. Sends videos and voice updates every other day, great
to see my dog when we were missing him! Always available to answer questions and
give suggestions on how to deal with issues. Sal is very knowledgeable and
structured with the training. We also took advantage of the boarding after a 6
week training program and my dog was very excited to see Sal again.
Amber H
Sal and the other trainers were very professional. They delivered what they
promised. Our Tanner is so much calmer and easier to handle. We sent Tanner in
for the 6 week anxiety program, which was difficult for us but Sal reassured us
that he was in great hands and was well taken care of. Thanks guys for all your
hard work.

FAQS

What are the 7 basic dog commands?

Anyone who has ever trained a dog knows that there are certain basic commands
that all dogs should learn. These commands provide a foundation for more
advanced training and can help dog owners to better communicate with their furry
friends. The seven basic dog commands are sit, down, stay, come, heel, off, and
no. While each of these commands has a specific meaning, they all share one
common goal: to help the dog owner maintain control over the animal. By teaching
these basic commands, dog owners can help to ensure that their dogs behave in an
appropriate manner and do not become a nuisance to themselves or others.

What is the best method to train your dog?

Training your dog can be a daunting task, but with the right method it can be
easy and fun for both you and your pup. The best method to train your dog will
vary depending on the individual dog and what you hope to achieve. For example,
if you want your dog to learn to sit, a positive reinforcement technique like
rewarding them with treats every time they perform the desired behavior is often
most effective.  Ultimately, the best method to train your dog is the one that
works best for both you and your furry friend. With patience and a little trial
and error, you’ll be able to find the perfect training method for your pup in no
time.

What is the first thing you should train your dog to do?

The first thing you should train your dog to do is sit. Once your dog knows how
to sit, you can begin to teach them other commands. Sit is a simple behavior
that dogs naturally want to do, so it is easy to teach. Dogs also have to sit
when they are groomed, so it is a good behavior for them to learn. Start by
asking your dog to sit while you are holding a treat in your hand. As soon as
they sit, give them the treat and praise them. With practice, your dog will
learn to sit on command.

What are the 5 steps to train a dog?

Training a dog can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. By
breaking the process down into five simple steps, you can easily teach your dog
basic obedience commands and tricks. The first step is to establish yourself as
the alpha. This means being consistent with your commands and always rewarding
good behavior. The second step is to socialize your dog, so he or she is
comfortable around other people and animals. The third step is to begin teaching
basic obedience commands like sit, stay, and come. The fourth step is to
continue building on those commands by adding new tricks and behaviors. And the
fifth step is to be patient and persistent- if you’re consistent with your
training, you’ll see results in no time!

How do you discipline a puppy?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best way to
discipline a puppy will vary depending on the individual dog’s personality and
behavior. However, there are a few general tips that can be helpful when
disciplining a young dog. For example, it is important to be consistent in your
commands and expectations, and to use positive reinforcement whenever the pup
behaves in the desired way. Additionally, it is important to avoid using
physical punishment, as this can often do more harm than good. If you are having
trouble disciplining your puppy, it is best to consult with a professional
trainer or behaviorist who can help you develop a tailored plan for your
specific dog.
