Last year alone, the New York City Department of Sanitation claimed they received more than 2,300 complaints over dog poop. 200-pound pig escapes from New Jersey farm; rescued by police officers: officials In addition to encouraging dog owners to clean up after their pets, Council Member Julie Menin is proposing to install dog waste bag dispensers to city trash cans. Under the law, the City would also be responsible for keeping the dispensers stocked. New Yorkers can report dog waste on public and private property.
