Without specifying the launch timeline for its first EV product for the
country, the two-wheeler maker said that it will be able to share its
e-scooter concept by FY23 end. While it is certain to launch e-scooters, the
company shared its optimism about e-motorcycles in the big bike segment.

"Several mishaps involving Electric Two Wheelers have come to light in the
last two months. It is most unfortunate that some people have lost their
lives and several have been injured in these incidents," Gadkari said in a
series of tweets.

CESL has collaborated with the Delhi government and launched an online
portal, 'My EV', to facilitate the registration and purchase of 4,200
electric autos on a pilot basis. The Delhi government will extend incentive
of ₹30,000 and a 5% interest subsidy on the purchase of e-autos on loans
under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy through an automated channel.

More than two dozen electric scooters have caught fire since the onset of
summer in India igniting a furious debate on safety of electric vehicles. The
fresh incident from Warangal is the fourth vehicle from Pure EV that has gone
up in flames since September last year.
