You’ll work as an Analyst influencing strategies and contributing to HSBC’s success. By building this skillset now, we’ll help you develop the agility to keep learning new skills throughout your career. In Finance you’ll: * Partner with Global Businesses and Functions to provide commercial insight and expertise to help deliver HSBC’s strategy * Work on key initiatives that help you understand how Finance maintains the stability of HSBC and supports our growth * Experience first-hand how Finance helps to shape the success of HSBC, enabling us to make smarter decisions around resource allocation, strategic planning and more In Treasury you’ll: * Make an impact through your role in safeguarding and optimising HSBC’s financial resources including Capital, Funding, Liquidity and Balance Sheet, and learn about how we ensure our continued resolvability * Work on key initiatives that help you understand how we build strategies and manage interest rate risk in the banking book through interest rate cycles * Collaborate with our global team of professionals across several businesses and entities to enhance HSBC’s financial returns During your rotations you may work in teams including (but not limited to): * Markets Treasury, the market-facing arm of Global Treasury which manages liquid asset buffer, cash positions, interest rate risk, and executes wholesale funding requirements * Global Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB), which identifies and models interest rate risk, highlights opportunities and tradeoffs in a changing rate environment to support our strategy * Global Liquidity, which safeguards and optimises HSBC liquid resources, passing benefits on to the businesses and entities * Global Capital and Stress Testing, which designs, oversees and guides the deployment and efficiency of capital * Global Recovery and Resolution Planning, which oversees and ensures our continued resolvability We welcome students from all degree disciplines and backgrounds, not just those who’ve studied finance-related degrees, or those who have knowledge of banking. In Finance you’ll: * Learn how to provide strategic advice by collaborating with diverse teams across HSBC * Discover how financial data informs key decision-making processes and contributes to the success of strategic initiatives * Develop a clear understanding of the purpose of Finance, and the work we do in core areas like financial reporting * Get to work with the innovative tools and approaches that are transforming the finance industry * Develop a deep understanding of financial analysis techniques and become proficient at interpreting financial statements and assessing market trends In Treasury you’ll: * Develop an understanding of the operations of a multinational bank, its products and how a Treasury function is central to the efficient allocation of resources between various lines of business * Gain the professional skills necessary for a successful career in the finance industry * Receive comprehensive technical training in macroeconomics, basics in bond and fixed income market, data and digital literacy skills, and training in Liquidity Management, Capital Management, Markets Treasury, Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book, Recovery and Resolution Planning, Treasury Regulation Strategy and Control which will provide an overview of the areas most useful to you as a Treasury Graduate * Get to work with the innovative tools and approaches that are transforming the finance industry Read more about the support you’ll get.
