TURN ON SOUND FOR AN XFINITY CAMERA OR VIDEO DOORBELL

Learn how to turn on your Xfinity Camera or Video Doorbell microphone, so you
can have sound for live video and 24/7 Video Recording.


UNDERSTAND SOUND FOR XFINITY CAMERAS AND VIDEO DOORBELLS

This feature lets you hear what's happening around your cameras and video
doorbells when viewing live video or video recorded with 24/7 Video Recording.
For Xfinity Cameras with 2-way audio see Turn Camera Sound On and Use 2-Way
Audio for Xfinity Cameras.

To enable camera sound, you'll need the Xfinity Home app (version 10.38+) or the
Xfinity app (version 3.45+) and at least one compatible camera connected to your
Xfinity system.

Note: Videos recorded before turning on the camera sound won't have sound. Also,
video clips created by rules or manually created using Record Video won't have
sound.

You can listen to camera sound for one-way audio on the Xfinity app, Xfinity
Home app and Xfinity Home app for X1. However, Talk for two-way audio is only
available in the Xfinity app for compatible Xfinity Cameras and Xfinity Video
Doorbells.

Your privacy matters. Camera microphones are turned off until you turn on camera
sound. You can turn it on with a quick tap on the Camera Settings screen.


TURNING SOUND ON

 1. Sign in to the Xfinity app or Xfinity Home app.
    * Select the Security tab.
 2. Scroll down to the desired camera or video doorbell and select the camera
    thumbnail.
    Note: Video doorbells are only available in the Xfinity app.
 3. On the camera screen:
    * Xfinity app: Select the gear icon on the upper right.
    * Xfinity Home app: Select the three dots on the upper right.
 4. Select Camera Sound.
 5. Select the On/Off switch to turn on sound.
    
    

That’s it! You’ve successfully turned on sound on your camera or video doorbell.

Note: When viewing live video in the Xfinity app for cameras of video doorbells
with sound enabled, tap the audio icon in the bottom right corner of the feed to
mute the audio. (This won’t affect sound in 24/7 Video Recording clips.)

Multiple cameras or video doorbells? Repeat these steps to turn sound on for
each camera or video doorbell.
