A creative cake design studio located in Greater Manchester, we design and make
modern wedding cakes with a respect for the traditional art of sugarcraft to
bring joy to celebrations all over the UK.
The flowers on all our wedding cakes are handcrafted from sugar for maximum
ooh's and aah's.

Designing your wedding cake is like going to a tailor or dressmaker.  Instead of
choosing cloth and taking measurements, you will try different flavour
combinations and we'll talk about guest numbers, portion size and serving your
cake.  As with a made to measure dress or suit, the style and decoration of your
wedding cake will be guided by you.  Whether you have very precise requirements
or a more general notion, we will help steer you through different possibilities
before emerging with a bespoke design personal to you.

SUZANNE THORP AND THE FROSTERY FAMILY

Described as one of the UK's most exciting and creative cake designers, Suzanne
is a craftswoman who uses traditional techniques of sugarcraft in contemporary
cake design, connecting the old and new in a unique way to delight her clients
at home and overseas.  A Master Sugar Artist, Suzanne's work is intuitive, often
using a freehand process to build up layers with depth and texture.  

Established in 2010, The Frostery is Suzanne's professional family of artistic
cake makers - experts in beautiful hand painting, exquisite hand-piped
detail, sculpted models and hand-made sugar flowers.  The Frostery cake
studio is run by Suzanne and husband James from the historic and picturesque
village of Uppermill, just 11 miles outside the City of Manchester, the
birthplace of the modern wedding cake.  A full delivery and set up service is
available anywhere in the UK.

Born into a family of bakers, cooks and farmers, Suzanne has a lifetime of
experience and has been making cakes professionally for over twenty years.  A UK
Top Ten Cake Artist, North West Cake Designer of the Year and dual finalist at
the global 'Cake Oscars' for Best Wedding Cakes, Suzanne has also appeared in
four series of the award winning Netflix/Channel 4 series 'Extreme Cake
Makers'.
