Do I have to register to vote?


Most states and territories require you to register to vote. Fill out a Federal
Post Card Application (FPCA) to register and request an absentee ballot at the
same time. Unsure of whether you are registered? Go to Vote.org to check.

When should I request an absentee ballot?


We recommend that you go to the FPCA website, FVAP.gov, and follow the steps to
request your ballot as soon as possible.

When will I get my ballot?


Election offices are required to send absentee ballots at least 45 days before a
federal election. If you requested your ballot by email, then the ballot should
arrive right away. Mailed ballots will take longer to arrive depending on the
postal system in the country where you are located.

Do I have to pay for postage?


You must pay for postage only if you are using a foreign postal service or a
commercial courier service. If you are using U.S. mail including APO/FPO and
diplomatic pouches, then you can print the postage-paid template from FVAP.gov
onto any available blank envelope.

Please note that some states require you to place ballots and FWABs inside an
anonymous security/secret envelope. When sending your voting materials, make
sure you have two enve

Can I vote at U.S. Embassy Singapore?


No. Elections are run at the state level. You must communicate directly with
your state to register, request a ballot, and vote. We will help you to fill out
the FPCA and Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB), but U.S. Embassy Singapore
is not a polling place.

If you have already filled up your absentee ballot, you may drop it off with
U.S. Embassy Singapore’s American Citizen Services.

Can I vote in the upcoming Georgia runoff election scheduled for January 5,
2021?


As an overseas American voter, you must be a registered voter in the State of
Georgia and request an absentee ballot in order to vote in the Georgia runoff
election. The voter registration deadline for this specific election is December
7, 2020. You may fill out a Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to register and
request an absentee ballot at fvap.gov or get more information from the Georgia
Secretary of State’s office: https://sos.ga.gov/index.php/elections
