SPECIAL CONSERVATION PROJECTS


RAPPAHANNOCK TRIBE’S “RETURN TO THE RIVER”

A private donor, Chesapeake Conservancy and NFWF helped return 465 acres of
their ancestral homeland to the Rappahannock Tribe. However, nearby land along
Fones Cliffs remains unprotected and vulnerable.


CHESAPEAKE TRIBUTARIES INITIATIVE

Together with our partners, Chesapeake Conservancy is using precision
conservation to create a healthier environment upstream, for a healthier
Chesapeake Bay downstream. Restoration is possible through partnerships and a
data-driven approach—starting with the streams. Watch this brief 3-minute video

HISTORICALLY BLACK BEACHES IN THE CHESAPEAKE

Check out this new resource! Blacks of the Chesapeake Foundation and Chesapeake
Conservancy partnered together to shine a light on historically Black beaches
and related places in the Chesapeake watershed.
