THE APACENTER HAS CLOSED

Sadly, after serving the Austin and surrounding communities since 2007, we have
decided to close the APACenter. We are grateful at having the privilege to help
so many people over the years and proud of our work. But, as the great bard
William Shakespeare wrote, "All good things must come to an end." We have
finally arrived at that end. However, we also look to inspiration from the
lyrics that can be found in the pop song "Closing Time" by Semisonic: "Every new
beginning comes from some other beginning's end." So, here's to new beginnings!

If you are looking for psychological services, we recommend that you contact
some of APACenter former psychologists at their new practice, Capital Area
Psychological & Evaluation Services, or CAPES. If you are trying to reach Dr.
Mike Brooks, he can be reached through his website of www.drmikebrooks.com.

THE INFORMATION BELOW ABOUT THE APACENTER IS BEING KEPT FOR LEGACY PURPOSES.

Life can be a difficult journey at times. Sometimes we need some help along the
way. If you are looking for an Austin psychologist or therapist for you or your
child, we have a professional at the APACenter who can meet your needs. Our goal
is to help you or your child improve well-being, reduce suffering, have healthy
relationships, and find success in school, career, and life.

Our psychologists have been serving Austin and surrounding areas since 2007. We
offer a wide variety of services. These include psychological and
neuropsychological assessments, therapy, consultation, and coaching for people
of all ages.

WAS TECHNOLOGY EVER MEANT TO GO THIS FAR?

BY DR. MIKE BROOKS  2019-06-27 15:42:55

We’ve all seen movies or read books about technology becoming evil or dangerous,
right? The first movie that comes to my mind is James Whale’s Frankenstein. Its
running theme is the power of science and its unintended consequences. The same

It is with great sadness that, after proudly serving Austin and the surrounding
communities for over 13 years, the APACenter has decided to cease operations. It
was a difficult decision but, as the great bard William Shakespeare wrote, all
good things must come to an end. So, we are no longer accepting any new clients,
and we are wrapping up with or transitioning our current clients.

To all of our clients and colleagues with whom we’ve worked over these many
years, we just wanted to give a BIG THANKS! It has been a great privilege and
honor to work with you.

The great news is that many of our practitioners will continue to provide
psychological services, and we will update the APACenter site and list their
contact information. In fact, a few APACenter psychologists will be forming
their own group practice, and they will provide the same high quality assessment
and therapy services for which the APACenter has been known. Their contact
information will be posted to the APACenter site as soon as it’s available. Dr.
Mike Brooks, the APACenter founder and director, will continue to see therapy
clients, give presentations, and work on his next book. He can be reached
through his individual website of www.drmikebrooks.com Thanks again, Austin, and
a heartfelt goodbye from the APACenter team!
