RESERVED FOOD

IT’S ALWAYS BETTER WHEN IT’S NATURAL.

This screen shows all the distribution locations where you have reserved food.
You can check the status of your reservation. By pressing on the name of the
food distributor you will be able to access your QR code and ID number. If you
like a distributor you can add it to your favorites so that you don’t have to
search for it in the future.

MENU ITEMS

1. EDIT PROFILE

Allows you to make minor changes to your profile.

2. DISASTER RELIEF

In the event that there is a traumatic event in your area, you will need to know
who to contact to get help. When times are hard it is difficult to remember how
or where to look for help. We have included the phone numbers for some of the
agencies, groups, and companies that are engaged in helping people in need.

3. COUPONS

This is where you will find coupons for restaurants, stores, and groups in your
area that are offering special exclusive discounts on items (especially food) to
people that have installed the Harvest Yards app on their device(s). Many of the
coupons will require that you reserve the item and show your ID# or QR code to
take advantage of the deal.

4. DONATIONS

Self explanatory. If you would like to make a donation to Harvest Yards we would
greatly appreciate it. If, however, you would like to make a donation to one of
our affiliates or partners you can do so here and we will make sure that the
money is forwarded to that entity. Donations don’t always have to be money. You
can donate food, cars, property, or your time. Fill out the information sheet
and someone will contact you at our earliest convenience to discuss the nature
of your donation. Remember – Monetary contributions are tax deductible.

BECOME A PARTNER

We at Harvest Yards are always interested in working with other companies and
groups that are striving for a common goal. If you would like to participate we
encourage you to fill out the form and someone will contact you at our earliest
convenience

COMPOSTING

Modern society is becoming more environmentally conscious and the need for
everyone to learn about and practice composting is absolutely vital. Composting
helps reduce the amount of garbage in our landfills, provides organic
fertilizers, and helps reduce our carbon footprint.

WORKSHOPS

Harvest Yards will offer workshops from time-to-time to educate people on the
environmental impact associated with planting trees, growing fruits and
vegetables, composting, as well as growth and maintenance of fruit and vegetable
plants. Ideally, Harvest Yards will participate in the planning and maintenance
of community and communal farms and grow spaces, travel to local schools to
educate kids about the wonders of growing plants, and arrange for professionals
in the industry to give lectures on increasing productivity on a larger scale.

COMPOSTING

Harvest Yards is involved with making sure that more people have access to fresh
produce and foods. Of course, there will be organic waste that will be obtained
during harvesting activities. The unused organic materials should not be
combined with synthetic rubbish. Fruits and vegetables should be repurposed and
made into organic fertilizers by composting. Composted materials that are made
into fertilizers help our environment by decreasing the amount of carbon
produced and spewed into our atmosphere. Members of the Harvest Yard
organization will be available to educate people about the benefits of
composting and give tips about setting up composting systems at home.

VOLUNTEER

Do you have a background in agriculture, have some free time, or just love
plants? We could use your help and expertise. We are going to need volunteers
for all aspects of Harvest Yards. We would love to hear where your interest
lies. Perhaps you grew up on a farm and you know everything there is to know
about growing vegetables. Maybe you enjoy working outside from time to time,
picking fruit and being in a natural setting under bright blue skies. Or, you
would like to get involved with a group that is really just interested in doing
some good while working with other like-minded individuals. We would love to
speak with you and welcome you to the team.

THE FUTURE OF HARVEST YARDS

Harvest Yards is in its infancy and we are just getting started. At this point
in time we are working to establish the most basic items necessary to start
helping people. The few things that we know are: there is a lot of fruit and
vegetables going to waste in people’s yards, there are even more people that
could benefit from consuming fresh fruits and vegetables that they may not be
able to afford at a grocery store. It is literally cheaper to grab fast food
from almost any fast food retailer than it is to purchase fruits and vegetables
in a grocery store. This is a very sad statement about our society and how we
take care of our citizens. For people on a strict budget it is more important to
eat than to worry about eating healthy. We aim to help close that gap as much as
we can for as many people as we can. But we need your help. Every piece of
fruit, every vegetable, and every plant that is cultivated to provide one more
piece of healthy food for someone that needs it is a victory. Working together
we can help our environment, slow climate change, and promote lifestyle changes
for healthy living one small victory at a time.
