Campus peace officers, public safety sergeants and other security specialists at
City University of New York launched an employment class action on Jan. 26 in
the Southern District of New York.
The suit, brought by Valli Kane & Vagnini and Mehri & Skalet, alleges that
nearly 90% of CUNY officers are people of color whereas 90% of officers at State
University of New York are white.
