Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible (PM) for driving complex, high priority,
projects or component phases of larger programs. The Project Manager is
accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and within scope.
They will lead and coordinate cross-functional, cross-departmental,
cross-company and are responsible for all aspects of a project, from initiation
to closure. The Project Manager will interface with all areas affected by the
project including executive stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and vendors.
They ensure adherence to quality standards and project deliverables including
compliance, and internal affairs. The Project Manager will perform duties and
makes complex decisions and recommendations under limited supervision, applying
a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures. They exemplify
strong initiative, leadership, and presentation skills.
 
In addition to what the Project Manager is responsible for, it is critical how
those deliverables are executed. First and foremost, Washington Federal is

the project, and striving to improve set delivery dates. Understand the
business, the value of the project and the business case, the functionality the
project is implementing, and what the overall impact is.

KEY FUNCTIONS:
Essential Duties
 * Ensures project methodologies, project delivery processes, and implementation
   management processes are followed. This includes managing and driving:
   * Project Schedule
   * Risk and Issue Management
   * Scope Change Management
   * Budget Adherence
 * Manages the project budget. This includes understanding and validating
   estimates, cost variance tracking, and managing project resources
   effectively.
 * Provides clear and concise project communication; both written and verbal.
 * Manages project communications and stakeholder, client, and project team
   expectations.
 * Conducts lessons learned and applies necessary improvements across the matrix
   organization.
 * Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others;
   works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values; accepts
   responsibility for own actions.
 * Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
   policy; Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; Educates
   others on the value of diversity; promotes a working environment free of

   conditions. The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health
   standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA
   Act of 1970, which are applicable to one's own actions and conduct.

 * Lesson Learned and Project Close-Out documentation
 * Project Plan
 * Meetings including Project Kick-off, Status Meetings, Lessons Learned, QI
   meetings, etc. -- PM is to schedule and facilitate as appropriate
 * Closed Project Archive

Requirements
 * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, plus 6+ years of progressive management
   experience including management of major projects across matrix organizations
 * PMP Preferred
 * Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
 * Proficient in Microsoft Project and or Microsoft Project Server
 * Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
 * Proven success in delivering projects within budget and specified timeframes,
   while ensuring customer satisfaction
 * Proven problem-solving skills from problem assessment to solution selection
 * Ability to identify alternatives and make contingency plans
 * Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in
   direction, and altering priorities
 * Data & Analytics program background is preferred
 * Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
 * Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments
 * Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, providing options and
   recommendations relating to resolving issues, mitigating risks, and resolving
   escalated items.
 * Limited travel may be required
