The Queen has been ordered to rest by doctors just days after she made her first public appearance in two months. The 96-year-old monarch was due to attend a virtual Privy Council meeting on Wednesday following the appointment of the new British Prime Minister Liz Truss on Tuesday. But Buckingham Palace said after a "full day" the monarch will need to reschedule. "After a full day yesterday, Her Majesty has this afternoon accepted doctors’ advice to rest," the palace said in a statement. Rumours quickly swirled around the Queen's health on social media after she was pictured bruised and using a walking stick. The monarch has been forced to cancel several public appearances since being hospitalised in October for an unspecified illness. She made a brief public appearance at Platinum Jubilee celebrations to mark 70 years on the throne in June.
