VISIT WORTH ABBEY

It would be our delight to welcome you to Worth Abbey.

As St Benedict teaches us: “Let all guests be received as Christ.” (RB 53:1)

There are many varied ways that you can visit the Abbey. Our church is open all
day for private prayer, or you can join in one of our monastic or parish
liturgies. You could walk in our estate, come for a day, come on retreat or join
our intern programme.

If you need to know more about how to get here then follow this link. We very

Worth Abbey



OUR LIFE AS MONKS

Worth Abbey is an English Benedictine monastery, a sanctuary where the Gospel of
Christ is witnessed to through a community life of prayer and service.

The “Our life” pages give you some insight into the way we live as monks
including information on our Abbot, the other members of the Community, our life
of liturgical prayer (Divine Office), Mission, Private Prayer and hospitality.

Becoming a monk takes several years and our website gives more information on
the steps along the way.

“Let them prefer nothing whatever to Christ, and may he bring us all together to
everlasting life.” (RB 72:11-12)

The Mission of Worth Abbey is a partnership in the service of Christ our Lord.
The professed monks work with, and rely on the work of, many others to help
build our sanctuary and further the Kingdom of Christ.

The Connect With Us section of our website lists various ways that you can get
more involved in this partnership. They include joining our Parish, joining our
Pilgrims group, volunteering with us or donating to us.
