ITI Endorses Doreen Bogdan-Martin to Lead the International Telecommunication
Union

February 24, 2022

WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI endorsed Doreen
Bogdan-Martin to lead the Geneva-based International Telecommunication Union as
its Secretary General.

“Doreen Bogdan-Martin is a deeply experienced leader who would position the
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to help address global challenges as
the world becomes increasingly digitalized,” ITI’s Executive Vice President of
Global Policy Rob Strayer. “Importantly, her lengthy experience at the ITU,
including as Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau, would ensure
the ITU plays a prominent role in expanding internet access and bridging the
digital divide. Further, her leadership would ensure that the ITU’s
standardization activities are a complement to the private-sector-led,
consensus-based standards organizations in developing standards for emerging
technologies. We are proud to support her candidacy as Secretary General.”
